This place is kindof a mess…read more The records aren't well organized at all. Everything starting with the same letter is all jumbled together. So if you're looking for Bowie, his records will be scattered throughout the "B" section. That's okay I guess if you've got all day to browse, but the records are also packed in super tight. It located in a building with an Ikea store on Yonge St. between College and Gerard St. The store had a large selection of albums, merch, photocards (pcs) and accessories for a fairly new one. The staff was nice and will show what they have if the item is not on display. Since Kpop can be an expensive hobby, the prices seem fairly consistent and similar to other kpop stores nearby. The photocards look like officials ones though some can be pretty expensive (around 20 to 30).

One of two dvd rental establishments I am aware of in Toronto, I applaud its mission to bring choice to cineastes and to sell physical media to collectors. That's where my admiration ends. This business is run more like a hobby than a serious enterprise. First of all the hours are not posted to my knowledge. There IS an open/closed sign to be fair, but you'll be hard pressed to know when OPEN will be displayed. If you're someone who likes surprise and allowing your shopping efforts to be shaped by serendipity then this is the shop for you. I've attended a few of the Video Store Day sales where hours were posted in advance on social media and was left waiting for the owner to arrive past the indicated opening time. Not much mind you, say 15-20 minutes, but if you're promoting a major sales event, wouldn't it make sense to show up when advertised? Rental selection is pretty good. Lots of obscure gems but the discs I've rented in the past looked like they had been skated on. I rented once and that was it. The store makes an attempt to look cultish and cool, but ends up having that last day of a garage sale vibe. Used discs are strewn in boxes on the floor and in no special order on the shelves. New product is appealing but the owner has taken to not putting prices on the discs. In the past I've paid more than I would have at a competitor's or if I had bought the disc from the production company directly. Again, if you like serendipity its a great experience. What you are paying is always a surprise. On the upside they have a great t-shirt selection if you want to show your allegiance to cult and classic film. Nice designs on quality shirts. You can also find some obscure zines and books that are locally produced and worth the effort of coming by. For new releases or rentals I prefer to shop at their competitor on Bay. This shop could be so much more with a serious attitude to retail.

It's a decent size, big selection of books, and it's all neatly labeled by theme, makes it super easy to find what you're looking for. Plenty of CD's and records to choose from too, Records are also neatly labeled alphabetically, or by artist (Major Bands have their own sections). However, customer service here isn't great, the lady behind the counter was so focused on reading a book....hardly even acknowledged me when I came in and looked around. It's good! And the staff are friendly! Toronto has two great video shops (you can also visit Eyesore for a similar experience) and I am had we've got these two hanging in in the 21st century. You can find a variety of deep cuts and the newest from Criterion, Shout!, or Arrow. You can find films at a variety of price points. The good stuff will be a bit pricy but, seriously. Treat yo'self. They also rent films too and offer free ones too. And they have a membership card to save you down the road.
