The DJ Bill is a straight trump-y a**hole. We asked him to play a Bad Bunny song and he throws a fit over it and says "ain't nobody gonna dance to that shit" and everyone DANCED! This is a great venue to consider for a homegoing or memorial service as well as a wedding. We first found this hidden gem during Covid when all of the funeral homes were booked and we had my brothers memorial service at Tennessee Gardens. The venue is resonably priced, very peaceful beautiful garden setting, with adequate parking. We decided to have our mother's homegoing service and the repast there as well last month. We provided our own food, and the bakery provided desserts. Michelle decorated the venue beautifully with fine linen and China, and had food servers. Our wedding was May 11, 2024! We had the best experience. Our guests complemented the location and the food. This place is a hidden gem. We chose the fiesta dinner and everything was amazing. Michelle was very supportive and helpful throughout the entire process. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the negative reviews. Most people had an amazing experience. However, if you're a bridezilla, nothing anyone does will make you happy so no need to put a negative review. If you're looking for a beautiful location and you're not trying to break your bank, Tenessee Gardens should be your first choice. So much is included in the cost! WOW!!! Where do I begin? Yesterday I attended a wedding. - WEDDING VENUE: The location of the wedding is very small, honestly-it looks like a really old run-down house. There were not enough parking spaces for large crowds. The location was very loud, trains,cars, buses & motorcycles were very loud during the ceremony which made it very difficult to hear the wedding vows. -Wait time for dinner, after the ceremony was 1.5-2 hours. The wedding was over at 5:30pm, dinner was served around 7:30pm. It was such a shame, some people had to leave due to not eating earlier. Dinner, was like eating at the worst cafeteria you could ever eat at. Plain rotini or tortillini noodles, you could either choose from marinara sauce or alfredo sauce thrown on the noodles. Raw carrotts & brocoli which smelled a bit like stinky feet. The meatballs were mixed with a ton of itailain bread crumbs cooked in marinara sauce bought in bulk at costco. There was also garlic bread that tasted like it was bought from costco. It seemed like it was very cheap food & quickly prepared for ease of preparation. You cannot call this Italian food, as Chef Michelle Faraj says on her Tennessee gardens website- her "ABOUT ME" section, "was trained by the best culinary cooking experts in the country". In addition, she claims she has worked at the famous chef Wolfgang Pucks restaurant. If you are going to over pay for the best food you have eaten at your special event this is not the place, in my opinion. THE music was very loud, some of the wedding guests had to leave because the food took so long & the music being very loud, it was a bit too much. Having a normal conversation with people was impossible, pretty much Yell OR not understand the other person. There is a difference between background conversational music during dinner & club music. If you decide to go with this place. PLEASE make sure you go over the contract terms, retainer, insurance & alcohol permit documentation. in addition to the refund & cancellation policy, prior to signing anything. Remind the venue you may pursue them for consequential losses if they breach the contract & Consequencial losses can include anything in the contract. read more

One star because I had to. My niece got married there on 3/3/23, the person in charge name Michelle was not professional at all, she did not assist on managing the the schedule and was down right rude at times, the dj didn't even know how to announce the wedding party nor did he know how pronounce names. Luckily the show went on and it was beautiful still. My niece and her husband had expressed to me that during the last couple months Michelle had been very difficult to work with. They also expressed that one of the Dj's that was originally appointed to work their wedding; during their initial meeting the dj didn't want work with them with the music they wanted and he had stated " I'm expecting a big tip since you're making me download all this music" . Over all the place is pretty, Michelle needs to pass the torch and need staff who are flexible with the modern times. read more

Michelle is so wonderful! Our wedding at Tennessee Gardens was absolutely perfect. She is always available to reach out to during the planning process, always kind and professional and direct. She knows everything that has to be done, and is usually two steps ahead. Her staff was so kind and professional as well. The venue is beautiful, the lighting and plants and all her available decorations are just gorgeous. Beautiful venue. You get what you pay for Monday of wedding, bridal room was disgusting, smelled like eggs, toilet did not work, ants and spiders in the restroom, nothing to dry hands on. The room is not worth the almost $400. Michelle, the owner, was very snarky to one of our groomsmen, and officiant. The ceremony chairs were dirt, and officiant and groomsmen cleaned off the chairs. My parent's table never got champagn for toast. I never got my own wedding cake. Michelle was not around at all until end of reception to scoot us out as quickly as possible. She never said goodbye, just scooted us out. It takes a lot to let it grand not legit ruin your day. We still had a blast. read more

I had my wedding ceremony at Tennessee gardens on 4/21/18 it was beautiful! I would have had my reception there but was worried about April rains! Everything day of was perfect! Michelle was very helpful day if she worked seamlessly with my coordinator. The only thing that I had issues with was communication prior to the event, it hard to get ahold of anyone but they do follow up. I hate to say this but Michelle was the worst the day of my wedding. Celebrated at this venue Sept 2, 2023. It is a very nice outdoor venue, Michelle was pretty helpful throughout the months leading up to my party, so I though all the negative reviews were maybe just not true. Boy oh Boy was I wrong. To begin with she was not excited that I was bringing shot glasses, she advised against it saying guest can get out of hand if they drink too much. She was not excited with the amount of beers we dropped off the night before, even made a comment stating "i hope you like Modelos, because you will have lots left over". We did not use the dj that the venue offers simply because he had to much trouble sending me a simple email with the contract. If he can't get that right, there was no way he was going to dj my event. I was under the impression Michelle would be available if needed at my event and that was not the case. Venue opened at 5pm. It was hot and humid day, guest approached the bar to find themselves drinking hot beers! We asked the bartender why the drinks were cold and he was no help at all, he stated he had just put beers in the small fridge they had & not sure why the beer was hot. Mind you, we dropped the beers off the night before and asked Michelle on multiple occasions if we needed to provide ice for the drinks and she always said no. My husband approached a young lady who appeared to be the "manager" her name was Maddie, and asked to see Michelle and Maddie would not tell us where she was. My Husband voiced his disappointment about the drinks and the young lady finally put out ice in large trash bins to out our beers in, why they waited til my party to start and us to complain for them to do this is poor service!! Her bartender as well was rude. We asked him if we can bring an ice chest to help cool the beers and his response was "and where will I stand"? No help at all! He also did NOT use our shot glasses. He was pouring into their regular glasses, until I confronted him about it and he took out shot glasses and poured out of their cups into the shot glasses, why he wouldn't use the shot glasses is beyond me. I am 100% sure the beers being hot was intentionally to prevent my guest from drinking "too much" as Michelle had said many times. They ended up putting the beers in there kitchen fridge during our party hours, why they didn't do that previous to the start of our party proves it was on purpose. Dinner was to start at 530pm, it was 545pm and no food in sight. I approached the kitchen and asked for Michelle and again the manager Maddie stated she was warming up tortillas! Which was a lie, I complained about food being late and it was brought to my attention that the kitchen was informed dinner was to start "around" 530pm-6pm. I was livid! I provided a freaken itinerary to Michelle per HER request and she didn't even follow it. My photographer has had experience photographing there and told me Michelle was "special" and does what she wants. At the end if the night Michelle finally came out of her hiding spot as if everything was perfect. we confronted her about the drinks being hot and she gave a b.s excuse that the fridge had broken down, we asked why she didn't think it was important for her to tell us about this so that we may get ice and she just ignored us and kept blabbing defending her lack of attention to this matter. as the owner it was her job to inform us if this but didn't care to. She never apologized for this issue and instead continued to say excuse after excuse. We ended that night gathering our belongings & nit looking back. The only positive thing from this venue was the beautiful garden setting, the delicious cake & the mexican fiesta menu was delicious as well. Do not book here and if you do bring your own, dj/band & bartender! thankfully my family, photographer & dj were advocating for me and we ended up having a nice evening NO THANKS to Michelle! read more

i attended an event here lastnight 18th birthday the Venue is a nice small place and cake was very good but other than that the service crew never smiled at us the service crew looked tired and seem like they did not want to be there and do their job and they rushed us on the plates and glasses if we are done very unprofessional. And then we got to the dinner part we go inside to get our food because they served it buffet style the food tasted and looked like cafeteria food in highschool the meat was all medium rare i ask for well done but the well done looks the same as the medium rare. They told us the person who was cutting the meat was the owner but just like the service crew she never smiled at us not even welcome us. I mean if im paying more than $1000 grand for a service first i want good food, smiling and welcoming owner and service crews. Compare to All the events i attended to previously small or big expensive or not expensive the owners takes time to greet us and welcome us and service crews are smiling and helpful. And that says a lot about the business if the owners and service crews are pleasant and welcoming. Thats not the case at Tennessee gardens redlands they were very unprofessional. Very unprofessional. So The program went on after we ate dinner and you think it gets better nope, as the program goes all of a sudden we can hear loud noise of the pots and pans in the kitchen one guest said to his partner "someone is getting mad with those pots and pans go stopped them before they break it" and both laughed. Again service crews are very unprofessional. Like i said the only thing that was nice and good at Tennessee gardens was the small venue and the cake thats it. Michelle, thank you for my dream wedding!!! Your staff, your all inclusive packages, set up, clean up, and hospitality were beyond anything any competitor offered. You made this wedding so stress free and easy and I will never forget this night. What I love about Michelle, is she was so kind, funny, and easy going. She let us borrow some stuff she had on hand like an easel, mirrors for under the centerpieces we made, tea lights, etc. she walked us through the decorations, took pictures of our confirmed lay out of linens and runners. We got so many compliments on the wedding! If you get the pastor included in the package, Choose pastor Hinkle! He interviewed us for nearly two hours and added so many references and prayers to the ceremony. We were very impressed!! Some family even for his card for future use. Seriously, a really great pastor! We paid for a bartender through 11pm and he began cleaning up at 10:30. We couldn't order any more drinks. I would confirm the times in advance or at least request a last call for alcohol. Side note: During your food tasting the florist on site will present to you his packages and portfolio. If you decide to use the florist next door. I advise you to throughly detail the contract, provide your bouquet samples, festoon, corsages, color scheme etc. don't miss anything. Do this in advance, provide prints at the time of contract signing, also send them via text or email. Confirm weeks in advance and again as I did just days before the wedding. I did not get what I asked for and having those text and messages helped me to get a partial refund of the many errors. If you like someone who is organized, punctual, and understanding, this may not be the guy for you. The shop is never opened for business unless there is a holiday. He is sweet, he means well, but he was not the florist I had hoped for. He has the potential to do amazing work, I've seen it first hand and I so badly wanted that same wow for my own wedding. Unfortunately I didn't get it. I used his photography packages for my engagement and wedding and to date have no complaints. It will be several weeks before I receive my photos and final wedding booklet. The photographers Flor and Aunica were lovely to work with. Just be aware that nothing is 100% on your wedding day and there is not enough time to mingle with everyone. We added an extra hour and I wished i had added at least another 1. Michelle, the food was delicious! Update: I received messages about our food ( we got the Italian pasta bar and added chicken to that option, comes with salad bar bread, toppings, meat sauce, marinara, Alfredo, steamed veggies, fettuccine, tortellini and I added chicken breast. Wish I got to eat more because it was really good! Guest were able to go back for seconds. The cake was to die for, also got messages about what the cake was. We chose orange poppy seed and raspberry Victorian. So good! I will be back for more cakes. The staff cut and served it all! Very nice staff! Service fees tip were included in the package. Michelle, Thank you for being there with every question. I highly recommend your venue and other family Members will be utilizing your services in the future. I will never forget this night! I passed by this place on Sunday to check out the venue and wasn't impressed with the entrance! It looks very run down, the place is called Tennessee GARDENS and their gardens are lacking, maybe because of rain but is your going to call it gardens the landscape should be beautiful inside AND out. My sister on law's wedding was 6/15/2013. While the place is beautiful, the owner is terrible at her job. Throughout the months of preparation, she was extremely hard to get ahold of. We thought that maybe the week of the wedding, it would be easier because well, it was the week of the wedding but we were very wrong. The day of the ceremony, while our team was setting up (although we were previously informed that the staff would set up for us) we were told that we couldn't set up until 4. The wedding began at 5 so this posed a huge threat to our completion. After a bit of going back and forth, they let us start setting up at 3. Right before the ceremony started, Michelle, the owner shows up and starts yelling at the guest because of the way they parked. There were about 180 guests and about 30-40 parking spaces. At the reception, guests were served champaign, when we specifically asked no alcohol be served. The bride was very embarrassed because the majority of the guests were Christian, and don't drink alcohol. The only thing that I loved was the DJ/ Ceremony Coach/ Disaster Go-To Man, Joel. He was so on top of everything. In my opinion, he should have Michelle (the owners) job. read more

Our friends canceled their wedding on the day of wedding because Michelle the owner was so unprofessional she would argue about every little thing. The parents had reception because they had guests come for the wedding. The owner served food with out gloves, waitress drop a tray of vegetables on a guest shoes. - I was a brides maid (3-9-13)and served as hairstylist at this venue. I had never been there, if you blink you will miss the entrance, BUT! The staff were EXTREMELY helpful. They would accommodate as quickly as they could with EVERY request. Including the wedding coordinator Joel going to the closest store to pick up hair supplies I could not have finished the bride without! The bridal room was cute and clean, we were welcomed with chilled refreshments and a cheese platter. The design was nice enough for some fun pictures and had a floor to ceiling wall length mirror. There was plenty of room for the bride and bridal party to get ready. The grounds were very clean, and I truly felt as though we were in a garden! We were there into the night hours and enjoyed the way the place was lit for the evening as well. It has a waterfall and planters perfect to shoot the winning shots! I can't wait to see the pictures! My first consult was about 2 hours long, (I had tons of questions) and to the very end, Michelle and her team was on top of everything! Overall the venue is decent, we had our wedding there June 2016. Michelle could come off rude at times but she did provide everything we needed up to some point when she got pissed off and disappeared for the rest of the night, lucky for us the crew hands had it under-control! The biggest disappointment of the night was the DJ, Bill! One of the two DJs the venue offered. At first when we met Bill was awesome we thought great this is our guy! Fun, funny and interactive. Our final meeting before our big day he made a comment that we took as a joke. Seeing as since we met him he was somewhat of a joker. He said he had a wedding the weekend before that he was forced to play certain Hispanic music that sounded like horrible circus music and he could not go threw that again that he knew what music was good and what people wanted to listen to. The night of our wedding he did exactly that!! Ignoring the multiple change request from our guest he would not play anything else. Once we got wind of it my husband went to him and told him to play off OUR list and his reply to him was I never received it! (But I guess our emails back and forth got "lost") So I asked him if he had his phone he said yes! Does your laptop have Internet? Yes! Okay then great, I just sent our list to both your devices now please play what i just sent to you!! He played a total of 4 songs then continued to play what he thought was best. I was heated!!! Worst customer service ever!!! Michelle was rude and unpleasant once she got her money! After we asked for our "holding" deposit back, which we didn't sign any forms for she basically told us to kick rocks. We are a young couple with low funds for a wedding and she completely took advantage of us and stole what little money we did have. I went as far as to take her to small claims court, she received her subpoena in the mail and didn't show in court. So now I'm out my holding deposit and court fees. My Husband and I were married at Tennessee Gardens on July 6, 2013. I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Everything went smoothy from day 1, whenever I had questions I would call Michelle and she would answer them all. Joel and Cassandra were our DJ's and they are fantastic...Joel is a wonderful coordinator, he put everyone at ease. We left all our decorations on the day of the rehearsal and it was all put up exactly where it should be. On the day of the wedding the Bridal room was cool and had drinks and the snack platter. Michelle and Joel would come to check on us from time to time and kept us posted. After the ceremony we took awhile to take pictures and Michelle even snapped a few for us, she was very patient. She made sure my Husband and I got our food right away and would come back to check all was ok!! Even as we said our goodbyes to our guests and had to get all our stuff out of the bridal room, the staff was patient waiting for us. And the cake was delicious as was the Italian food. DO NOT GO HERE I would give this place a -5 stars if I could. March 1, 2014, I was helping the grooms family with a wedding. The morning of the wedding I showed up to the venue and was rudely informed by Michelle that she had no clue what was going on, how decorations were to go, nothing. I know for sure she did, the grooms mom left photos of how everything should be. Michelle wanted was insistent that things should be changed (less tables, tables in a different spot, etc). She argued with me and another person about setting up. The unfortunate thing was the bride was within ear shot had Michelle had the bride in tears, to the point the wedding was cancelled. We had the guest eat and during this Michelle was going around checking the table legs to see if the tables were sturdy enough (she couldn't do the before?) and almost spilled drinks all over the table I was sitting at. Michelle then had the nerve to come ask me (after the food was served) "how is everything? Everything going good like you wanted?" All I could do was stare at her in disbelief. read more

I came here for a bridal shower that my maid of honor threw me. The place is gorgeous and perfect for a tea party or low-key wedding. The place would've been great, except the owner Michelle was really unprofessional. She kept trying to convince my maid of honor to not do the shower there, and kept telling her that she was planning the party all wrong. Also, it took Michelle over a month to respond to an email inquiry about the venue. Truthfully, if you can stand the management, the venue is really nice. I am the mother of the bride and we had our wedding here on June 22, 2013. It was a terrible experience mainly because of Michelle, the owner, and her complete staff aside from one young girl. When we booked this venue over a year ago, Michelle seemed to be very accommodating. However, when we arrived to set up on the day of the wedding , she was so rude. I trie to approach her nicely hi g this would change her attitude but she got worse. The place was dirt and had not been cleaned. Bar dirty, chairs dirty, we had to get a broom ourselves to clean cobwebs. Mitchell yelled at our florist and had her move he van because she didn't like where it was parked. Michelle and her "yes" (not. bus) boys argued with us about everything from where we wanted thecocktail tables to asking For a plastic glass. She made the experience miserable. My older daughtergotmarried atEdwards Manipn 3 years ago and it was an absolute pleasure. Michelle served the prime rib herself and kept dropping the meat ad she cut it. She was also dressed inappropriately as was pointed out by several of our guests. We rented the brides room for 300 and when the matron of honor went in there with her 3 year old she was told there was to be no eating in there. When we arrived for the wedding and went to this room there was a bucket of drinks and a cheese platter in this room. The matron of honor is 30 years old and I tho l can be trusted with a pâté of food. Bottom line - the went of the venue is horrible and horrible to work with! read more

So this review has been a long time coming since I had my wedding here at this beautiful venue back in October and let me tell you...Michelle and her staff were on top of everything and I can say I had a blast at my wedding. Now let me be honest for just a sec here...I was desperate to find a place since we had about 3 months to plan this wedding so this was the 3rd venue I had seen and the ONLY venue around the area that had an upcoming Saturday available and for a very reasonable price. I think we somewhat rushed into booking this particular venue since I didn't even bother to look at reviews. So when I did read the reviews here I will admit I got a bit worried when reading the negative ones. However I will say this, I am a BIG believer that every experience in life is what you make it and I wouldn't let the negative reviews change my mind on this venue or the staff. First off, the venue came with center pieces that we could use however we'd like. I went with the fish bowl that sat atop a mirror plate. In the bowl we placed brown rock/pebbles ..with an encased candle in the center. Around the mirror plates we put yellow and white rose petals ( Our wedding colors were gold and ivory). When we arrived at the venue the day of the wedding, I was happy to see that Michelle had understood exactly what we wanted our centerpieces to look like. The venue also comes with a European style cake which you can taste/and select from "Michelle's". The cake we selected was the Strawberry Victorian cake, and it was ah-mazing! They have you go on their website and select a design of your choice and they even encourage you to bring a picture of ideas you've seen on other sites to see what they can do with that. The dinner was so yummy! We went with the chicken in white wine cream sauce selection, along with the garlic mashed potatoes and veggies which was served as a buffet style dinner. Might I add, I saw many people head back for seconds. The venue also offered us a selection of the D.J. services they provided and we decided to go with Joel Renfro. BEST DECISION EVER! He more than anything was just an all-around awesome guy to work with. Not only did he provide excellent D.J. service, but he also helped my husband and I come up with ideas for our actual ceremony and reception. From giving us song ideas for the bouquet and garter toss, to helping us with our ceremony entrance and exit...to being our to-go man if we had any questions or concerns during the actual party. Oh and here is the big one for me...our family is very very very Hispanic so with that being said I wanted to make sure he had the music we're used to having at weddings. I am happy to say we had everything from salsa, merengue, bachata to our downright Mexican root music: Bandas, corridos, duranguense and zapateadas! He even played a little country music for me since I'm a huge country fan. Like I previously stated, I believe any experience is what you make it. Personally I loved having my wedding here. Michelle as well as her staff were nothing but kind, respectful and charming to us and our family and I truly recommend this venue to anyone that is looking to have their wedding in a romantic garden setting. We had our wedding this year on April 13th. Michelle was easy to work with, explained everything well, didn't have any issues while planning our wedding which was really nice and stress free. Our wedding was set up beautiful and to my expectations, our cake was beautiful and soo good! My only complaint was that we wanted a certain amount for open bar and with that, only worked for beer and wine and that's what we told Michelle. They gave my guest whatever alcoholic beverage they wanted for free and my bar money was completely gone in an hour, i don't think they wanted to owe me any money back. Obviously my guest were okay with it so I went with it but wish they did what we wrote down on paper. We had food come in from the outside because their food wasn't very good and wish it was better so we didn't have to do that. Our ordain was amazing! Mr.Hinkle! he was so nice and did an amazing job with us! And last, the Dj we went with was Bill. Bill was really cool when my husband and I meant with him, down to earth, seemed to know our type of music, so we chose him, we also had his wife at our wedding doing a photo booth they offer. Which she was really sweet. The day of our wedding he was completely different, wasn't very nice, played some music we wanted but I didn't dance at my wedding at all which was so disappointing because Of course I wanted to but what he was playing is what we didn't want. And the most disappointing thing he did, which still makes me cringe, is the dance i had with my mom, which was going to be so special for me, he played the music video of the song so we had to hear the beginning of the music video which is talking and other things going on in a music video! It was so embarrassing because my mom and I were just standing there waiting to dance. To this day I can't listen to that song because it makes me cringe. I should be happy to hear that song for it should bring good memories but it only brings up embarrassing ones. My husband and i were really disappointed and wish it went differently but we can't take it back. Overall our wedding was beautiful, I would do that day over again in a heartbeat but we would do some things differently if that was the case. read more
