Every beer adventure I go on, there are always a special one or two that standout among the best. Our visit to Forest City Brewery was one of those; I'd love to come back. This brewery feels like it's in a quiet residential neighborhood because it is; nearby is a wine by but otherwise it's picturesque streets and homes. Going inside it looks a little unremarkable, like a garage brewery anywhere. But inside it's special. The main bar room is like an open barn, with warmth tasteful decor. Behind the bar is an antique ice chest, used to display their merchandise. They have a small menu of tasteful styles; we all got to talk to one of the brewers who was clearly proud of what they make. Further inside there are other rooms for private events, working brewery areas, historical decor, and restrooms at the end. The real draw here though is the outdoor beer garden: wood chip floor, big comfy Adirondack chairs, picnic tables, high tops, fire pit areas, basically any type of seating for groups or singles. Big trees, ivy, green everywhere; it was so relaxing enjoying our flights as cyclists and others came in and out through the gate from the street. The beer was also great, delicious quality and reasonable prices. This is a must-visit brewery in Cleveland, you sure don't feel like you're in a city when you're here. read more

Great beer, excellent food options, great vibe. It was my first visit to Forest city brewery and I just absolutely loved it. We sat outside in cozy lawn chairs. First time visiting this historical brewery in fabulous Ohio City. Walking in you can automatically feel how historical this building is which has an indescribable feel. The food we got were the pierogis, pork schnitzel and chicken salad sandwich. The pierogis did not disappoint and had perfect filling ratio which paired well with the sour cream served with them. The pork schnitzel was a large piece of pork which paired well with the pickled onions and potatoes and the asparagus was a perfect crunchy accompaniment. The chicken salad had a nice bite to it and was very good. We also tried a beer flight and all of them were excellent and refreshing. I'm excited thanks to Yelp that I discovered this restaurant since it's truly a hidden gem. read more

We stopped at Forest City Brewery to see some live music for Father's Day. Oh My was it busy. Fortunately we brought our own chairs to sit outside. We set up toward the back of the garden and we were able to hear the music very well. The line for the bar was very long, so we ordered food as well. There were three servers behind the bar and they were moving fast. When you order you get a number to take to your table and your food is delivered. The garden area is perfect to relax and have a drink. I will probably go back next time during non peak hours. read more

I was here for a book club event in the clubhouse. It was my first time at this space. I found parking on the street. The menu, while limited, was enough for me to find a few options I wanted to pick from. I chose the pulled pork sandwich. It came with kettle chips. My sandwich was tasty and the staff was kind and knowledgeable. The club house space is great for small groups between 5-25 people. read more

Awesome place. Really great setting, and good beers. Only complaint, and well warranted - a couple nights ago I got sprayed with cleaning solution by a male bartender- all down my leg (I was wearing shorts) and arm, and my clothes. It wasn't closing time, but I get the need to keep the bar clean when that opportunity arises and someone leaves the area. But his aim was so off; his judgement was lacking as to blindly spraying chemicals so close to a customer (myself and friend) in a careless and quick decision. When I (politely) called him out and asked for a wash cloth to clean up, not only did he not apologize, he offered me the wash rag that he was using to clean the bar. WTF. If he wasn't st*ned, I really don't know how one can get a position at a cool &ss bar and be that weird and incompetent. After clarifying that I would prefer a "clean wash cloth", he brought one for me and I used my own water to clean my skin and clothing. Honestly never had something like that happen before. Judging by how he was acting before that incident, I should've been aware that he was a little off. He was asking if we wanted any drinks about 4/5 minutes after we were already served by his co-bartender. We clearly had new drinks. Other than that, place is cool. Just hope this was a freak incident and not the usual. read more

I have been here a few time now and every time I feel right at home. The space is full of old world charm and very open. They have a nice backyard patio that is great to sit in when the weather permits. They have live music almost weekly. The beer is really good with a nice selections that leaves you wanting to try one more before you go. They have food available but I have not yet tried it. The service is what is expected. This place is an absolute MUST if you're in the Cleveland area. Normally I focus on the food and service (which were amazing here btw) but I have to talk about the building for a second. It's a beautiful, historic corner that is has a bunch of cool artifacts and knick knacks around the indoor and outdoor premises. First, they have lots of pictures that preserve memories from Cleveland a long time ago you can look at in the hallways. Secondly, the ceilings and walls are so tall and every inch is filed with some artifact or sticker/poster. They have really cool party/ballrooms where you can host private events or enjoy live music. Lastly, the outdoor patio is huge! Well lit with intricate, hanging lights and a stage for events. I didn't catch her name, but our bartender (I heard other servers calling her "boss" so perhaps she's the boss haha?) was such a lovely host and very hospitable. We enjoyed the Pierogies and Bavarian flatbread, and I had a flight of beer which had great selections to choose from. read more

we used to go in the patio area with the baby in the stroller but they banned it, so rating it a zero because they changed it from a family friendly patio to an adult only area. In addition to that, the times we have gone the beers have been mediocre and the food okay and overpriced. If it wasn't for the patio I wouldn't recommend. There are better breweries close by in the area read more

I've been here many times for many different reasons ranging from grabbing a beer, a plant sale, seeing live music, and a Halloween art market. The space is really cool with three different sections, a big outdoor space, the bar area, and the music and open Area. Although I really love the space and the vibe here, I've never been impressed with the food or drinks. The food is pretty mediocre and the drinks are over priced for what you get. That being said, I'm sure I'll continue to come back again and again for events because they are great at hosting events. Forest city is in Tremont and sometimes it's super easy to find parking on the street but sometimes you might need to park a block away. read more

Very old- Cleveland! Great environment, friendly staff, and good beers. It would be a fun place with a large crowd.

After finally trying the food and drink, I was actually fairly surprised how good it tasted -- I got the root beer bottle and the pretzel sticks. I will say the pretzel sticks were outrageously expensive at $16 for the 2 cross shaped pretzels. Maybe it's inflation or the location, but nevertheless, they should be at most $8-9. The service was a little slow around 6pm with only one guy at the bar. I didn't exactly the ambiance there given it feels like a warehouse rather than drink/food establishment. read more

Unfortunately this brewery has a no kids policy. We walked in with our 3 week old in a stroller on a Saturday afternoon (there was absolutely no patron there)and were politely told we can't be there with our baby. We get it. However, we frequent LOTS of breweries , and the ones that allow kids are fun for both kids and parents. Kids eat food! FORTUNATELY, we found a kid-friendly brewery less than 3 minutes away called Brew Dog. There were kids eating, playing board games and playing on a life-size chess board. The beer was excellent as well! Cleveland has a growing craft beer scene, and being family friendly will only help the brewery. read more

This is a brewery that I wish I lived closer to. It has all the things I love - a big, quiet outdoor area with large trees, plenty of seating, and some fun Halloween decor; a historic building with multiple rooms for different size groups with decor that is fun, engaging and historical; and great beer too! I especially loved the French Toast Phantom that I ordered this week. Service is friendly and helpful here. I came across this hidden gem while on a work trip. I entered through their patio, which is like a little forest getaway. Then when you walk inside it is a huge venue. Event space for bands or entertainment, a different room where they pour, and some fun decor. I didn't get a change to eat here, but the menu looked like they had good options. I sat outside and enjoyed my flight of beer. The beer tenders were super friendly and happy to give me their opinions on what I may like. The patio had a nice outdoor cabin in the woods vibe. The seating was a mixture of camp chairs, big wood chairs, and andiron deck chairs. I did like most of the beers. I did notice a sign that said Sundays are family days, otherwise the rest of the week you must be 21+ to be there. read more

We enjoyed our visit to Forest City Brewery. Note that parking is available on the street so you may need to walk a few blocks depending how busy it is. They're located in a residential neighborhood and if I lived near there, I'd be at the bier garten every night. It's so cozy and comfortable with big trees and comfortable chairs and tables. Dog friendly patio too. They had about 8 of their own beers on tap, as well as guest handles, and I enjoyed the Spoetzl Shiner Hill Country Peach Wheat Ale. My husband liked the Warsteiner Pilsner and Hefeweizen. The food was ok. The pretzels with mustard and flavored butter were good, and I liked the cheese board. They had many vegan options on the menu and while I'm not vegan, I thought the cabbage and noodles were good. read more

We wanted to be outside with a beer in our hands and this place delivered. Loved the vibe as soon as we walked in. We ordered beer and 3 appetizers at the bar. After we ordered we sat in the beer garden and waited for the food. The beer garden has a lot of different seats and it's huge. With live music! We ordered the hummus, feinkost (sort of charcuterie) and the pretzels. All very good and full of flavor! We both got a delicious IPA. The vibes were great, the food was delicious, would recommend on a warm Friday night! My only qualm is the menu is mainly appetizers, which worked fine for us, but won't work for everyone. read more

I feel like this place could have so much more potential. On a Saturday around noon, we were the only guests inside. 1 came in for a growler fill, but that is all I saw. The place is huge! Built from scratch in pretty much every way, Forest City has a nice grouping of beers on tap and just started canning as well. The beer tour was an hour long and was really long winded about random historical objects collected by the owner at random places and then shorter somewhat but still long winded about the beer itself by the brewmaster. I tried every beer offered except for two, and was not impressed by any of them. None were bad, but they were all entirely unremarkable and none particularly rich or smooth. Bar food is pretzels, cupcakes, pizza bagels, pierogies, bbq pork sandwich and other junk food type stuff. Nothing healthy at all. Large music hall with live music multiple nights a week. The owner took us outside toward the end of our tour and instead of showing us anything ended up lighting himself a cigarette and stood there talking away swinging the stinking stick around as we all froze! I was floored! Who would smoke everyone out like that as the business owner on a tour?? Eeek. read more

This is a great spot. It looks unassuming from the outside but they actually have a really large indoor spayeah indoor space for music. And. And an equally large outdoor patio area. They of course have their own beer, but they also serve other liquor and wine. They don't have any food service as of August 2021, but you can bring your own food from the outside. It's really a great spot to bring a bunch of friends and your own food and chill out.. Almost like having a picnic where someone else provides the beer and music. read more
