After graduating from school and having some free time, I finally decided to pick up tennis at age 23. In tennis years, 23 is ancient! By this time the top pros are winning major tournaments; Federer and Nadal had each won six majors by 23 (Federer is five years older than Nadal). But I didn't pick up tennis with the intention of going pro, except only to finally pick up a sport I've always enjoyed watching. And a late start is better than no start at all. I'm glad I did because I am in love with the sport! Sometimes I'll unwittingly catch myself practicing my backhand motion in public haha. I chose Tennis Anyone because the varying times they meet during the day, the frequency of meetings during the week, different groups, and at numerous locations allowed greater flexibility with my schedule and skill. When I first started out I had no hand-eye-racket coordination, and I couldn't hit the ball for the life of me! I started out with the Adult group in Claremont where I learned the basics (forehand, backhand, slice, volleys, and serve), and even did a session or two at their Diamond Bar location. A little less than a year ago, I started hitting with the Advanced Academy in Chino Hills. And earlier this summer I was at the level to join their Tournament Academy; this is the group that trains for tournaments and is serious about tennis, and a couple of these high school kids are ranked in Southern California. This group really hones in on your game and drills those difficult shots, like the backhand overhead, running forehand, hitting on the rise, topspin control, etc. To go from not being able to hit the ball to being able to keep up with ranked high school players (though I still get beat up on), at age 26, in a span 3 years, I think, is measureable progress. And if you disagree with me, I challenge you to a match haha! Tennis Anyone has a ton of different location across the Inland Empire area but regardless of what location you go to, the coaches always remember your name (and my name is pretty easy to butcher) and are always enthused to see you. This is paramount to what kept me into the sport and coming back to Tennis Anyone. read more

Wow what a great kids program! The kids are actually having fun! The instructors are so good with the kids. They teach them fundamentals in a manner that the kids enjoy. They turn the lessons into age appropriate games and create an enviorment in which the kids want to learn and enjoy the learning even in the swealtering heat! My 8 year old boy says " I love when the kids play the coaches and we win'! Ha ha ha thats what Im talkin about! Nice job guys! Thank for making it great experience for us! read more

almost no students signing up because the tennis classes sucks. coaches are not well engaging with the students. kids are not learning anything. I expect tennis lessons to be more physically active like a lot of running and ball-hitting but it is not. coaches are very rude and can not answer simple questions. read more

I was looking for a sport for my non-interested in sports daughter to do when I came across Tennis Anyone advertised in the local newspaper. I was finally able to convince her to try tennis. I wasn't sure what to expect but immediately after the first class I was sold and so was my daughter. The coaches are so great with kids and the games they incorporate to teach tennis skills are very clever. My daughter is truly enjoying her tennis time. Thanks Tennis Anyone! read more

Been coming here for about 4 years now. And I tell you what, this place never gets old. If you want to get better, this is the place to be. I use to play high school tennis 14 years ago. I was a pretty good player back then. Went to college and stopped playing for about 10 years. Decided to go to Tennis Anyone for a try and never looked back. I've turned out to be a much better tennis player than I ever was. Learned a lot from Coach Bill. From foot work, to correct forms, to tennis knowledge. I'm at the point where I look forward to every Tuesday and Thursdays to have fun, relax, and be with my Tennis family. This place is worth every penny spent. read more

I really like Tennis Anyone and I think they have great coaches. I would give them 5 stars but they have a horrible coach named george. For starters he is a liar. He tells kids what goes on at college practices, even though he has never been to one or coached one. He also tells kids what they need to do in order to be a ranked player like him. He was and never will be a ranked player. It is a slap in the face to every person that worked hard for a ranking when he says he was ranked. I played George in high school and he was a very bad player. He played #2 doubles for a bad high school tennis team. He is even worse of a player now. The second worse part about George is that he can't feed. He feeds continental and pops the ball ten feet in the error. If it is a volley drill you are only going to practice high volleys. When he tries to feed better he misses half the time, just like when he plays. Maybe on a lower court this works, but bill has him working with the best players there who all complain about his coaching and feeding. Like I said before Tennis Anyone is great. Bill is great and the coaching staff is great. It would be much better if George was not there. In fact George would be okay working with begginners, but he should be nowhere near the tournament academy players. read more

We drive 30 -40 minutes from our house to Arcadia because the coach is that good ( peewee class on Saturdays). We've tried local tennis classes but they are not near as good. He teaches them foundations and makes it fun. Thank you coach! read more

They made me pay for four weeks but refused to let the kids in for more than three since summer was starting!!! Also they refused to let us use a make up class ( due to weather) at the end of our session. Said I had to pay again before we could do that... Very disappointed at cheap tactics.. read more

My son is the type of boy who has a lot of energy that needs to be exerted, whether it's by means of break dancing on our living room floor or jumping off the sofa. He started walking at 9 months and by age 2 I was beside myself trying to find something to sign him up for to get his energy out in a healthy and constructive manner. I had my son start his first pee wee class a month shy of 3 yrs (which is the minimum age requirement for that group). The coaches do a great job in getting the kids excited for Tennis that my son asks to play tennis almost everyday. We live in Fontana and drive to the Chino hills location 2x a week for his 45 min pee wee class, and let me tell you the commute it takes, is hardly a commute at all when I consider the enjoyment that he gets out of it, and the energy that he spends doing something positive and constructive. He is now 5 yrs old and has been attending Tennis Anyone for 2 yrs and is so excited to move up to the beginning group. I am very pleased with Tennis Anyone and in talking with some of the parents I am seeing that there are a lot of students that started where my son started and have taken it all the way to high school and even college. read more

I have had my son and daughter enrolled with Tennis Anyone in Alhambra for over a year off and on. The coaches have always been so professional, and make the classes fun for children to learn. I continue to take my daughter since her schedule works out for Fridays. Highly recommended them to family and friends! read more

I had come to Tennis Anyone with great expectations for a tennis academy that would provide me with the guidance to become an advanced player. However, after a point my game plateaued and even private lessons with Bill did not help at all. He would spend most of the private lesson talking to other players or making a call and the basket of balls he would bring would be pitifully small forcing the majority of the lesson to be spent picking up balls. In the Tournament Academy, he would leave early leaving us advanced players under the guidance of high school players who were never good coaches. Before I went to high school, I quit from Bill in one of the best decisions I've made in my life. I found out about Johnny Allen Tennis Academy and, he started off with correcting my basic form Bill had taught me and in the 5 months I had gone to Johnny, I learned more than I had learned in my many years with Bill. Under the Johnny Allen Tennis guidance, I was able to make the varsity tennis team at my school and I would never have been able to do this with Tennis Anyone. In all, DONT send your child to Tennis Anyone and consider Johnny Allen Tennis Academy instead so you don't make the mistake I made. read more
