Driven past this place so many times so it was good to finally go. Large restaurant with lots of seating. We made reservations but there were plenty of open tables. We got the truffle Brussels sprouts, they were good, crispy, and a lot for a serving. I couldn't taste any truffle though. My filet was cooked great and came with the mashed potatoes and sauce. I'm going to start this with....my dinner last night was incredible here. So when I ordered tacos tonight and they were burnt? I was surprised. I sent it back and got the same. The manager was doing her obligatory walk around and asked if everything was ok. I showed her. She rolled her eyes at me and said 'You want me to get you another one?' On a refire? I was out on a business trip and I needed to find dinner near my hotel. The guy at our hotel recommended Redwood for the steaks and a house made root beer. I walked in and the hostess asked if I wanted to sit at the bar since I was by myself. So, I took a seat at the bear and was greeted right away. I did learn that the brewmaster was no longer making the root beer, but they did have a nice drink selection. I ordered a 10 oz sirloin steak that came with mashed potatoes and a house salad The salad came out and it looked pretty nice. It had greens, onions, cranberries, walnuts and bleu cheese. I could have done without the bleu cheese, but it was no biggie. My steak arrived and looked really nice with a demiglace and some veggies on top of it. It was cooked pretty perfectly medium rare. The restaurant itself had a kind of rustic vibe to it. It was also a brewery of sorts and had quite a lot of seating. Our waitress even offered us a discount for staying at our hotel, which was awesome. Overall, the food was good for the value and pretty tasty. I would definitely give it a shot if you are near the area. read more

Unassuming but almost huge place off the beaten path near Bishop Airport. My wife got turned on to this spot by a colleague while working in the area & we have now been back several times. While we are not huge beer drinkers they do have a nice assortment of in-house brews. We are more inclined to order wine or spirits & their wine list is rather small, their cocktails are decent pours. Above average & classier bar food, pretty good pizza but maybe order a little well done. The dal surprise is their steaks. I am pretty finicky preferring charred rare or Pittsburgh style which is not well-k own in these parts & requires a very hot grill. One of the owners, Louis, who is very hands-on, was manning the grill the last time we were in & our server I fed us that their grill was not as hot as required to really get that good char. No problem. The steak came out to my liking and Louis even came to our table to make sure I was happy with his artistry. Classy! And I was! Will be back soon and often. read more

Feels like this place has gone downhill, just like the Courtyard across the street, since my last visit in 2018. I got the tuna as a starter. It was smaller than expected but that was okay since it was just for me in addition to the main. The tuna wasn't the highest quality but it was passable. Seaweed salad is usually pretty much identical anywhere you get it but this one also felt a bit of a step down. The mushroom risotto wasn't quite there for me. It didn't have the right texture, maybe they didn't use the right arborio rice? The rice felt different, like it wasn't actually arborio and was covered up with something else to simulate the creaminess. On this Tuesday night, it was also quite empty. I remember Redwood being packed. Came for a trip down memory lane, left feeling sad at what this place is now. read more

Went here for dinner with my sister and Mom after her baby shower to celebrate. We had great service, seated quickly we did have a reservation. Drinks were delicious and they had great mocktails, for my sister who is pregnant. Had a great luncheon today! We had a table of about 12 and everyone really enjoyed their food which was served in a timely manner. My chicken breast was tender and flavorful and my salad was very filling. Our server, Mary, was incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful providing me information about portions and different items that I was considering. This place is fantastic. From the food, to the service, to the ambiance it all makes you feel positive and special. We went here for my birthday dinner. Had a nice flight of craft beers to sample many of which one the World Expo beer Awards, we had a great steak and rib dinner with nice sides. The steak was tender and had a nice char on it. There was real parmesan shaved into my Caesar salad the bread was crusty on the outside but soft in the center and the ribs were not boiled first and then grilled like many restaurants do it and they were tender and fall off the bone. Sauce was slightly sweet which is fine by me and the only thing I didn't really care for was the risotto it was mushroom and spinach risotto and it was really gummy. There's plenty of seating and plenty of parking although it can be a bit dark inside I had some difficulty seeing my menu. You can see where they brew beer right on site and you can see into the kitchen as well. Price wise is more expensive than other places but the quality is definitely there to justify it. I want to go back to try the wood plank salmon next time. See, I'm already planning my next visit. read more

A side salad that came with meals you now have to pay for, along with the bread you used to get as you sat down. A friend ordered a steak medium done and it came almost burnt. I added one item (mushrooms) to a pizza they charged me $2.99 for. & The pizza I ordered came with crust so thin it was like eating a pizza off a Tortilla. I had dinner and a beer flight here with my brother and son. We were seated promptly right after opening (4p). I had the fillet Oscar with mashed potatoes and the Redwood salad. The salad was unique that I chose to have with ranch on the side. I wish it would have been chilled more. The fillets were 4 ounces each with both being very good but one was more tender than the other. Crab cakes were tasty but thin. I also thought for the price they should offer a baked potato and not just mashed. Overall, I thought the meal was very good. The flight were six 6 ounce samples that the price varied on the type you selected. Most were average with 2 being good. My brother enjoyed his fish and chips along with my son saying his burger was good. Large parking lot with a lodge theme. Flat top and bar seating. Cloth napkins. Excellent service. $$$$ Pricey. The food was very tasty. Our server CK was attentive and provided great suggestions. The ambiance was "fun" because the music in the background was interesting. We were visiting from Chicago, IL and we started with spinach artichoke which was really good. The pita/flat bread provided with it was tasty. Next we had chilli this was aslo really good just don't forget to ask for onions and cheese if that's your thing. We had cesar salad and an 18 oz ribeye cooked perfectly medium. Been here when place was opened and that was a awesome experience now everything seems to be gone to seed ambience is totally cool but when you walk in the front door, it's almost like you're checking into go to work. There is lockers on the side of the main entrance as well as Other as it ends that seem to have ventricular out in public when they should be behind a closed doors, even the main advertisement/billboard has faded into almost nothingness. The vegetables were 90% celery and onions, just a few carrot slices. I mentioned it to the manager, she said that they would "throw more carrots in." This was our first time for dinner there and it was fantastic! The first impression was definitely not good though as we had reservations and the young girls working the hostess stand were not friendly at all, did not make any eye contact and really only talked to each other!! Very poor impression at the start and will likely cause me to drop a star. A simple smile with a few friendly words goes a long way especially when working with the public! They really need to be retrained and managed better but I saw their supervisor who had the same attitude. It literally took 4 of them to figure out where to seat our reservation of 3. They were a very confused bunch and not friendly at all!! Major disappointment there! The ambiance was a bit loud and crowded but it was a Sat.But it's pretty open and no private areas or booths but again the food and menu was great! There were 3 of us for my daughter's birthday who chose the restaurant as she goes often with her boyfriend. They have bread service which I have never had to pay for but it was very good for $3 each. We also had Calamari, side salads, Delmonico 14 oz., and Salmon Teriyaki, and 4 drinks. Appetizers and cocktails to start, then we came up with a menu offering five entrées. All of the food was delicious in the server was wonderful. We were on our way home from a day at Meijer Gardens and looking for a place for dinner. Approaching Flint, we remembered dining at this place a few years ago and loving it so thought we'd give it another try. So glad we did. It sits near a bunch of hotels and also it was homecoming at a nearby school so we were lucky to get in. Started with Chorizo Truffle Brussel Sprouts and it was very good. I ordered the Signature Pot Roast. So good. My wife ordered the 12 oz Sirloin and (with the advice of our server), it was cooked to perfection. Just the right amount of tasty char. Great experience! Went in at lunchtime and got a Delmonico. It was cooked perfectly and was a delicious cut of meat. Had the mashed potatoes as the side and they were great. I didn't plan on drinking but they had a non alcoholic ipa and I had to try it. It was tasty and complimented the meal nicely. Would highly recommend. read more

For what I look up the reviews first hand it was 3-4 stars. So where it's at and the town that's is about right. The place gave like fancy but yet nice where it won't hurt your wallet much. There was deer/elk lights with nice tables and you can see the cooks some what cooking the food and where they make their not to bad beer. The waitress where really nice and did there job right. The prices aren't bad but they aren't great either. My wife burger was just a little over cook. The fries were hot but not tasting like the garlic parm they are suppose to be. I didn't get fries that I ask instead I got mash potatoes but still cook. The ribs I got were cook but could have cooked a little longer. But overall I give it a 4 stars. read more
