ChiCha San Chen - Shop entryway, minimal seating

In the area and was thirsty, so popped into CHICHA San Chen. No seating so a truly grab and go…read morelittle place. The shop is bright, clean and modern. The staff were helpful, but more smiles would make customer feel more welcome. I saw two fancy brewing machines and saw the tea dripping out so this is a good sign. The prices are a little higher comparted to other bubbles places, but the freshly brewed tea makes it a higher quality of taste. I ordered the Taro Queen and enjoyed, and you can choose the amount of ice and sweetness. Loved sipping to find the taro paste but not alot of tea to drink. Not sure if I come back as there are other options.

Located by the bus loop at Richmond Centre station - easy to find location…read more Store is very clean and bright - geared towards grab and go. Got the bubble volcano made with oat milk - I am fully aware there is no tea in this drink, and the cashier did note that. However the drink was very disappointing - as it was 25% ice, 65% FOAM and probably got like 10% worth of actual drinkable liquid. The Brown sugar taste was good , not overwhelming - however the amount of liquid for the price paid was seriously laughable. - Oat milk does come out of the carton pretty foamy after you shake it, however that doesn't mean you serve a cup of foam. Will not recommend - bubble tea scene is super competitive, especially in Richmond -

Aloe vera topping is my favourite and their teas are strongly flavoured and not too sweet. Cups are super cute and festive too. I recommend the lychee jade tea with aloe vera!

I absolutely detest false or misleading marketing. In recent days, a few instagram marketing ads…read morefrom influencers promoted the special for this weekend, supposedly for Father's Day. All ads noted that you'd have to order through the fantuan app. The promotion was $2.99 each for their most popular 3 drinks. So we had a family gathering and I had gathered everyone's order the day before since this was definitely a good deal and i always had relatively positive review for the vendor. My husband arrived and tried to order off the app. It turned out that he was only able to order ONE drink at $2.99 and the rest of the drinks were at regular price. Nowhere and not one influencer even mentioned that customers are only limited to one drink at the promo price. Husband inquired with the staff and they offloaded the responsibility to fantuan, saying that the promotion was whatever that was on the app. Did they not review the accuracy of the marketing posts? Or were the posts simply a walk-in bait? I just felt this was very dishonest. Fantuan had a 40% off deal. So instead of the total order coming to $24, with one promo price and all else at regular, it ended up being $20. In conclusion, we had expected to spend $2.99 per drink but it ended up being $5 per drink. What a scam. My family advised that we shouldn't have proceeded with the order. What's even worst was that all drinks were watered down. I read comments on Instagram and apparently many other customers also felt the same. I'm never going back to such a dishonest vendor. Don't try to blame it on fantuan app when you were the one who invited the influencers to do those media posts.

A cozy Taiwanese family restaurant serving a nice selection of Taiwanese street food and desserts…read more We came here mainly for dessert and ordered the tofu pudding with yam balls. The tofu pudding was AMAZING - freshly made with a delicate soy milk flavor, silky smooth and melts in your mouth. The yam balls are equally impressive, nice yam flavor with just the right amount of chewiness. I could happily eat this all day!

Sweet Memory is a Taiwanese spot open late in Richmond with a convenient, shared parking lot…read more Overall, I'd say the savory food and boba felt like huge misses, but the shaved ice was super unique and delicious. I feel like their other dessert options probably have potential and I can see this being an excellent post dinner hang out spot. Turkey On Rice (3.75/5): Rice and gravy was tasty, but turkey was a bit overcooked and kinda chewy. Black Sesame Mochi (3.75/5): This came out piping hot and the flavors were good (can't go wrong with black sesame and peanuts), but the texture of the actual mochi wasn't as chewy as I like. Satisfying, but not anything special. Taiwanese Sausage on Sticky Rice (2/5): Not sure what the red sauce was, but I really was not a fan; too sweet and had a weird funk to it. Taiwanese sausage also didn't have the right texture or flavor, you want the signature big chunks of fat. Pineapple Shaved Ice (4/5): Decently fluffy shaved ice and the pineapple was candied like the inside of a pineapple cake. Grass jelly sat at the bottom of the bowl and added an extra satisfying jello texture. Traditional Fresh Milk Tea (1/5): Way too sweet and the tea flavor was kinda bland. Maybe the other drinks are better.
