I regularly get the baby arugula Caesar salad, which comes in a decent portion as both the small and large portion. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was tasty, and it came with a side of their house chips which go super well with their ranch! What we liked: * Able to seat us at a big table with no wait. * Our server was incredibly happy and friendly- believe his name was George. * Impressive bourbon selection. * The dry rub wings were good- nice rub and meaty. * The truffle fries tasted good. What could if been better. * The truffle fries while good seemed like they were a baked shoestring fry. This place is pretty cool. Stopped in for lunch while at a conference up the street. Service was fast and friendly. Burger and fries were good but the Brussels were great. We were sat in the little area at the front of the restaurant where you had to step up and there's a gas fireplace. It was a little chilly in there but she said they had just turned on the fireplace. I stopped by here for a late midweek work lunch from a recommendation for a good burger. I had the mushroom, bacon and garlic burger that, even though good sized, was relatively flat. The Cajun fries were over salted and somewhat cold. Service was excellent. Full bar, low/high top and patio seating. Craft beer flight available. Clean. I don't recall if they had wifi. Limited street parking. I would probably return for a beer flight but not the burger. It appears that their pretzel bites are highly recommend. read more

The food overall was very mediocre, however I 100% recommend getting the pretzel bites specifically for the garlic aioli, that was exceptionally delicious. The food gets a 3.5/5. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal and handled our table of 9 fantastically. Great service overall and very nice. Craft cocktails that are dreamy, a great patio for in the summer, and a warm, masculine interior that brings to mind cigar bars and scotch. This place specializes in whiskey, and they have whiskeys you'd be hard-put to find anywhere else in the state. Impeccable service, and I even worked here for a summer hostessing because I love the place so much. Great spot! I was deciding between 4/5 stars, but went with 5 due to the great service and good food! The chicken tenders are good, but a little over breaded, so if this is your thing order away! Staying at the Hilton Garden Inn I walked around the corner to Churchill's to find some dinner. Weeknight dinner time, only a few tables in use. Server told me it was steak night for $18, so rolled the dice and hoped for the best. Wow, was I surprised to be served one of the best dinners I have had in a while. The sautéed Brussel sprouts were VERY good with a delicious sauce on them. But the steak was the biggest surprise. It was tender, delicious, some kind of butter melting (maybe garlic butter?). It was one of the best steaks I can recall having. To get this dinner for 18 bucks is a steal! I've been paying $32 at the Hilton's I stay at for basically the same food but no where near as good. Hats off to the chef! I really went in to try the Fish & Chips that are noted in other reviews so will go back to Churchill's next time I'm in Flint. read more

Always great food, fabulous staff and the best bourbon/ whiskey menu in the area!love it here and would totally recommend.

The food here is great. They also have a large variety of drinks. I like to come here for dinner whenever I'm going to an event downtown.

The building seemed kinda grimy. Everything seemed as though it could stand to be power washed, cleaned with a scrub brush, then repainted. While staying at Hilton Garden Inn this is a very close walk for dinner. So glad I did! Sat at bar and enjoyed an Old Fashioned with unique molded ice cube and dark cherry with juice. Then at recommendation of another guest 2 seats away, I ordered the ribeye steak medium rare with green beans and augraten (spelling???) potatoes. Wow the cook seasoned everything nicely and no we'd to add salt/pepper. It was SO tasty and tender. Liked the dark wood decor inside. For the last few years, I have gone to Churchill's for lunch a couple times a month. I've had a few poor experiences with service but I understand today's struggle with being short staffed and stressed as a server. Overall, food is great. Especially the special dishes that pop up every now and then. I always recommend this spot to coworkers in downtown Flint. read more

We had my boyfriend's birthday there last night. There was about 25 of us in their large side room-enough room to socially distance and still have fun. Our server, Matt, was ON POINT. On point. Not ever an empty glass, or a dirty dish on the table. The food was incredible-we had a limited menu, which Included everything-burgers, salads, pizza, entrees. All of the food was fresh and hot and delicious. And the drinks-man, this place can make a KNOCKOUT cocktail. Smoked old fashioned is always a hit-but everything, from the martinis, to the wine list, to the beer list. There is literally something for everyone at Churchill's. Terrible Service I have been going to Churchill's since 2014 when I was college. I have always loved this place and have gone back time and time again. Recently though service has been well below par. I thought maybe an isolated incident but after 4 times in a row it keeps getting worse. Here are some notes from some of our most recent visits. 1. Waitress wrote down the wrong order and fought with us that what we ordered (we always order the same thing) 2. Mandatory Gratuity - Mandatory 20% tip which is fine but wouldn't tell us if we did and we had to ask for an itemized receipt to get this and was annoyed that we asked for this. 3. Took forever to order, waitress kept saying "I'll come back" 30 minutes later we were finally able to order. 4. Brought cookies for a friends going away party, they said we weren't allowed to have them but they would hold them in the back until we were leaving. After we finally pay our bill we find out they weren't holding them, they threw them out. Note to Management : I'll give this place another shot but your service needs to change. read more

I tried this local pub my hus and and I try easily prepared dishes when going somewhere new. The beer batered fish had no flavor and was greasy. My husband had the cheese steak no flavor and dry. Very cool spot with Churchill quotes all over the walls. It's one of those "If these walls could talk." Kind of restaurant and lounge. Getting better day to day! It's improved a bit since its purchase by the owners of the Red Baron a few months back. The food is better, more on a par with where it used to be back when I was in college. Indeed, the veggie wrap and french onion soup are highly recommendable, so perhaps Churchill's will thrive once again as a great downtown lunch establishment. The beer selection is improving slowly as well, which shouldn't come as any big surprise since the Red Baron itself has along the lines of 40 taps. Keep the changes coming! The atmosphere is still a little meh at night, but it's getting there, albeit slowly. The emphasis on maintaining live music during the weekends is still there, but maybe they will start booking a few better bands now that new ownership is in charge. There's lot more competition in the bar scene downtown now than than there used to be, but Churchill's is starting to change again- for the better. There have been some minor cosmetic renovations and a few much-needed refurbishments as of late, all of which can be considered a major improvement, just from external appearances. Churchill's just looks better from the outside as you're walking down Saginaw Street, quite a change from the semi-eyesore it was sadly starting to become. Sometimes I would walk by and say, "Is this place even open?" If it wasn't for the neon "Open" sign in the corner, I swear, no one would have been the wiser. The service still is what it is- a full plate of snark served with a heaping side order of cockiness. Some people get served quickly and easily if they are regulars or friends of the staff and others don't. It's always been that way and might never change. I've usually had no problem with the service, but I know quite a few others who do, as well as a bunch of folks who have no quibble with it, either. I suppose it's part of the charm. read more
