Love this place! My hubby and I drink & dine here every few weeks and it has become one of our go-to spots for a tasty night out. Can't even pin point a favorite dish because we try something new every time we stop in, always having to consider the exciting monthly specials. The beer selection is great, but the food is what keeps us coming back! This is not your average pub grub, as they continuously come up with unique twists on classic brewery fare. We have never been disappointed by their weekly soup offerings, and one of my favorite sandwiches is the gourmet grilled cheese with smoked pulled turkey... (don't forget to add some tater tots!) I also like to try their ever-changing menu of flavored house-made seltzers; and the hard cider selection is one-of-a-kind. Waitstaff is cool, patient, down to earth, and love to recommend their top picks on both the drink & food menus, in case you're having trouble deciding. Service is fast, and everyone is friendly and happy that you stopped in! Restaurant atmosphere is cozy and relaxing, offering all types of seating options. Definitely 5 for the beer. The copperline and wheat beer named after tigers player were amazing! The blood orange ipa was good, definitely bitter- definitely had the bitter bite. The brown "take the biscuit" was a good brown and unfortunately reminded me I'm not a huge brown fan. Had Mac and cheese with candied bacon, while the bacon was tasty, the sauce was a bit thin. The chilly had some heat, do give you sour cream and cheese to help with that. The chili came with corn bread- jalepeno, and that was good (and no, did not cook down the chili.) had tag a brews and swag. Will be back for the beer! read more

I recently hosted a private event here and Battle Alley was GREAT! Such a casual, welcoming, and friendly environment. You can tell that the staff really care about their patrons and each other. I rented their back room which was perfect for our group of about 30. They were super flexible and easy to work with. Their bbq meat and mac n cheese were huge hits--and they were even able to provide an off-menu item by special request which was appreciated (and delicious)! I tried a few of their beverages and while tasty (I especially love their dry cider) some of them appear to have carbonation issues and were a bit flat. The parking lot is quite small, but street parking is available and there's also a park across the street. I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu! read more

Made a quick pit stop on the way home and was very happy with Battle Alley. First thing I noticed when I sat down at the bar was the carrier containing different BBQ sauces. I'm a sucker for house made sauces so of course I had to eat something that allowed me to try each one and landed on their monthly special, birria mac. I was going to try and save half for later but accidentally ate it all. Bartenders were very friendly and attentive who gave me a sample of two other beers outside of my actual order. A standard accommodation at a brewery but never expected; especially when I didn't even ask. Thanks! The three beers I did try/drink were delicious as well. The red was a littler sweeter than I was expecting but uniquely good. I'll definitely be back when I can focus more on the brews. read more

It was alright. We ordered the nachos for an app with pulled pork. It wasn't much for the price and the cheese sauce was rather thin and runny. Our table ordered burgers, a bowl and another sandwich. They were good; nothing spectacular or something we'd later crave to get us to go back. Service was decent as well as atmosphere. read more

A++++ Staff were friendly and helpful. Beer.. delicious. The crown gem has to be the food. The fried green tomato appetizer was amazing, and the BLT sandwich was equally superb. The brisket au jus dip was top 10 I've ever had. The fact that they get their bread from crust is a selling point. Our new favorite place, will be back. The only minus.. there was lipstick prints on my water glass. But honestly the food was so good, I didn't even care, I just drank my beer instead. read more

Another visit as we were in the are. What we liked: *The beer-always cold and lots of choices. *Every time we have been here the service has been friendly, attentive and helpful. Today was no different. *The wings 2"were so good. Nice crispness to them with a nice flavorful dry rub. So good! What could be better : *The pretzels today just didn't deliver- almost over cooked. I have been here twice, both times really good food. I have celiac disease and asked if they had a gluten free menu. The first time I went our waitress was very friendly and checked to make sure everything we had was safe. They do have gluten free sub buns, not out of the bag. These are so good. They have candied bacon which is amazing!!! I love the atmosphere, outdoor seating when it's nice out. Owners are so friendly. Only negative is they don't have much in the way of beverages for those who can't have beer. read more

We went went it was it was cold outside and too cold to sit outdoors, but I think we would prefer to come back when it's warmer. The place was nicely decorated but it was dark and loud. What a gem of a place! I found the beer selection to include a little bit of everything from light beer, to a sour, to imperial stouts. The food was delicious and on point. Never thought I'd order pork rinds for an appetizer, but I did and they were delicious with that bbq seasoning. I'd take bags of them to-go if I could. For me it's one word Barbecue n Beer, oh wait that's two words, oh well I guess Battle Alley Brewing can't be summed up in one word. This place was a good find (thanks Yelp) we were hanging out in Holly, with George the atomic dog. And needed a place that allowed dogs on the patio had beer and food. Battle Alley Brewing fit the bill, and boy they did not disappoint. My choice ;Battle Brisket Melt Sandwich Thin shaved slow smoked brisket, with melted Provolone cheese, caramelized onions, spicy herb aioli, served with house made Au Jus on fresh sourdough ...... 17.75 definite winner, and a good choice. And the menu has a lot of other choices like bbq, sandwiches, burgers, wings, fries, loaded fries, salads and more. And the beer, yes please. They have a really good variety you can find ipas, ales, sours, barrel aged beers, ciders, they really brew some good choices. So yes please I will be back. I'll make the trip because Battle Alley Brewing has a ton to offer. I'm coming back to check out some of their events they look like they do it up pretty good. Maybe if I had two more beers.... maaaaaybeeee 4, I would have regaled the couple sitting next to me about my history with the city of Holly and why I love it so much. Alas, I only had a flight so my poor beertender was forced to suffer through my far too sober story telling without the hand motions and possible full acting out of certain events that may or may not have happened circa 1991-93, and possible statute of limitations. But I digress. Built on the bones of Northern Oak Brewery, Battle Alley has converted into a BBQ slinging restaurant to go along with their brews. First and foremost I would like to say how lovely the employees are. The beertender was fantastic, the hostess attentive and I even was able to speak with manager for a minute. You will not be getting any kind of bad service here. I was recommended the Battle Alley Burger and I ordered a flight of beers to enjoy prior to and along with it. The beertender mentioned it was a pretty big sandwich so I didn't go with any sides. As a burger aficionado, I have to say, I really enjoyed this burger. The candied bacon was a nice touch, although being a chubby boy, I wouldn't mind a little more mayo [aoli]. I would definitely have this again, but next time I might try that BLT. It sounds delicious. On to the beer, I found them all good but none really stood out per se. This is really no fault of theirs. I think as breweries have become more common, the quality overall has improved. All the Master Brewers are well trained in the art of the common beers. While the consistency is great, sometimes I miss the unique brews that would pop up. I do wish their beers were colder but regarding flavors and feel, very solid beers. My biggest issue with the brewery was the prices. My flight of beers was $2O, which I don't think 4oz servings should average $5 each. That is beyond excessive, especially since they were all low ABV beers except for one. And while I think the burger pricing was on par with most restaurants, I am surprised they don't at least offer chips for the $16 price point. This didn't bother me as much as the $6.5O 4oz pour of a double IPA. Anyway, while I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, I also wouldn't avoid it. I will never order a flight again though. read more

Found this amazing place while camping at Seven Lakes State Park. We ordered the brisket and turkey sandwiches, which were both SO GOOD!! If I lived closer to Holly, I would come here once a week for the food and solid craft beer! Highly recommend. read more

New brewery that had different owners before. Excellent beer selection from ciders to stouts. If you like ciders def try the peppermint cider, tasty combo but def more cider than mint. The inside is roomy and bar is a great place to sit. The old theme circus artwork is not to be missed, just amazing. They have a great bbq menu that looked and smelled delicious but we were only drinking today. Next visit, definitely getting their smoked pork and brisket. Staff said he gets there early morning to start smoking the meat. And hen they're out they're out. Service is fantastic and personable. Definitely a must visit read more

Once went there for the worst wings in my life, as they were dried out husks that looked like they sat under a heatlamp for 7 hours - but luckily the waitress came over and grabbed the plate from me once she saw I was coughing up dusty stringy bits and gave me a new batch.. but that was years ago. Now I recently went for the Halloween event, and it was an interesting one. Love that they did a halloween event, and event decorated their nice looking hall for it, so major bonus points there. The service was a bit on the skimpy side and our waiter seemed stretched a bit thin as we rarely saw him. The food was interesting - they offered Peanut butter and jelly wings (I was too hesitant to order wings again), but we tried their ginger-pineapple meatballs - and for 10 dollars you got 5-6 meatballs.. that's it, I had a huge chunk of ginger in mine for the one that I got (shared with the table) which was unique.. they were pretty dry though, as it was just a pure ball of beef with no binder, dipped in their tangy sauce. It wasn't bad, but probably nothing i'd get again. The burger I got sounded AMAZING, with brisket and rib meat smash burger patties, garlic aioli, but it was fine. It was woefully underseasoned, wasn't cooked with a lot of salt (which is at least good for you, but the meat was bland), the type of greens they used was an interesting choice as it had stems in it and made the burger hard to eat without ripping out chunks of lettuce from the stems. The burger doesn't come with anything - fries are extra, but it was a sizable burger and is probably good on it's own if you plan on going out for dessert or drinking a lot of beer. The beer was pretty good. Overall, I'd say it's a great venue to go to, I love going just to see what they got going on, but as for their food - they are better than what they were from a while ago (maybe that time was a fluke) but it isn't bad. What an amazing brewery! I was so excited to see them joining the Tagabrew Trail. First of all, Holly is an adorable little town and every town needs a cool hangout with great food and awesome beer. Recently opened, this brewery has fantastic BBQ. If you are in the mood for food to accompany your brews, the Battle Burger was delicious. I suggest ordering a flight of beers to try all of them. I enjoyed learning about the brewery and the story behind the name. The creative murals in the brewery will tell the story. The staff were wonderful and I can't wait to make a trip back. * On a side note, check the specials menu. They might offer a few beers that are not on the main board. read more

I will not be back. We were up in Holly with my parents to celebrate my dad's birthday and we decided to go to Battle Alley. We ordered an appetizer of chips and queso. The chips had no salt and the salsa looked three years old and tasted as such. The plates we got for our chips were dirty. We went through three groups of plates before we got clean ones. It took about a hour and a half to get our food and me and my mom's Mac and cheese was cold. My pulled pork sandwich was tender, juicy and full of flavor! I have been there before and their food is great. We went there on a busy Friday night, completely aware that our large group would be split up, and prepared to be flexible with seating. The lady who came to help us was VERY nice, however, there was a man in a beard who was extremely rude to our group. We took our business elsewhere solely because of that man. Large group? Don't go. Or as the rude man said, make a phone call...even though 90% of the restaurants in the area DON'T take reservations or call ahead seating and life doesn't always work out to plan.... so yea that makes sense. read more

Almost everything was off about this place, the BBQ brisket was insanely dry, the BBQ sauce options were strange, the drinks are served in a can, the atmosphere (and temperature) was cold and dead, the service was nothing to be enamored by, and the overall experience was not even close to being worth a $90 price tag for 2 people with 1 app, 2 mains, and 2 non alcoholic beverages. And the only reasons are...because the chili my husband ordered wasn't even warm, and wouldn't you think with waitresses standing around, they would be 'on top' of getting your food to you right away? Don't get me wrong, our waitress was good. So onto the food, I ordered the battle brisket melt sandwich (one of the recommendations by our waitress), it was EXCELLENT!!! We found this excellent restaurant by accident. We went to Holly to enjoy another establishment we enjoy, but they were unexpectedly closed. A woman walking down the street suggested we try Battle Alley. So glad we did. Both the pulled pork and brisket were terrific. Flavorful without being overly smoked. Absolutely no artificial smoke flavor existed. Their BBQ sauces are good without being overdone. They hit just right. They also have an extensive menu of craft beers, ciders, and wines. Staff was a pleasure to be around. Smiles and hellos present. Atmosphere was joyful. It was a pleasant surprise, and we will return. read more
