Would not recommend this business to any family. Dramatically over charged us for services that are very standard ie cavities, crowns, root canals making it so that for three of my kids they wanted 3500 dollars out of pocket (after each kid has a 2k allotment from insurance). They do not offer a payment plan. More importantly they refused to work on my autistic son today. They insisted on near 400 dollars out of pocket to even come in and then refused to work on him because he was crying and moving his head. HAS ANY KID NOT CRIED WHEN GETTING A CAVITY FILLED? Try a kid that struggles with transitions and is sensitive to pain. He's crying every night in pain anyway and the only solution they had was to give me a script for Amoxicillin and tell me to make an appointment in a few months where they can put him to sleep. I have no idea what to do now to help him- I guess look for another dentist that actually cares about kids. read more

Dr.Ostrow and her staff are simply amazing. I go every 6 months for my routine cleaning and the ladies are always so nice and accommodating. I also visit Dr Kathy as well for routine retainer checks, and again the staff is very welcoming. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my routine check ups. I definitely recommend Dr Ostrow and her staff! Saw my daughter for 5 minutes, $150 consult. Did not explain anything despite having questions and told me to go to the front for quotes. My daughters cavity was really bad and they Scheduled an appointment for March?! Do not come here. Found a better childrens dentist the next day. They don't care about you- they want your money. It was crowded here and too many patients seen at the same time and she did not take the time to go over anything. read more

I had a really good experience here. My son is 4 and very scared of doctors but the staff was wonderful- informative, patient, professional, and kind. I was also very nervous and hesitant to let them sedate my child for cavity work but all of their recommendations were correct and they helped us through it from beginning to end. They are great with the children and the atmosphere is really nice there. I will be returning and highly recommend them. read more

I don't recommend this dentist. They try to squeeze in as many appointments as possible so there are times when the waiting room is standing room only, and they call you in 45 minutes after your appointment time--not fun with kids who were not allowed to eat anything past midnight. They are not patient with children who have any kind of fear or anxiety, and recommend sedation right away. If your child is undergoing a procedure they strap them to a table (my daughter said her wrists hurt) and you are not allowed to stay in the room with them, which only increases the child's anxiety. My first visit and my last to this office. The front staff is friendly and courteous. The doctor we saw was Dr. Liya Ostrow she is very unprofessional and rude. Briefly comes in to the room to tell us our son needs surgery does not want to answer any questions we had and treated us like we are some third world citizens. Her secretary comes in after to do her job. Never again with this dentist. As a doctor you should be more professional and caring especially when dealing with peoples children. Save your time and money and find a different dentist to deal with. The whole objective is too squeeze as much money as possible through insurance. read more

Never had an issue with this place until today. I don't want my son out of my sight at a doctor/dental office with adults I do not know. Ever since he was 3 the Chinese woman constantly expects me to have me wait out in the waiting room as she takes my son with her for his cleaning. They say due to covid they don't want parents watching their kids but I refuse to sit in the waiting room when I can't have eyes on my son. This time she wouldn't take no for an answer when she told me to sit in the waiting to and she continued to stare at me with her eyebrows raised and giggle in disbelief. I assume she doesn't have children. Then the dentist came over and spoke down to me saying they don't allow parents in unless the kid is throwing a fit. You mean to tell me no other parents of YOUNG children disagree with these people wanting to make them wait in the waiting room? No thanks. I've heard about way too many horror stories about health care workers doing things to children behind closed doors. My kid isn't even in school yet. I am not leaving him in the care of people I DO NOT KNOW and they were not willing to accept that or even think my explanation was logical. Absolutely insane and very odd and concerning... don't leave your children with these people who refuse to let you watch them do their job. It's very frightening. They are constantly rushing as well. Please stay away from this place at all costs. They are good for simple procedures like cleaning because the kind nurses take care Very well. But for procedures like my 2 year old needed it's a total ripoff and mind you they will make sure they do at least the cleaning read brushing every visit even if not necessary just to charge around $200 towards insurance. My kid had tooth decay and the dentist Lisa Ostrow immediately recommended steel crowns for the baby teeth that will eventually fall off. Also she recommended sedation using IV which my insurance doesn't cover and I'd have to pay $2k extra. Total charges with insurance came out to around $5000. Luckily we found kidzdental in Old bridge that accepted my insurance and the whole estimate came out to be $500 with insurance and way better staff and dentist. read more

I would not recommend this dentist to at all. Yes the staff is friendly and I have never had issues with their cleanings, once my daughter needed to have work done that is where the problems started. My daughter needed a filing and they told me she would have to have a sedative juice in addition to nitrious for a filing. They strap the children to a table so they can not move to do the work. The first filing I got there because I thought the dentist knew what was best for my daughter . It cost be around 400$ after insurance because of the sedative and gas not being covered. The next visit the dentist tells me my daghter needs 2 crowns to be done to her baby teeth, the bill would have been around 1200 after insurance so I went for a second opinion and I am so glad I did. I brought the exrays that Tender smiles did a few days prior to the new dentist-First the tooth they were claiming needed to have a crown my new dentist said was completely unnecessary and then the new dentist asked me if tender smiles mentioned that my daughters tooth (the filing they worked on) had an abscess in it. (So 3 days before TENDER SMILES did not tell me my child had an abscess). I don't know how or why the dentist wouldn't have told me this, as she needed antibiotics to clear it. So (when I went to our new dentist, I was in the room with my daughter while she got a filing, just using nitrious, they do not strap your children down and just start drilling!) LONG STORY SHORT I THINK THE DENTIST IS ONLY HERE FOR THE MONEY AND WHAT SHE CAN GET PARENTS TO PAY AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HER ACTUAL PATIENTS AND THAT"S WHY SHE WOULD RATHER DRUG THEM UP RATHER THEN TAKE THE TIME AND CALM THE CHILD DOWN TO RELAX FOR THE DENTAL WORK read more
