I absolutely love Tender Touch! I've been taking my two tea cup Yorkie's; Bear & Bugatti here for almost two years now. There is no other place I'd trust with my dainty dogs other than T.T! The staff is beyond accommodating and friendly! The prices can be a little much, but the quality is worth it! I also love how you can bring in your pup for a touch up. $5 for face, $7 for nails cut if you don't want to pay for a full grooming. They've even been able to squeeze my dogs in on a busy Saturday. I highly recommend Tender Touch! Parking can be a hit or miss but I've never had a problem. read more

I tried Tender Touch today for the very first time. I had a very good experience, considering I called very last minute and they had times available same day. I was quoted a price over the phone for my very large Golden Retriever, giving both his weight and height, a price which seemed reasonable to me. However, when I first arrived I was told that the price would go up because he was 'much larger' than what she had pictured over the phone. I had already made the trip and it was over a hundred degrees outside and wasn't about to go somewhere else. I very kindly asked the owner if she was somewhat wiling to negotiate on the price I was quoted and we met halfway, although next time she said I would have to pay full price. I will admit, I am extremely anal when it comes to how I like my dog groomed, so I gave specific instructions, along with pictures, to show exactly how I wanted him groomed. I have had many horrible grooming experiences in the past, hence, the paranoia and specifications. They were super sweet and very receptive of all of my questions, and reassured me that they would take great care of my boy. When I came to pick him up he looked great, and had the cutest little bandana around his collar. I only had one minor issue with his tail, but all the groomers had gone home for the day, so I was reassured I could bring him in again to have it redone free of charge which was also another plus in my book. I would highly recommend this business to anyone who is apprehensive on grooming, the staff is friendly and my dog seemed to be super happy (as he usually always is :) I will say that the price isnt exactly my favorite, since from now on Ill nearly have to pay close to $100 every time he is groomed, but I am happy because the owner was willing to negotiate and not stale-mate me in the end. That to me is worth the extra bang for the buck, and also because of the fact that he looked nearly perfect, with everything I asked for, its local, his teeth were brushed really well, and all in all, I had a good experience. We just moved to Northridge and was looking for a pet groomer for our dog. We checked on yelp as usual, and found Tender Touch Grooming. We love it here! We're really happy with their service. When I came back to pick up my baby, he was in the cage with an fan on. I'm impressed. My baby smelled great and looks really adorable. We love the haircut and he also got a bandana on. Tamara and the team at Tender Touch Grooming are rock stars. I can always get an appt. (even sorta last minute they find a way to fit us in). My dogs always seem happy to go. (once they realize where we are... or maybe its the cupcake shoppe next door? hmmm...) Before Tender Touch, we had gone to the same groomer for about 8 years. When we moved areas, we had to find a new place. Luckily we came across Tender Touch and now they're our #1. There's been a bit of adjustment period getting the cuts perfected for the pups. But it didn't take long before they knew us and we can tell them exactly what we need and that is what we get. Unless you request someone, it might not always be the same groomer who works on your dog - despite this, it seems like it's been the same team for a while and they always greet us at the door and know my dogs by name. We only come in once every 45 days or so - so it's cool they do actually know us. In general: all bathing / grooming is out in the open. You can sit and watch if you want - but i don't think it's best for your pet. I think bows and bandannas are standard - we don't prefer them and just let them know. Sometimes the one little guy gets a bandanna. It is kinda cute on him. The dogs are in cages after a groom (some people don't like this) but there is plenty of room and i like they put my dogs together -- likely out of necessity to make room -- but is comforting to them. The grooming area is separated from the "lobby" with a short gate and the team monitors the areas to ensure no one escapes.The team always seem very careful and gentle with the dogs that are there when we come in, and my pets never seem stressed out when they leave. i like that they are friendly people, they groom well, they genuinely care about animals, there's no hiding in a backroom with your dog and the price is right. I think it's only fair to start by saying that I am extremely particular about how my two Maltipoo's look. So much so that I have driven to Camarillo from Woodland Hills for the last 4 years just to have them groomed. Unfortunately time didn't allow for me to take to their normal groomer and my dogs were making a family appearance and needed to be groomed. My sister has taken her dog to Tender Touch for close to a year she has nothing but good things to say and I have always like how her dog looks, so I thought I would give it a try. Staff: They were very friendly both when making an appointment and checking in our dogs. I was very happy that they required vaccination records for grooming. When my husband picked our dogs up he asked for the nails to be buffed a bit more and said they seemed happy to do it to ensure we were happy. Facilities: It was clean and the kennels looked well maintained. The side walls are lined with kennels which is more than I was use to but they were not all full and there were not a lot of dogs whining or waiting to be groomed. Pricing and services: Is average for this area and the extra services [teeth brushing, various shampoos, etc] were a nice touch and reasonably priced. Dog Grooming: Was good but not nearly as precise as what I am use to. Their body was just fine, even, etc. But when it came to shaping their face you can tell the experience with sheets just isn't there. I asked for the teddy bear cut and brought in a picture of what they look like when they leave their normal groomers and while they tried they missed the mark a bit. The fading from the cut into their body was abrupt and I can tell they used the clippers rather than sheers for all but the very crown of his face. [For those who think I am being ridiculous I warned you I was particular ;) ] I also had to brush out their tail and pull out a couple of mats out as wells as trim their ears as a couple of longer piece were left hanging. Overall: I have tried several places in the valley and I can say by far this place is the best. They are friendly, clean, quick [dropped our dogs off at 10:00 am, they were ready for pick up at 11:57am], fairly priced and offer the right kind of extras. If you have a cut or are as particular as I am you might want to specify in detail exactly what you want I am sure the would oblige. If I would have picked them up, given the how friendly and accommodating the staff was I am sure they would have accommodated. Will I return ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ This is hard to answer as I am obviously bias. However, if I find my self in a situation where time doesn't allow for them to go to their normal groomers they will go back to Tender Touch. read more

I am a new dog owner, and I started to get anxiety reading reviews of mean and/or careless groomers online. I tried Tender Touch based on a referral from a friend, and here's what I noticed: * The staff seems friendly. (Thanks, Hazel) * The place seems clean. * They were flexible to accommodate my drop off and pick up times. * My dog is scared of other dogs, so I'm glad she was crated after her services instead of having to deal with other dogs. * My dog smelled great after her visit. * Her nails are not too short. * She got a snazzy bandana after her visit...which she is still wearing. The cost for my medium sized dog's basic grooming (no trimming) and nails: $50. I've been told that Tender Touch might be on the pricier side of things, but the most important thing to me is having a place to trust with my dog. I think I might have found the place. So I live around the corner, called in to see if they had openings and they did. Made an appointment, I came late, my fault, but I did call and informed them that I was still coming. On the phone they said it would be 36$ due to the fact you can't cut/trim pug hair they said. I was fine with that so we agreed on just the wash, nail trim, ear and teeth cleaned, and the behind. But when I received my dog she was shedding the same amount, but she did looked brush; I suppose. They charged me 46$ not 36$ just because she's a bit bigger the average pug, supposedly. Whatever, I paid and left the store but once I got home I saw my dog's back teeth and they weren't cleaned, nor did the properly clean my dog ears. So I called and there excuse was cause she was a bitter, like are you serious. If that was true why didn't you tell me that before hand. When I was at the shop, when you were charging me 46$ trying to explain that my dog was "bigger" then usual pug. I don't know, but me personally they could've done better. It's a whatever dog spot. Go if you really can't just put your dog in a tub of water, but that's what they do best. read more

Brought my dog in here the other day. I have been trying to find a new groomers for him for a while since the place I take him is kinda sketchy and he always come out of there scared and waiting to go home. I called about a month ago to schedule an appointment right before thanksgiving but the lady over the phone was super rude and sounded almost frustrated because I even dared to ask the question if they had any openings for that day. Considering my bad experience over the phone, I decided to give them another call earlier this week to see if they had any open times to take my dog. Fortunately, I was greeted this time nicely by another young woman and gladly told me they had two times open. I took my dog in and to my surprise he was super happy to be there. He didn't wine or get scared at all. One thing I didn't like was the fact that it was really crowded... My dog definitely approved Tender Touch and I will be back even though they are a little more pricey and don't trim as much hair as my other groomers. We took our cat in to tender touch grooming services. We have taken our cat jasper plenty of times prior and have always been happy with your services.  However, today was an awful experience from drop off to pick up. Our appointment was scheduled at 1 pm and we arrived 5 minutes before. Its usually a quick drop off but this time it was difficult.  The lady working the desk could not find his card and 30 minutes later decided to look via your computer and found him in their database.  The groomer present at the time still didnt want to groom him because she still requested vaccines which we have already brought in. After that the only reason she took him was because the front desk finally found the card.  We get a call at 333pm that hes finally ready(2 n a half hours after our "scheduled appt"). We pick him up and his body is soaking wet. He is full of lose hair and his cut is completely uneven. Its obvious they did not take the time to blow dry him properly.  We really feel that the groomer did not want to work with our cat jasper even thou EVERY time we have visited before we were complimented on how well he behaves while being groomed. Wrote this email to the owner last night and yet to receive a response. We paid 70 bux to have lose cat hair chunks now flowing where we live. I even combed him for an hour when i went home and still chunks everywhere. read more

Ive been taking my dogs to this groomer for over a year. For the most part I have been satisfied with their services until recently. My last two visits have been horrible. First of all they gave my dog an "outline" that I never requested. When I came back two weeks later for yet another cut I told him that I wanted a trim and showed them what I wanted. I explained to them that I was unsure if they even cut my dog's hair previously . The clerk said "oh yah, we just gave him an outline" I asked for an explanation of the cut because I had never heard of it. I talked to her for 5-10 min going over what was done 2 weeks prior and explained what I wanted this time. Upon returning to pick him the clerk that had helped me my previous appointment tried to blame me that I had told her that I wanted an "outline". I explained I have never heard of that term til that morning during the drop off. Then she tried to charge me full price and i explained that i didn't request all the services. Upon getting home my dog started licking his nail and now I am dealing with $200 vet Bill because of them cutting his nail/skin too low and now it's irritated and tender. Needless to say I will not be returning to this groomer nor will I recommend it to any of my friends and family members read more

I was recommended this place by my vet and it is super close to my house. I called yesterday to make an appointment for my 2 cats for a bath. The guy on the phone was very pleasant and set me up with an appointment and let me know I need to bring the shot records. After calling the vet to confirm my cats shots I called tender touch again this morning to confirm which shots they need (as my cats are indoor only so the vet only recommends the upper respiratory vaccine). The girl on the phone was extremely rude and said she had to go look it up (it sounded like I was inconveniencing her). When she finally came back 10 min later (yes I timed it) she said they need all their shots with out telling me the names. When I asked how many shots are required she said 5, I tried to explain to her that my vet said that they only needed upper respiratory since they are indoor only but if she could give me a list I could get them done today. She sighed heavily and started rattling off the names of the shots so quickly I couldn't catch them. When I asked her again if it was for sure they needed these as again it's not recommended by the vet, she was like yesssss (very drawn out) I already told you that's what the groomer requires. I told her because of her attitude I wanted to cancel my appointment as I am trying to give the business money and I don't deserve to be treated this way. She just said ok (in a tone like I don't care) and hung up! When I called back and asked for a manager I was told no manager would be available until Friday. Unfortunately for me I didn't catch the girls name but I will be calling Friday to make a complaint as I do not appreciate being spoken to this way and that is definitely not how you get new clients or keep clients! read more

I moved to the Valley 4 yrs ago; I was referred to TT by a colleague who has a similar breed as my dog (Maltese Terrier Mix) They did a great job. I left and found a place that I thought was closer and did a better job. Boy, was I mistaken! I am back and found out my neighbor is a big fan, too. I can't believe there aren't any reviews here. After the disaster I had at another groomer, I have been looking for another local place to take my pom. This place is next door to a cupcake place I like, so I decided to give them a try. I just wanted my dog washed and brushed. No hair cut, as I like my pom with long hair. They called me exactly 2 hrs later when they said she would be ready. I appreciate that they were on time. I went to pick her up only to find that they did trim her fur. Sigh. I wasn't thrilled but they had done a nice job so I didn't say anything. Overall, I would have given them a 5 if they hadn't done the trim. They are very nice and my dog come home smelling and looking pretty. Most importantly, my dog came home happy too. We will definitely be going back. read more

After trying so many places in the valley, Tender touch grooming is a place that provided friendly, professional and welcoming service to you and your best friend(s). As soon as you walk into this place you are greeted by all the staff and are given the full attention you and your puppies deserve, well if you are not greeted that because they are focused. Both of my boys always come out nice and clean after a day of grooming, which they both love because as soon as they get home they both don't want to do anything to get themselves dirty. I love to drop off and pick up my boys because I get to see how other dogs get groomed and how well they are treated. Another reason why I like this place is because they also send me post cards reminding me to take my boys for their next grooming, and if I call they have worked their schedule around to fit me in when they have a full schedule. Tender touch grooming is the only place I trust 100% when it comes to getting my boys groomed, so if you been to other places that you don't fully trust try Tender Touch next time and you will see what I am talking about. I've never taken any of my pets to a groomer before. I usually do it on my own (I am pretty good at it =) ) but when I adopted my Sheldon (A male kitty) from the shelter, he had long nails and kept getting caught on everything. They were too long for me to comfortably trim them, so I looked up groomers. This was very close to my location and had good reviews, I decided to give it a shot. I took him, within a few mins he was done and ready to go home. I was very impressed in the job they did on his nails and in such a quick manner, it was hard to believe they did them all. And it was very inexpensive. I saved their information. A week later, I adopted my second baby from a rescue, he had super long nails and he was very grimmy. Instead of doing it on my own, I took him to the groomers to have it all done. They told me it would be done in about 2 hours, but can take up to 3 because things come up. I was perfectly fine with the wait. I got a call about 2 hrs later, he was good to go. He was so soft, clean and trimmed. He looked a lot happier and he smelled amazing. I will definitely be taking them back to the groomer when its time for another bath and nail trim. Thank you! read more
