All around fine. The customer service in the front is helpful but not always the most friendly. The exam rooms are fine. The icing on the cake was when we went with my 1mo today, they forgot to come back and provide a vaccination for over 20 minutes. I had to find a nurse and ask for assistance. I'm sure they were busy or someone dropped the ball, but trying to console my undressed baby waiting for a vaccine is not my idea of a fun morning. I will say that as a freshly postpartum mom, a little bit of warmth goes a long way. We will keep trying and amend our review if our experience changes, but this morning was not a great one. read more

They gave us a letter stating that for 30 days we could still be seen, but when we called about our son, who had a 105 fever, they hung up and didn't call us back. This whole group is just about how fast to get the patients in and out. How many patients can they see in an hour. All Staff is miserable, nurses and ma's are rushed running around not happy at all, one nurse said sorry she had to rush because she had too much of a workload. You will notice how dismissive and quick they need to be. In another office that is open later, an MA untrained gave my child one antibiotic injection. I had to come back and have my child get another dose. This time is was 2 injections. I questioned why it was 2, I was told because they can only put so much of the dose in each thigh that it has to be 2 injections. Oh, and the first one was in the arm. So this MA gave too much in my child's arm, which was suppose to be administered in the thigh. Though, this is what really got me, they wanted an MA to do a urinary cath on my child and she had to stop because she did not know how to do it, and it was not sterile. I come to find out it should be sterile and the MA are not allowed to perform any invasive procedure such as that. I never went back after that and found a great pediatric office with a great happy environment and not at all rushed. read more

We went to Tenafly Pediatrics based on the recommendation from others in our community who use them for their children. Generally I'm very understanding when it comes to services and generally arrive earlier than my appointed time being cognizant of other people schedules. 9 out of 10 times I'm usually waiting about 10 to 20 minutes to be seen by someone at Tenafly Pediatrics from my scheduled appointment time. This isn't the issue I'm complaining about but merely want to highlight one of the issues. The main issue I'm highlighting today is that I had a 2ndflu shot appointment for my 7 month old daughter. By standard processes this is a quick in and out service today but I did ask the nurse if a doctor could quickly see my daughter as she had a bump on her head. I was told that no one was available and I needed to make an appointment. I get that and I highlighted that generally I do however this just came out of nowhere. Wouldn't someone be able to see my daughter for 2 minutes while I'm there? The answer was still no and that I had to make an appointment. She said that that the doctor was seeing a patient right now and then has another patient next. I tried to plead my case further saying I'm already here and this is out of the ordinary. Still the nurse didn't care and just wanted to give her the 2nd flu shot and move on. For a pediatric practice that focuses on kids I'm sure they understand all kinds of situations with children and things do occur. I'm not asking to speak to a doctor about basic questions but to ask about a bump on her head. For a service that is supposed to be focused on service, this is the most asinine response they could have given anyone and not be helpful. After my daughter got her shot, I made the appointment per the nurse's instructions for the same day, 2 hours later. As a parent who is already there and has to bring back their kid out in the snow, I'm sure other parents can relate as to how insensitive and troubling it can be. We don't do it to be a pain when we ask for someone to quickly look at our kid but more for the welfare of our child. We have been going to the Tenafly Pediatrics in Hoboken for about 2 years and honestly they are really quite terrible. They make you feel as if you are always inconveniencing them. The front staff is so incredibly rude and when you call they have zero compassion, empathy, or kindness. In a business that is dealing with sick kids and scared parents I'd highly recommend they retrain their staff to be kind. Terrible and biased staff, avoid this place like the plague. If you are a father they will withhold your child's health records, change medical records, and will take sides of a custody battle (altering visitation records and documents), without any understanding of what happened. I asked if my daughter had any appointments coming up and they specifically said no- and did not allow me to make an appointment with my daughter even though I have full custody due to being violently assaulted in front of my own daughter. Specifically, the actions were taken by Dr Patel as well as the front-desk staff. Luckily I have plenty of evidence and caught them doing this- I will be pursuing further actions. read more

Tenafly Pediatrics has the best team of physicians, nurses and staff. My teens have been patients there since they were infants, and I was a Tenafly Peds patient when I was a child. Getting an appointment is always easy to do (7 days a week), the wait times once there are never more than 5-10 minutes (if even that long), call backs from the doctors after hours is usually within 5 minutes. I fully trust them with my children's health and highly recommend them. read more

We have been there regularly for my son's frequent coughs due to allergies and colds as well as annual check ups. They are good at scheduling last minute appointments to follow up on my kid's health and good at returning calls as well as making calls to follow up and see if my kid is doing better. We have seen 4 different doctors here. The best were the lady doctors, Dr. Aranoff and Dr. Clark. They have prescribed inhalers, steroids etc. I just wish they had prescribed the steroid earlier to stop my kid's cough. My son is getting better slowly but surely. The have weekend hours albeit only at the Tenafly and Teaneck locations but I wish they were open on the weekends at the Fort Lee location too. They ask you to call when you arrive to give you a room number to go to. There is no large waiting room but maybe that is due to covid? read more

The doctors are for the most part amazing! We see Dr. Sugarman as both our children's primary's and she's a gem. She's everything you hope for in a doctor. Sometimes we have to see another doctor and for the most part they're also awesome. So why 1 Star? The front desk staff is par with going to the DMV. Want to check out? Prepare to be treated like you're wasting their time - ask a question? Be ready to be treated like an idiot for asking. Is it fair to give a 1 star review for one person? In my opinion yes - when one person who is customer facing is as awful as this person is it ruins the whole experience and guarantees that you leave in a terrible mood hoping that you come across another wonderful doctor that you can switch to. As a parent of three grown children who used Tenefly Pediatrics for many years, I can tell you I felt very comfortable and trusted this group. Having raised 2 sons and a daughter, we must have seen every pediatrician in the group over the years. I had one of my kids hospitalized too and felt comfortable with my pediatrician 's decisions during that course. I felt bad when they each turned 21 and had to move on to a general GP. Now that I have just become a grandmother, my son has chosen to take his child to Tenefly Pediatrics too. He has found comfort in knowing his son will receive the same wonderful care he did as a child growing up. I saw Dr. Smith twice as it was the weekend, and my regular doctor was not available. There is something very unsettling about a pediatrician who does not appreciate questions from a parent. My first visit was before school started and my son was recovering from bronchitis, and while his lungs were already clear, he was still coughing. He needed one last vaccine to be admitted to school. I asked for a note for an extra week to fully recover. Dr. Smith said he sees no point, and recommended to proceed with the vaccine. I had a bad feeling, and unfortunately it was justified. He wound up catching a nasty flu, because his body was OBVIOUSLY not 100% ready to receive a vaccine. The second visit was for recurring strep. He was given antibiotics the first time, and the strep returned weeks later. My son had terrible vomiting and diarrhea for well over a week after the antibiotic course. Dr. Smith explained it as "gastro problems occur during treatment." I am aware of that, but common sense has to also be present. There is something missing in the medical community, where doctors don't want to think outside the box. Treatment and diagnoses are given by a one-way street. This is the reason for Functional Medicine coming forth, because each person is an individual. If a medical problem is recurring, antibiotics alone and makes our children even more susceptible. I had to call my old pediatrician who is amazing at THINKING, and her advice was very different as Dr. Smith. If a doctor sounds condesending to your questions, see another doctor. We hire them. Our appointment was for 3:45PM, we show early and waited over an hour to be seen by the Dr. We were there a total of TWO HOURS!.. for a routine office visit?! Need to find a new Pediatric Dr. The front reception staff needs training in customer service and learn how to be polite as well. The only reason I stay with this practice is because of Dr. Steifl who is a wonderful and caring pediatrician with the best bed side manner, particularly when interacting with children. The office staff on the other hand are terrible, as many other reviews have mentioned. They have a very unfriendly tone and always seem inconvenienced. The nurses for the most part have been nice, except for Leslie Molk. Avoid if you can. Not sure how she made it to a pediatric center, but she has the worst bedside manner for even adult standards, let alone children. They nickel and dime you for every little thing including charging an "after hour fee" if the visit runs its course past their closing time after having you wait 30 mms because they were running late on their appointments. So. I am not so found of my pediatrian's office as of 4:00pm this afternoon. My son had a sick visit early yesterday morning and was prescribed a medication which I couldn't get because it needed prior authorization from the doc's office. I called the pharmacy this morning to find out the status of the medication - I was told they left a message at the doctors office and they can't do anything until they hear from the office. I drcided to give some time then called the office around 4pm because my son was in discomfort. The phone rang and whoever picked up said "Tenafly Pediatrics", at which point I stated that I'm calling about my son and gave his name. Before I can finish saying his name, the lady was reading off a number (assuming she was looking at the screen or something) and then she hung up. If she did not hear anyone on the other line, isn't it the norm to say hello again to see if there's anyone on the other line??!! I called the office back and had to press 0 four time until I got through to the front desk - it was a different receptionist. I proceeded to tell her about the medication and how the pharamcy needed prior authorization- she immediately told me that no one called the office. She then said, "hold on" and put me on hold and few seconds later said she was messaging the doctor and that he should be in contact with me. My issue with this whole incident is that although the pharmacy called them yesterday morning, no action was taken until I called to followed up. Had they checked the messages, I'm sure that the doctor would have gotten back to me probably yesterday afternoon or this morning to let me know what he's going to do about the medication. The office can get pretty busy and I understand but it's just plain laziness at this point when they don't even bother to check before answering a question and not even do anything until the patient calls to find out what's going on. read more

I never write reviews on doctors offices, but I must say I was very impressed with Tenafly Pediatrics in Paramus. I was seeing a doctor in englewood whom when I called for my daughter breaking out in a rash told me to put AD ointment on it that this was eczema and when I said my daughter was vommiting I was told to switch formula (no help in what kind) and she just rushed me off the phone. I was VERY unhappy I asked family and friends for recommendations and I was told Tenafly Pediatrics. From calling to book the appointment, the staff was beyond friendly. The nurses were happy to be there with smiles on their face. The doctor spoke to the baby kindly and I felt my daughter really was ok with the doctor because of her tone of voice and gentleness. Turned out my daughter had an allergic reaction to milk based formula. The doctor prescribed hypoallergenic formula and it was like I was given a new baby! We went from sleeping 4/6 hours a day to now a normal 16-18 hours a day. Mind you this 4 hours a day and crying non stop went on for 4 weeks while my former pediatrician called this "normal" as I went back every week claiming this could not be normal, and wanted answers. It took me 7 doctors appointments with my former pediatrician and NO answers, and one appointment with Tenafly Pediatrics and I got the answer and a solution. As you can imagine I signed her medical records over to Tenafly Pediatrics and will now be going there! I wish I would have started with Tenafly Pediatrics and saved myself money, time and got more sleep. They are more then willing to allow you to see a doctor there as a second opinion because that's how I was going into the appointment but the experience was just amazing and I walked out a happy mom and knew that this was the right doctor for us ! read more

Every time I go to see them due to my kids feeling ill I'm told "there is nothing we can do" I am also told to watch their breathing and if it gets heavy or if they get worse to bring them back. Here is your bill for services. I gave them 2 stars because they are clean. They really don't do anything for your kids unless they are super sick. Agree with Michelle. My son has been going here since birth and every time we see the doctors there, they are always very helpful and have a terrific bedside manner. I'm a new mom, so I typically have a ton of questions at each visit and they are always patient and answer each thoroughly. Every doctor I've ever been to in my life charges you for everything--this isn't anything new. If Mike L. saw what my bills were for having my son, he'd probably fall over. They charge like everyone else does. I love the doctors here, they have very convenient locations, and have always been quick to respond to after hour sick calls. read more

Terrible front office. Just plain mean. I have gone there for 17 years and have 4 children. Every time I go I think to myself I should look for another office. Just recently I had an appointment for three of my kids and when I arrived they said they couldn't find my insurance. I was not able to have my children seen until the insurance question was settled. By the time it became clear that I did have insurance my appointment times had past and she said that she could only see one of my children. I had taken the day off of work for this and got 3 kids including a 3 year old to the office by 9 am. I had never had a problem paying or with my insurance in 17 years. This is not your local caring group. It appears to be all about money and even if we were seen we would have been rushed by the doctor as I noticed has been happening in the last 4 years. They lost 4 patients and any more that I could tell not to go there. read more
