The shower started at 12pm and we were able to get into the room at 11am. We were scrambling to get everything done until the last minute but it all worked out. An hour and a half to set up might have been more ideal but that's okay, we had a lot of people helping. We were able to bring in our own food which was nice. They do no allow alcohol, fyi. Otherwise, I would have done mimosas or "mom-osas" for myself. ;) We also brought in our own linens. The room rental for 4 hours was $200 and that also allowed guests to check out the butterfly house that same day. There were not butterflies since it was January but we did see the parrot and a lot of cool plants. I would highly recommend this space to others. We had around 55 people at the shower and I would say you wouldn't want to have more than 60 guests to fit the space comfortably.

However, at $600 the Orchid Room is very expensive and is very limited in how you are permitted to decorate. We unfortunately had to cancel our event and requested a few butterfly house passes to use another day since we were out the $600. They said it was not possible. So be very aware of the 90 day cancellation policy and the very limited decoration policy.

The lounge is huge, with unique vibes in different rooms behind the various old vault doors still inside. They've highlighted the history here, with cozy lighting and plenty of little nooks and crannies to enjoy with your party. The main area is the bar. The whole place has a 1920s speakeasy vibe; the night we visited a wedding party was fully leaned into this in period attire making it extra fun. They have an okay beer list, it's more about the cocktails. Our bartender was helpful and friendly, despite a growing number of people getting complicated drinks. If you like a unique place to enjoy a nightcap, this is a must-visit in downtown Cleveland.

A drink sponsored by a liquor company is usually included for the event along with a buffet style finger foods. They also have different vendors there in all the vaults offering unique experiences like permanent jewelry, hair, tinsel, and feathers, coloring contest, and this time they had a vault set up with just dance. Every time I attend a girl dinner it just keeps getting better. The staff is always amazing and welcoming.

This brewery feels like it's in a quiet residential neighborhood because it is; nearby is a wine by but otherwise it's picturesque streets and homes. Going inside it looks a little unremarkable, like a garage brewery anywhere. But inside it's special. The main bar room is like an open barn, with warmth tasteful decor. Behind the bar is an antique ice chest, used to display their merchandise. They have a small menu of tasteful styles; we all got to talk to one of the brewers who was clearly proud of what they make. Further inside there are other rooms for private events, working brewery areas, historical decor, and restrooms at the end. The real draw here though is the outdoor beer garden: wood chip floor, big comfy Adirondack chairs, picnic tables, high tops, fire pit areas, basically any type of seating for groups or singles. Big trees, ivy, green everywhere; it was so relaxing enjoying our flights as cyclists and others came in and out through the gate from the street. The beer was also great, delicious quality and reasonable prices. This is a must-visit brewery in Cleveland, you sure don't feel like you're in a city when you're here.

The 78th Street Studios is a huge arts studio that also has a theatre on the 2nd floor called the Blank Canvas Theatre. I visited for the first time probably in 2018 or 2019 then I came in 2023 and so on. I've attended their 3rd Fridays art event plus some plays at the Blank Canvas Theatre. It's always nice walking around 78th street studios. It can get a little overwhelming because the building is so big and you may get lost but just follow the signs posted on the walls to find out where you're going. I'll certainly be back. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 129/250 total reviews in 2026 - 970 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 17 June 2026

There is always so many people here, bumping into each other, and fighting over parking, so it is a bit overstimulating. The mayor of Cleveland often hosts breakfast and lunch meetings or gatherings at the Union Club. Private events and weddings are held here and there is even a hotel inside for visitors to stay. I've been attending events at the Union Club for over a year now and a half now (since Sept. 2024). I attend these events through the CCWA speaker events. Many great speakers have come to the Union Club to speak on global topics. The dinner served at the private speaker events that I've attended is always delicious. Normally there is a starting dish such as a salad, then a main course such as salmon, beef, or steak along with a side, and the meal ends with a dessert. The building is old but it has been well kept over the years. It does get cold inside sometimes so perhaps the old nature of the building is an issue with heating but I am not 100% sure. The chandeliers in some of the rooms are beautiful with intricate details. The great reading room is quiet and serene with plenty of comfortable seating. Their membership cost is high and is thus only for those who know they will utilize everything that the Union Club has to offer such as member events, the gym, etc. I am not a member but I enjoy attending CCWA events here and I can't wait to return again soon. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 47/250 total reviews in 2026 - 888 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 24 April 2026
