Just a cool place to hang out and have a beer with your dog . Friendly staff, great beers and nice area to nag outdoors. Indoor seating is available as well. Sometimes the taco food truck is open

We were on a Tagabrew trail and this was one of our stops. I must say that I did love the atmosphere here. There were lots of cutouts where you could sit and hang out. Some private romantic spots too. The seating was living room type and you really could get comfortable. Feels a bit like you're in someone's living room. Very cozy. We even saw nursing students there studying. Hahah. We both got a good laugh out of that. Nursing school is very tough and we both agreed that beer would have made studying more tolerable. They had a taco food truck out back. We didn't eat but the food smelled so good! The other patrons said it was amazing. The beer though... I was disappointed in the beer as was he. We both got a different kind too so I'm not really sure what wasn't right about it. Any way. We will probably give it another shot if we are in the area. We really liked the atmosphere!

"I aspired to the purity of the blessed malt." Someone is a poet of maybe not epic but at least respectable proportions. I'll come back to that later... Here we are with brewery visit #190! And this is a good one! Tenacity Brewing is in an unassuming old brick building and I drove right by it the first time. But coming the other way I saw quite a few cars in the parking lot which to me, a trained observer, is called a clue. There is no big central area but multiple smaller rooms. One obviously has a bar with seating nearby but several other rooms are also available affording a little smaller spaces especially good if you want to find a quieter area. They also have a large patio area which backs up to the river and I overheard the bartender telling someone that during the summer they have kayaks which they launch right off the bank. Cool stuff! I went with a flight of six beers and have to say they were all great in their own style. Surfer Blue is a blueberry wheat with a nice blueberry flavor and aroma. Not overpowering and just a good beer for me. The Atwood amber was next in honor of SWPFTD. The Amber was smooth with plenty of malty flavor. Lawnmower lager is a good lawnmower beer. Light in flavor and easy drinking. No off flavors at all. Aye, I do love a Sassin Lassie! I also love a Scotch ale so I had to go with this one. Very nice Scotch ale! The Sarsaparilla English IPA is the way I enjoy IPAs. Good aroma and flavor without the mind numbing, neck beard pontificating bitterness. Last one for me was the Woolen Mill milk stout. Great flavor and mouthfeel with the sweetness from unfermentable lactose. This was a great little stout. As I was tasting my beers I saw that a bard of beers had scribed on the wall: "From the moment I understood the weakness of my Busch it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of an IPA. I aspired to the purity of the blessed malt. Your kind cling to your lites, as if they will not decay and fail you. One day the crude beverage you call a "beer" will wither and you will beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved. For the craft is immortal." Cheers to the poet who left that gem for me and others to find. A photo of it is included to memorialize not only the wise words but the artwork that accompanied it. And yes, the area it was written is designed for that very purpose. This is a great spot and the brewer obviously knows their business. I will definitely stop back in at Tenacity when I get back to the area. I would have had a pint to follow but I was operating on about 4 hours of sleep after flying halfway across the country. If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! https://www.yelp.com/collection/-8iscFkpiiCI563-FDfwGg and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand. Yes, you will need to read into it a little to get the joke but I have confidence in you!

Cozy seating, delicious beer. Did not eat while here, but there was a food truck offering tacos.

My boyfriend, his family and I were in Flint for a wedding and had some time between the ceremony and the reception so I found this place on Yelp. I'd never been to Flint before so I didn't really know what to expect, but Tenacity Brewing is definitely worth a stop if you're in this area. It's a bit of a diamond in the rough, as it's not really by anything else and the exterior is a bit unassuming, but the interior decor, beer, friendly staff, fun outdoor space, and an awesome-sounding food truck definitely make up for any shortcomings upon first glance. The space is pretty cool, with a front seating area that includes some really fun light fixtures and several high top tables. The bar is towards the back, which is on a wall tiled with subway tiles. There is a second seating area in back with more of a lounge feel, with wingback chairs, built-in bench seating, and a loveseat/couch. There are some board games as well. The outdoor space has plenty of seating and yard games! It was super hot when we were there, so we didn't sit outside, but it definitely looked like a fun place to be later at night. Tenacity doesn't have a kitchen, but there is a food truck onsite most days. We didn't get any food, but the menu I saw had a bunch of different tacos that all sounded AMAZING, plus the smells coming from the truck were mouthwatering. I ordered a flight, as I usually do on my first visit to a brewery. I tried three IPAs, a milk stout, a cider, and one other I can't think of. We also ordered a pint of the root beer, because I can't pass up a good root beer! All the beers were well-balanced - my personal favorite was the grapefruit IPA and the other group favorite was the milk stout. Prices are very reasonable for this type of place - $4-$7 for a pint or tulip. No doubt about it, I will certainly be back to Tenacity if I'm ever in the area again!

Amazing customer service provided by Jamie, not only when I ask some questions but also when I visited the business with my 11 year old Airedale Terrier. We felt right at home with the staff, patrons and the environment - on our first visit to their establishment for their Open Mic Night!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE!! A++++++ for friends, family and social gatherings!!! Thank you!!!

My brother took me here after a Michigan game. They serve all their own craft beer, non alcoholic beer and finger food. You order at the bar, take your drink or flight to a table that you choose with a number stick if you ordered food and they will bring that to you. I enjoyed all of their craft beers from the ciders to the stout. The fried chicken nachos were also very good. Food and beer is moderately priced. I'm not a fan of no table service but it might work for them. Cool, clean low lit vibe inside. Indoor/outdoor area with high top, chair, bench and picnic table seating split in multiple rooms. Patio area is has a decorative fence enclosure with a fire pit and corn hole game. Free WiFi. Lot parking. Live entertainment on evening weekends. I will return when I'm in the area.

Tenacity is a tap room with a food truck that takes orders from the bar. the tap room opens at 3pm and the food at 4pm. It is about two blocks west of down town. Stop in Wednesday (July 25) for the first time. tried a pint each of the Milk Stout and the Sessions IPA. both were very good. I will visit again to sample some of there other beers.

When we first stopped in, we got talking to the owner who let us sample many different beers before we finally settled on a few drinks. I had their Taco Crusher that has the best Jalapeno flavor. My friends got a spirit flight and the Diablo Margarita. We kept going with a Strawberry Lavender Lemonade and Old Fashioned. Nothing disappointed! I asked that the strawberry lavender lemonade be made with vodka instead of gin, as I don't care for gin, but the owner convinced me to order the drink as it came and he did not let me down! Walking in, this place has a very cool lounge type of vibe. Not a ton of tables, but it felt very comfortable and inviting. For dinner, I ordered Elote (Mexican street corn), 1 Birria taco, 1 Al Pastor taco, and 1 carne asada taco (not pictured). The Elote was creamy, salty, spicy and sweet in all the best ways. The Birria (dipping taco) was super flavorful and the consume was just right. The Al pastor taco was the perfect balance of salty and sweet, thanks to the pineapple on it. The carne asada taco was good, but probably the most plain. This place was awesome and not overpriced. I paid just under $18 for all of my food, not including the margarita. I went here all of the time as a college student when it was known as the Backroom and later I dropped in once in awhile when it was called Kelly's, until it was sold and became the Loft. Yep, it's a dive bar, always has been and always will be, but the really good old days of the dive bar experience here are sadly gone. As dive bars go, I've seen better and I've seen worse. In fact, if look up the phrase "dive bar," you will probably come across a picture of the Loft. You can't order food here, the "dance floor" is tiny, the music is sometimes good, sometimes not. Don't let me get started on the parking situation- it's terrible and you might as well make a mad dash to wherever you managed to park your car when you leave! It's actually laughable. Some of the cocktails are a bit overpriced for what you are getting (sometimes weak or improperly made), but service largely depends on if you are regular or friend of a friend. Random strangers probably tend to get the short end of the stick. I admit, I've gotten free drinks here before, but that's because the staff knows me. Rodney, the owner, is a great guy, but sometimes the bar runs out of essentials, like premium spirits and mixers. I wish the bar staff would just get it together and make certain that the bar is properly stocked to avoid having to order something alternative because they're out of the appropriate ingredients. Beer selection is just average, but they do carry Stella Artois, one of my favorites, so the Loft has that going for itself. While I don't particularly care for most of their cocktails (either too sweet or extremely tart- so much for a happy medium), the bartenders do make a good mojito and a decent old fashioned, though. My preferred cocktail is a whisky sour, which is pretty easy to make and the last few I ordered kinda sucked. They just didn't taste right, too tart. More often than not, I haven't cared for the vibe, the atmosphere, etc. There are just way too many barfly types hanging around drinking draft beer all night. Plus, I often run into an ex or two here and that's just bad mojo all around...

We just bought round after round after round. They made our car bombs out of Bushmill's whiskey which was a huge plus! I love dive bars and I wouldn't call this one a dive exactly, but the atmosphere is definitely NOT one where you want to drink expensive specialty martinis and eat tapas while toting your designer bag around. It's more like the place that gets really cozy when you go there regularly. Torn jeans, comfy white T-shirt, your busted Cons. I definitely would go do some major chugging with my Flint town crew if I was back around there.

A pleasant surprise…read more About a week ago, I was out with my friends and we were looking for a chill place to just hang out and have a few drinks that wasn't too crowded when we happened upon this quiet little hangout rather by accident. For some reason, it seemed everyone in town was out that night and each one of our preferred watering holes was either too crowded or just felt meh to us. After meeting up in Flint Township after work, we were struggling to settle on an ideal, perhaps new, place that also served decent bar food, but was laid back and not filled with Nascar fans, dbags or overly drunk 21 year old girls. After ditching two other establishments because they were not our scene, we came across Vic's Place, quite by happenstance. Vic's Place was definitely the answer. Located around the back of the new Ruggero's location (with a separate bar entrance), Vic's was a nice, quiet alternative. It wasn't a lame sports bar or dive bar, just a quiet pub with good food and drinks. The food was quite good and the menu was fairly extensive, ostensibly because the food comes from the Ruggero's culinary team. After all, they are located within the same building. The food menu featured a lot of pasta dishes and specialty pizzas, as well as the basic tenets of bar food, namely burgers, sandwiches and deep fried appetizers. I split a ginormous order of loaded nachos, heavy on the traditional fixings with a pretty decent hot sauce on the side. My friend, Jen, ordered a personal margherita pizza and while I didn't sample her dish, it looked great, plus she said it was quite good and would order it again. Vic's had an extensive list of beers on tap, which I like in a bar, as well as a nice selection of craft beers. Draft beers came in two sizes- big and humongous. Guess which size I had. Anyway, the beer and wine lists were impressive and the cocktails, while they took a long time to hit the table, were fun, inventive and decidedly not on the weak side. The Old Fashioned was a good classic, strong, but subtle in all the right places. I'd order it again in a heartbeat. My friend, Jen, asked the bartender to "whip up something unique." She was not disappointed. Her nameless concoction was an ode to a Manhattan, but with a twist. I tried it and she was right- it was sublime. I liked the atmosphere. It was laid back and quiet, despite the fact that there were quite a few people in the place, seated up at the bar and at tables. The bar had a jukebox. That was kinda interesting. It wasn't something you see everyday. As for decor, there was a fire pit near our table and the bar was outfitted with a mix of high tops and low tables, with a slightly elevated seating area near the jukebox and the fire pit, which was where we were seated. Be careful when you step down or you'll trip, especially if you're a bit inebriated. The service was a little slow and it definitely took a little bit longer to receive our food than it probably would in a typical dive bar or a greasy spoon, but it wasn't that bad and there was only one bartender on duty pretty much the entire time we were there. Plus, the food was clearly quite a few notches above basic bar grub, anyway. Prices were on par with what one would expect. The draft beer specials were cheap and well worth the extra money to order the larger size draft. I will definitely be back. Our group came in with low expectations and left with any preconceived notions about the place completely shattered. Definitely a nice place for a quiet drink with friends after work or happy hour.

Here is the problem... the bartender gives this one Ding Dong at the bar the remote to the music and he cranks it so loud that you cannot talk to the person next to you.
