Honestly the best thing about the restaurant was the atmosphere and decor. Had a dinner date tonight and overall the experience was ok. Our waitress was pretty good but the food was kinda disappointing. The best thing we had was the clam chowder and the mozzarella sticks. My wife's chili took 15 minutes to get after the rest of us got our entrees. I had the Joe's Mama's Pasta and the sauce was all in the bottom and kinda runny so the pasta wasn't coated and it was a tad bland. It kinda tasted like a pasta version of the Papa John's Italian pizza and not in a good way. The biggest let down was it said "spicy" on the menu and I've had spicier milk.... I gave it three stars just for the high points but none of them were really based on the food. read more

The atmosphere is like a mix between a bar and a sports bar. The lunch crowd is mostly local businesses. They have specials which are always good deals The food is good typical bar food. If you want a burger or a fish and chips this is definitely your place. They're located right in the middle of town across the street from a rite aid so if you need some odds and ends you're close they're near gas stations and schools and other restaurants. And the service wasn't much worse than it usually is however, this time we sat with a table full of dishes and waited an extreme amount of time to get our check and a box. We also waited quite a long time after being seated before we got our drinks. This wasn't a busy time either. It was after 7:00-7:30. Waitress wasn't friendly, but got our order right. Service tends to be a little slow regularly, but tonight it just seemed to be much slower. The food is mediocre nothing special. Anyone who says it's great food likely eats Fast-food too much. I was skeptical looking at their website for their menu because their food pictures they have there actually look really disgusting. I almost didn't go but on the recommendation of someone who had been there I gave it a try and it was great. If the restaurant reads this you either need to have your food items professionally photographed or remove the pictures all together. They are not doing anything to help your business. read more

LeRoy: well I had the privilege of enjoying an antipasto salad with extra pepperoni and salami on our, with thick ranch dressing and a very delicious breadstick. I topped it off with an ice cream peanut butter pie. Katie: I ordered the nacho supreme with ground beef. Let me tell you- supreme is a great word for it! It was more like a mountain of nachos. I took home a pizza sized box of leftovers. I also enjoyed the peanut butter ice cream pie, but could have used it a little bit softer. It was so hard, we bent the spoons!! The food is always amazing! I've never been disappointed with anything I've gotten from here, and the order has never been wrong. The prices are also fair for what you are getting. The service is also great! Every waiter/waitress that I've had here is nice, on top of refills, and reads the table well for how much you want to chat. The ambiance is great if you like a dive bar feel. It's one of the few places in the Grand Blanc area that has the dive feel and it does it well! It's packed on the inside but you still have enough room to get around, and they are usually playing sports on the TV's. Overall I highly recommend this location if you appreciate a good dive bar. Seem to always have the same waitress in there and she remembers and is very friendly, was told we were going to make the cook mad when we ordered bbq on our pizza instead of pizza sauce. We stop for Pizza and beer about monthly. The pie is very good and the beer is very inexpensive--$2 pints of PBR all day, every day. I also sometimes just stop for a beer and some chips and salsa after a workout across the street. Little Joe's Salsa rivals any Mexican restaurant's--it is surprisingly a great authentic Mexican Salsa. Overall, Little Joe's is a great place with reasonable prices, outstanding service and a great atmosphere. BTW, for comparison to a chain restaurant pie, Little Joe's pizza costs Less than Hungry Howie's and is 10 times better. read more

We used to love coming to little joes. We live right downtown Grand Blanc and can walk there with our kids. The last few times we've gone people have been so rude telling us we are not able to sit on the patio with our kids, and then today when falling for carry out the lady on the phone was so rude. I'm not sure what has happened but the customer service lately has not been good and we will not be returning anymore which is a shame because we really used to love it. read more

Good food, but incredibly bad service. My husband and I stopped in here one evening after work with our friend, Jennifer, to have some drinks and dinner. Apparently, we didn't realize the restaurant was closing in exactly one hour when we arrived, but that little tidbit was pointed out to us very matter-of-fact by our server, who made it crystal clear that she was ready to get the hell out of there that night. Still, one would think that about an hour should be plenty of time to order and eat, but she made it seem like time was of the essence. Why not just time our meal with a stopwatch while you're at it? Wow. We should have known right then and there that this might not end well. Granted, we should have taken that as our cue and bailed, but after another server gave her a dirty look, she told us we "had plenty of time to order food." Hmm, okay. She brusquely (and impatiently) asked us if we were ready to order as soon as we sat down, without even handing us menus. Huh? That was weird. We asked for a minute and decided quickly, but by that point, we couldn't even flag her down. She continued to walk by and ignore us, probably secretly hoping that we would just not bother and walk out even though there were about six other tables with guests eating and drinking in the dining room. I guess we should have. Another employee motioned toward our server, forcing her over to our table. She took our drink orders quickly and made a recommendation about a raspberry beer to my friend, but disappeared almost immediately, returning again after a few more minutes to take our food orders. She rolled her eyes when we actually ordered food. As it turned out, she was not the least bit knowledgeable about the beers at all. The raspberry-flavored beer she suggested to my friend tasted nothing like raspberry and was bitter (I sampled hers, trust me, it was not good). Jennifer then switched to something else on draft, while I had a Whisky Sour and my husband downed a Manhattan. Both mine and my husband's drinks were solid, so I knew the bar had it together. By this point, still waiting on food and the hour ticking down (even though there were still several people eating and drinking around us), we were worried we wouldn't have time to eat, let alone enjoy our meal. Our garden salads showed only moments before the main entrees did. Talk about odd timing. Our server was nearly impossible to locate during this time. I don't know where she went, but she wasn't attending to tables at all. Both Jennifer and I ordered the Baked Mac and Cheese (larger dish, sans meat), while my husband had the Blackened Chicken Pasta with Alfredo sauce. I had to admit, the food looked great. Once I bit into mine, it was almost worth the wait and lousy service- almost. That mac and cheese dish was excellent, very savory and filled with high quality cheeses, perfectly seasoned, served with a nice, buttery bread stick on the side. I love baked mac and cheese, so I'm always on the lookout for the best out there. My husband enjoyed his dish as well- or at least as much as one can enjoy their meal while wolfing it down because the restaurant is going to close soon. Seriously, by the time we got our food, it was 15-20 minutes until closing. Our impatient server then brought us a second round of drinks at last call, even though I don't remember ordering them. Now that was weird. First, she couldn't be bothered with us, then we barely had time to eat and then she was shoving a final round of drinks on us. Um, okay. As for ambiance, it was definitely cute and cozy. Even the bar area looked inviting to sit down and wet your whistle. When it came to the food, it was definitely solid. The service, however, was a huge turnoff. If we had another server, I'm sure our experience would have been entirely different, but she put the damper on our evening in a major way. I'd give them four stars for the food and ambiance, but the service was so bad and inhospitable, it only merits one star, so overall it's barely three stars. I'm not even sure if I would bother to return now, but if I did, I would head straight for the door if I saw that server again. read more

Little Joe's, I find you to be a consistently average place. A so-so place. A just alright place. A place where I'd get a burger or sandwich and feel full and satisfied, perhaps even pleased! Aaaand that's about the extent of it. Service was great on the last visit, food was mediocre (the kid's burger is actually just a patty and bread! and here I was thinking tomato slices and a piece of lettuce were mandatory burger accouterments...). If patio seats are available, I highly suggest snapping them up. It may be a few degrees warmer, but they have big umbrellas for shade, and man is it loud in the dining room when the floor is full. read more

Little Joe's is the little down home dive where everybody knows everybody and you all come to wish away the work week and welcome the weekend. It carries an old style down home charm and can get busy real quickly when it comes close to peek times. The menu features your normal comfort bar food that includes pizza, sandwiches, burgers, chicken strips and some easy Mexican dishes. It's good food, but could be a little better. The chicken strips I had were a little bland, but the server was nice enough to bring out all of their sauces for me to sample. Speaking of service, this place is top notch. I was visiting (and we had a decent size table with some family who came for the meal) and the server was super nice to wait for us to figure out what we were doing and also gave me a detailed run down of the beer menu and pointed out some items off of the menu that he liked. I'm glad he had our table. And also, speaking of beer, Little Joe's has some old stand bys... Miller, Coors, etc..., but they do feature a nice little microbrew collection. Our server suggested that I pair up my meal with a Bells Brewery seasonal. To sum it up, if you're looking for a nice place to unwind, relax and catch up with good friends and family (and possibly knock back a couple of cold ones) Little Joe's is a good place to be. read more
