There is a LONG-WINDED message, encouraging to leave a voicemail for an appt???....then you are on HOLD forever!!! I need to stop by to ask for my kids records to switch somewhere else. As other reviewers mentioned, this practice no longer answers the phones in under twenty minutes. This makes it really inconvenient to schedule appointments with their doctors and is not something I have experienced with other doctors. They say they will call you back later in the day or they say to text them, which are all very impractical when you are trying to contact them when you are available. The place is filled with patients, so I would have to think that the doctors could afford to hire assistants to answer the phone and answer questions as any business does. As for the doctors, most of them are excellent. Some of them only work a few days a week. Wait times are usually long as well. If you are starting out with babies, you may want to look for a practice that is a little "hungrier" and willing to answer the phones and show up to work. read more

Our previous Dr. was withholding my children's medical records and making my transition to switch providers very painful. Valley pediatrics fought for my children, and helped me to more of an extent than I can explain. They have been so professional, kind, and caring, they always answer the phone & if I need an appointment, it's booked same day, Most of the time within that hour. I am so thankful I found this office, the doctors are amazing, the nurses and staff in general are so nice especially Linda at the front desk, she is so professional & makes sure your taken care of the right way. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. My son was a patient of Valley Pediatric for 19 plus years, since birth. He is a college student that has been away for a couple of years and hadn't transitioned to an adult doctor and had only gone to urgent care for an occasional cold. My son recently needed to see a doctor for some urgent health needs and so I called Valley Pediatric. The office wouldn't even call back, but rather texted back that he was no longer their patient because he had not been there in 2 years and could not help him. I wrote, are you kidding me? He has been a patient for 19 plus years and you have all of his records, but because he didn't have an annual physical since he was away at college you kicked him to the curb when he's sick? It's ridiculous and you should be ashamed of your staff. My son really needed to see a doctor. I had to take him to urgent care and ultimately the ER because your practice, Valley Pediatrics, would not see him. What about the Hippocratic oath that doctors take to ethically care for people? read more

I recently made the switch the Valley Pediatrics and had a very pleasant experience. Dr. Nicpon and Dr. Shevlev were kind and knowledgeable. We are dealing with a possible food allergy issue and they made it top priority, were patient and attentive. Jessica at the front desk was warm, welcoming and very efficient throughout the enrollment process. I would certainly recommend Valley Peds. read more

Better off at urgent care After our beloved pediatrician passed, we became new patients here. 1: Call, put it on speaker and walk away for 30 min to see if anyone has picked up 2: You wait on the phone, wait in the car and then wait in the examination room-DO NOT park in the 90min zone, you will not be out in 90 min. Oh and parking is pretty bad. 3: Son was sick, wasn't getting better, after 2 appointments finally suggested blood work-8 days later phone call diagnosing mono. Symptoms going on 2-3weeks, way too long to have a sick child and not have any idea what's wrong. 4: Son had flu symptoms, appointment was at 4, got the virus swab and was told to check portal in an hour and if flu was positive to call back to get meds. Shouldn't they call me? Back on hold for 30 min or more...oh wait the results were never posted. Called back the next day, kid fever higher than previous day, test results cannot be found and they will call me back. Is the office staff nice...sure, are the dr's knowledgeable...probably, but if you can't get the help you need when you need it then why bother? We will be leaving the practice. read more

Doctor Ligenza is the most caring and knowledgeable pediatrician you will ever meet. Yes, wait times are long but if I have to wait for a doctor who treats his patients like gold, I will. He always personally follows up and goes above and beyond for his patients. He's even checked on my kids on his days off and to keep a long story short saved my daughters life 5 years ago. I've never had an issue scheduling an appointment and all the doctors are very nice. read more

Doctors refused to diagnose a sinus infection for a month that led to ocular cellulitis. This practice does not deserve the excellent reputation of Valley hospital. If you have your child at Valley, go elsewhere for routine care and checkups. The staff here is negligent, and are so afraid of overprescribing basic antibiotics for bacterial infections they will risk blindness. They also can't figure out how to prescribe a topical antibiotic for skin infection from diaper rash. read more

I must say that I am disgusted at the fact that Yelp has gone and removed my recent review and changed the number of stars given to Valley Pediatrics. Just because I spoke the truth about the practice and how amazing Dr. Shevelev is! I truly don't where I would be without her guidance. If you want an amazing practice where your child will always be treated as a priority, Valley pediatrics is the place. Below is my original comment that was removed without my permission. I have been with Valley Pediatrics for over 12 years now, and I'm so grateful to the practice. I have seen doctors at both locations; since one of the many advantages of the practice is the size -- you can always see someone. I have been extremely happy with the skills of the doctors and nurses. The education of the doctors was VERY important to me. This practice had the educational credentials across the board to make me and my family very comfortable. They are also up to date on the latest research, and able to speak in an intelligent way about current medical issues out there. I have to say, that Dr. Shevelev gives me the best relief. I know every time I see her she treats my family like her own. She cares so much for her patients and it is shown with the way she treats us. Gives us so much attention and educates us on what to do. She is very personable and knows how to make girls feel comfortable; especially teenage years. I am forever greatful to Dr. Shevelev and Valley Pediatric staff for always being there for me and my family, no matter what day or time! Valley pediatrics is a 5 star in my book! read more

We LOVE Dr Shevlev. However, we had a terrible experience with another doctor at this practice. Shevlev recommended we get the Covid vaccine for our one year old. I came in on appointment day, and Dr Nipcon (who I'd never met and didn't know my son) told me not to get the vaccine because there 'wasn't enough research'. This was about a month ago. There's a blonde nurse at the Ramsey office who chimed in and said she didn't get her teenager vaccinated either, and that it took a year or so because she 'didn't trust the research'. I was horrified, but we left with no vaccine. Two weeks later my son got a horrible case of Covid - fever for days, wouldn't eat, and endless crying. I wouldn't wish that on any parent - to see your baby like that. I couldn't help feeling like the doctor and the nurses recommendations were political, and it was very confusing. Every other ped in the practice recommends the vaccine. It's a bad look, and Dr. Nipcon and this horrible nurse should be ashamed of themselves for giving this kind of advice to parents with young children. I want to leave the practice but just love Shevlev so much. She's the best, but steer clear of Dr Nipcon and this nurse (Chelsea is the best nurse) read more

This practice has been a shining star during Covid. I keep hearing horror stories from friends about what happens at other practices and I am incredibly grateful for Dr. Shevelev. She has been my rock since my kids were born and has been with us through thick and thin. The other doctors have also been great on the occasions we have seen them. I am writing in regards to the Ramsey office. The doctors are great. The front desk receptionist however, is extremely rude & seems to enjoy hanging up on patients apparently when they attempt to make an appointment. I read a post here where someone experienced the same thing. I too have been hung up on after having waited after being placed on hold. I do believe that this office would be better off with a different receptionist. Possibly someone who actually enjoys doing their job and does it politely. Aside from that, I would rate the doctors a 5/5 for the Ramsey office. The customer service in regards to the front desk receptionist is however very poor. read more

Valley Pediatrics have been my pediatrician for the past 3 1/2 yrs and I couldn't be happier! All the Drs are wonderful, caring, intelligent and straight forward. When my son was 7 months old, He was very very sick. Dr Shevelev had diagnosed him with Kawasaki as early as 3 days before the disease fully came out. He had to go to the hospital and stay over night but it was incredible to see how quickly he returned back to himself. We are so blessed on how early Dr Shevelev caught this horrible disease! If she didn't catch it early enough, my son could of develop heart issues. She is such an amazing Dr and I would recommend her and her team to everyone I know! read more

I've just about had it with the Ho Ho Kus office. My 4 year old and 18 month old have been patients since birth and the doctors are just wonderful. Really exceptional care from all of them. My issue is with the absurd wait times. It's miserable with squirmy babies and kids. Even once you make it out of the waiting room you always end up waiting forever in the exam room to be seen. I spend an average of an hour and a half here with each routine visit. The front desk woman is typically in a horrible mood. You also spend far too much time on hold just to make an appointment. I wish the experience were better because I do love the doctors but I'm ready to change doctors now because I'm just too frustrated with time it takes for a routine check up. read more

The doctors are fine although sometimes seem a little rushed. My complaint is with the office administration. There is NO sense of customer service or personal touch with patients or parents. I am writing this on my phone from the waiting room where I am sitting waiting for my daughter's check-up appointment which was scheduled for 30-minutes ago. We were on time. The doctors are never on time in the 15-years I have been coming here. I fully expect to wait 45-minutes every time I come and they never disappoint. It is disrespectful to ask patients to wait for so long; why is our time less valuable than theirs? They need to tighten up their scheduling practices so patients don't have such long waits. If you value your time and don't want often-times snippy staff and un-accommodating rules (i.e. Charging excessive amounts for copies of records), do not come to this practice. PS they just called my daughter after a 45-minute wait for a check-up/well-visit. Just like usual! read more

Unreasonably long wait even though I arrived 15 min early. As a first time patient we waited 45 min until we saw a doctor. This was very difficult with a squirmy 9 months old. Prior to this visit I went with my 2 yr old and again waited long to be called in and once we were in the room we waited another 20 min to be seen by a doctor. Not easy to wait long when you are in a small room with children. read more

Front desk staff is very unpleasant. Calling to make an appt is always a hussle as you will be placed in hold forever. It's easier to juat drive by and schedule one. Even though the doctors are good, the wait time for every appt is at least an hour which I find to be unreasonable when you have an infant. Sometimes it is 1.5 hours. read more

The doctors are great. The front desk on the other hand is why I am debating on switching offices. It's really a shame. The one front desk lady is extremely rude and always in a bad mood and "having a bad day" she's not polite to the parents or other staff members. She is very loud and I hear her complaining about one thing or another every time I am in the waiting room. The front desk is the number one reason why I hate going to this office. The other reason is we always wait at least 40 minutes. Always. Such a shame because we love all the doctors there. read more

I liked it here until my daughter turned 1. Then everything changed Dr. Shevelev would have the vitamin Rx written in her hand when she entered the exam room. Then rushed through a physical exam and was ready to run out the door before I could ask her any questions. Our most recent visits we were there every week for three weeks. The first visit Dr. Kim wrote a Rx. The second visit Dr. shevelev told us to try many different things and refilled the same RX but never ran any diagnostics to see what was the cause off the issue was. Only the symptoms were being treated they were not looking for the cause of the symptoms . We went to urgent care on a weekend for the same issue unfortunately they could not run the diagnostic testing in there office and said it is your pediatricians job to do so. The urgent care Dr. told me to start looking into a different practice. The third visit to valley pediatrics was with Dr. Leifer she was willing to run diagnostics because she saw how annoyed I was that my daughter was still not well after 3 weeks and 3 visits. The morning of the third visit I sent a fax requesting my daughters records. I requested my daughter's records during the third visit. Valley pediatrics told me that it could take up to 30 days to get her records and that it will cost $25 to get 30 photocopied pages. So we found another pediatricians office where they ran diagnostics the first time she was seen. I do not recommend valley pediatrics! read more

I can't say enough positive things about Valley Pediatrics and Dr. Shevelev! She is the most caring, compassionate and knowledgable Doctor out there. She always answers all my questions, makes time to see both my children if I have any concerns, even if it means squeezing us in. My 3 week old son had an emergency on a Sunday and she took charge, came to the ER, ordered the necessary tests and ultimately saved his life. My husband and I are forever grateful for her and absolutely LOVE her and the rest of the doctors and staff at Valley Peds. We would never let anyone but Valley Pediatrics care for our children! read more

Ok, I have to write a review because the one that's on here is completely ridiculous. How can you give a doctor's office 3 stars based on the fact they wouldn't open early one day? I have been using Valley Pediatrics for 12 years for all three of my children, and they have been nothing but wonderful. There is one snarky nurse, but there always has to be one, right? Everyone there has been there for what seems like forever - and being a nurse myself, I know that is a sign of job satisfaction in a doctor's office. A great environment with great people, very little turnover. The doctors are all very caring, great with kids, and very experienced. If I have anything negative to say, maybe it's that there has been some overcaution taken on a few occasions - yet at the same time, Dr. Kim caught RSV in my son when he was 5 months old. It was 8 o'clock at night and he told me to come right over. Within minutes he knew my son needed to go to the hospital, and he was right, although it wasn't terribly obvious yet. We've been happy there, and so have our kids. read more

This review is for the Ramsey office. LOVE the doctors. Can not stand the front desk receptionist. If she even bothers to acknowledge that you're in the waiting room, she's incredibly dismissive. And I wish it were just in person but she's even worse over the phone. Walked in and she's gossiping in the phone. 15 minutes and 4 other patients later she decides to hang up and pay us some attention. It's so incredibly frustrating and if these doctors were smart they'd give her a brush up on client service. read more

My husband and I have just had our first baby, and we were recommended to this office by my OB/GYN. I was nervous at first, like any first time parent. However after meeting with Dr. Nicpon for a prenatal appointment, our worries were eased. He was very professional, friendly, and patient. He answered all of our questions and went over topics that we hadn't thought to ask about. He was the one to see the baby in the hospital, and we've seen just about all of the other doctors since he's been born. I have to say, we love them all. Dr. Kim, Dr. Liefer, Dr. Ligenza, and Dr. Shevelev are all so great. You can really tell they love what they do. We also really loved he fact that they are not pushy at all. When we had quit one and doubts about vaccinations, Dr. Ligenza took a lot of extra time in our son's appointment to answer our questions and explain things to us. Our first visit was with Dr. Kim, he pointed out that our son was looking a bit Jaundice and had us go to the hospital for testing, and he called us within the hour after the testing had been done. Thank God, he was fine and just needed a little more time and more feeding to get rid of the jaundice, but we really appreciated the quick response. There's nothing worse than worrying and waiting for your brand new baby's test results. Dr. Liefer was great with our son and offered some wonderful advice on using pacifiers. Dr. Shevelev was very patient when I've called to ask questions about little things that I noticed on the baby in the next few weeks. I'm sure they get those questions all the time, but she made me feel at ease. You can't go wrong at this practice, they're all wonderful doctors! read more

Love all of the doctors at Valley Pediatrics. My son was in the hospital a few months ago. I received daily visits there, as well as phone calls at home to check in on him. The staff has always gone above and beyond for me, especially when an emergency arises and they need to squeeze one of my children into their already busy day. I read some reviews complaining of the wait time. For me that's a non-issue. I know that if I need more time with the Dr I'm seeing, I am given that time. I'd rather wait to know that my child is receiving the best possible care. read more

I have been going to Valley Pediatrics for over 15 years after switching from another practice. The Doctors are great as well as the staff. They are helpful especially Crystal who does the referrals for insurance. My insurance requires referrals for every specialist which can be very frustrating. She has been unbelievable in getting them to me quickly. There even was a time that I called her in the am for an emergency visit with a Dr. and it was done that day so we could see the specialist that afternoon. I am a nurse and know what it takes to run a great practice. This is that practice. read more

I am horrified to see such a review! My son has been with this practice for 3 yrs and we go to Ramsey just to see the receptionist. Anytime I have needed a referral she has it done that same day she is always accommodating . She is so sweet and kind and loves the children. She knows everyone by name which means a lot.
