If I could rate 0 stars I would! Placed my order in October, knowing that it would be until Christmas Eve when my item would arrive. Christmas Eve arrives, delivery says "there's ice" and they cannot deliver. There was a light sprinkle of snow and my walk was salted. Fast forward to the end of February, delivery reminder call says my order will arrive between 11:45 and 2/3 in the afternoon. I get a phone call that left a vm saying they will arrive in 10-15 minutes this call came at 9:30. I didn't hear the phone as I was preparing my laundry room for my new appliances. My dogs start barking, I see the truck out my window at 9:50. I go to my front door and stand there with the door open for 20 minutes. Not one person left the truck in this entire time. I received another delivery while standing there! Imagine 2 months since anticipated arrival of your appliances without having any working. I want to terminate my order and receive a complete refund, Teppermans is attempting to hold a 10% deposit regardless of their inadequacies and failure to provide my items in a reasonable time. Samsung could have had my items delivered to me by the end of November, I could have Costco deliver similar items in a week. I will NEVER EVER AGAIN shop Teppermans and I strongly suggest you don't either! read more

I purchased a sectional couch 3 years ago most of the time only used by one or 2 adults I will finish their no interest payments in June however the couch is junk ready for the dump. the cushions are sunken in using an extra cushion to be able to sit on it honestly it is going to the dump I can't even give it away. I went to Teppermans and was told I am sol only thing they will do is give me a discount maybe if I purchase another one. Sales people were great, it appears that they are the only people who know how to follow through on your order. Bought over $4000.00 worth of furniture and AV, arranged delivery directly with the Delivery Department, recieved a confirmation which was correct. Four people confirmed the date, rep, payment desk, shipping department, and delivery clerk - all noted on my orders and sent by email as well. Funny how no one who works in the delivery was aware of that, they even told me that they would call me on the Sunday before my Tuesday delivery, because they were closed on the Monday August Civic Holiday. Two days ago, a woman from Teppermans called to tell me my order was not going to ship the day that it was confirmed, her excuse was that they do not have deliveries the day after a holiday. I was honestly very curious to visit teppermans based on their reviews and the fact that they have been in windsor for a long time now. we are buying a house and went in to look at table sets and price out armchairs but immediately knew we were unlikely to buy furniture there - the prices listed do not match the value of their inventory. lots of cheap materials and fabrics are being used. I had asked a sales associate what type of fabric was being used on a specific piece of furniture and he responded "not sure, probably synthetic" like okay yes but that's not really an answer I would feel confident to spend $800-$1000 using. we ended up finding a couple of cute lanterns in the outlet annex and after waiting 10 minutes at customer service (they have no cash register area, just the CS desk) we were told we couldn't buy the two $10 clearance lanterns without opening an account with them - not a financing account we were told, but we would still need to give them our names, address, and phone number - for a twenty dollar purchase! yeah right. I don't recommend buying anything from the store, but can recommend using it to look at dimensions of furniture pieces you need (and then buy from a different store). read more

I bought for 9000$ furniture and appliances from this store. I received the chouches damaged and the microwave too. I called customer service, they sent a technician. When i called back to ask of i can exchange the couches for 2 others smaller they said they cannot exchange or return. I asked the lady that my couches are damages she said the technician didn't mentioned anything about that. One of the couch makes a sweaking noise when we sit on it. For the technician, maybe if i change the leg that could help. For 9000$ I went to the store to change the microwave No one offer help there it was heavy and for the couches I am still waiting their call back which they will never do it. In 1971 we bought our first pieces of furniture from Tepperman's on Ottawa Street in Windsor. We still have them and use them daily. Over the years we have added to these pieces plus purchased bedroom furniture, living room sets, appliances etc., and always been pleased with the quality and longevity of everything. Our motto is 'if you buy quality you will not have to replace it as often'. Tepps has never let us down. A reputation cannot be bought, it has to be earned every day. Our latest purchase was high quality mattresses bought just this month, and Tepperman's treated us just as excellently as usual. We had a little glitch with a gift from the manufacturer and Joan Pillon and Fadi Dandrachi bent over backwards to see that we were satisfied. Very professional and attentive in keeping with Tepperman's tradition, keeping our loyalty intact. Paid $3000 for a loveseat recliner, which oncluded $500.00 for a warrenty. Thought I was buying a quality item. Within first 4 weeks material started piling. Customer service told me I had to buy a fabric shaver. Now 5 months later the motor on the recliner has stopped working. I have been told it will be 4 to 5 MONTHS before replacement can be installed. This furniture that I saved 2 years to buy is a piece of junk and Teppermans WILL NOT take any responsibility or offer any resolution. I purchased 2 leather recliners for ~$5000 in June 2023. We were told the batteries would last "200-250" cycles, which is the equivalent of ~2 months. The batteries are only lasting 2 days before they need recharging. We brought this to Tepperman's attention immediately via Jessica Labadie, and received confirmation the batteries should last 200-250 cycles from the manufacturer. I have not heard back from anyone since despite a half dozen emails asking for a status. Customer Support is non-existent and I will do my best to share this experience with a broader community. read more

This is one of the worst shopping experiences I have ever had. You would think that they could handle a simple cash transaction.- I pay you deliver- but nooooooo. they have to screw that up not once but twice . Twice scheduled delivery . Twice failed. Of course they've had my money for two weeks. No phone calls no apologies nothing. Still no delivery. I'll probably need to get a lawyer involved to get back my money. I'll keep you posted. No Stars for this company. Purchased a new washer and dryer. First delivery date they cancelled on a Saturday. (Truck broke down, it happens). Evening delivery was on time on a week night. Washing machine was not set up entirely even though we paid to have it done. Machine was never plugged in, but we assumed the set up was complete. Turns out two days later when I went to do laundry that the washing machine was dead on arrival. No power at all, won't turn on. I call next day to ask to have it replaced. No, you need to register it and have manufacturer send out a technician to fix the BRAND NEW not working Electrolux washing machine. Not happy with this response, I go into the store to speak to a store manager. This was denied as I was told I need to speak to customer care (again). Same response from customer care. Call the manufacturer and have a service technician come out to look at the washer. So I register the new machines. The manufacturer sets up the wrong machine first and we have to cancel that appointment and set up a new appointment for the washing machine. (Not Tepperman's fault). Two weeks to have a technician come out to tell us the machine is broken. So, two and a half weeks and no washing machine. Tepperman's staff didn't show any compassion to the situation. Customer care was rude, and of course they are not located in Tepperman's but offsite so that they don't have to have a face to face interaction with the customer's. After being a good paying customer for over 25 years. I will never step foot in Tepperman's again. If all goes well, great. But if an issue arrives with any of the products you purchase, GOOD LUCK ! read more

So far, delivery, therefore this company is at zero stars. (Read on for reasons we've updated the review to 2 stars.) We ordered a couch from the Ancaster location and we're told delivery would be the Friday (2 days away). We got a call from London saying it would arrive between 3:15 and 5:15 on the Friday. A couple hours later, we got a call from the sales guy, Michael Bilenki, saying it wasn't going to be delivered for another 2 weeks or so. Disappointed, as we will both be back at work and will have to miss work for the delivery. At 5:30 pm Friday, we get a call saying the truck had mechanical issues, but the couch would be delivered in about 2 hours. Instead of using the day to move most of our belongings out of the way to allow for the couch to fit in, we rushed to do so, cancelling our plans in the process. In order to fit the new couch in, the old couch had to be removed. So outside it went and still is. Unfortunately, it rained the whole time. At 8 pm, we called and they assured us that they were completing order 11, and we were next, and the delivery people were going to work late to have it delivered. Shortly before 11, we got a call telling us that is was not going to be delivered and will call tomorrow for a reschedule.Saturday morning, a call to delivery department, transferred through to many people, and told that it would come on the 4th.... Requested to be put through to someone who could get stuff done because that is unacceptable. We have a very wet couch and our house is in disarray and we have to cancel our new year's eve party. We are waiting to hear back from a manager, but am guessing we will have to call them back and will get nowhere. How can we even believe them when they say it will come on Tuesday, another day we have to sit around and wait.?! Should have read the reviews first as it seems that Tepperman's is a very untrustworthy company. Will update and increase rating if Tepperman's cares to make this better. Update: The manager called us back, offering us the next Wednesday including set-up. After once again explaining the whole situation above, he arranged the delivery today but without set-up. They also waived delivery/set-up fee (I guess so!). It showed up before 1pm. The delivery guys weren't even going to bring the pieces upstairs, but we ensured they did. Hubby brought them in the house and picked up a bag of screws dropped in my parking space that would have likely punctured our tire. In summary, the couch is fantastic, the store and experience at the store was fantastic (thank you, Michael Bilenki), and they did attempt at rectifying the situation, hence the generous amended 2-star rating. But, we will never purchase another thing from the company again (And we're in the market to update several rooms, as are several of our friends.). Lets start with delivery people being so lazy that they would not ring the bell but had their office call me on my cell phone during work hours to make sure someone was home. Told them there is always people in my house just ring the bell. Answer was oh we are there, can you open the door for us..... ring the bell people I'm not there to open the door for you. Called my parent who opened the door right away. That I get a second phone call, of we will not install you washer as we do not do that, while that was not what I was told when I was at the store contemplating to buy from another provider. Purchased a GE range from Tepperman's on Thursday September 10, 2020. Delivery was arranged for Saturday, September 12. To be delivered from 12:30 to 2:30 PM. On Saturday the stove had not arrived by 3:15 PM and my wife, called Tepperman's. They said delivery would be that day. By 5:45 there was no delivery and my wife called Tepperman's a second time to inquire if the stove would come that day. The Tepperman's representative said that it was coming from London and would be at the house by 6:20 PM. At 6:20 a large truck stopped in front of the house with Carr Delivery Service painted on the side. Two men got out. One man came to the door and I said, "You're here. Bring it in". He was immediately confrontational replying, "What does that mean!". I explained that I was ready to receive the new stove but he continued with an aggressive attitude and questioning every word that I spoke. His obnoxious demeanor grew quite threatening. I tried calming him but he rejected it. Finally, being quite uncomfortable, I stated that I did not want him on my property. He did not leave. I said that I would call the police if he continued on my property. He said, "Go ahead!". I called LaSalle Police for assistance. Then he did go to the road. I was concerned about this man and unsure what he might do. On the road he cursed me out a number of times. I saw another deliveryman on the back of the truck and called him to the porch. His name is Exxxx. I asked him the other man's name, Sxxxx, he responded. I inquired if Sxxxx was having a bad day? Exxxx was evasive so I inquired further. Did Sxxxx get in an argument at the last delivery? Is Sxxxx excessively tired? I was searching for a reason for Sxxxx's quarrelsome demeanor. Exxxx could supply no reasoning for this partners aggression. I asked if Exxxx could make the delivery himself and he said he would do it. He then proceeded to unload and bring the new stove to the porch. He went to the kitchen and removed the old unit to the driveway. Exxxx then picked up the new stove on his cart and brought it into the foyer. As the kitchen is on the second floor there are a number of stairs. Exxxx went up the stairs first and pulled the cart. I took the rear position and assisted with lifted the stove up each step. Delivery completed, Exxxx picked up the packing materials and loaded the old unit. Both my wife and myself thanked Exxxx and complimented him for a job well done under difficult circumstances. He did the job but also served to moderate a bad situation. When Sxxxx was cursing me from the road Exxxx asked him to go and sit in the truck. Just as the LaSalle Police arrived the delivery truck pulled away. Constable Wxxxx asked me what was happening. I explained the entire situation. The Constable advised me to report the incident to Tepperman's. I request that Tepperman's take appropriate action to ensure that Sxxxx's duties exclude him from interacting with the public in future. September 14, 2020 I called Tepperman's Customer Care (should be named Tepperman's Don't Care) and asked to set up a meeting with the supervisor. The lady replied that she had to supply notes on the complaint and the supervisor would call me back. It is now September 21, late afternoon but I have no response. Left review on facebook was contacted and told couch would be here December 27th. The 27th came and went no call no couch. Every time we finally get a hold of someone they give us a different excuse. Buyer beware!! I've been buying from Teppermans since the 1990s. I purchased a Hisense tv with extended warranty less than 2 years ago. Back in January I tried to turn it on and got stripes running through the screen. I was asked to call W3 (the extented warranty company) A tv repair guy comes out to look at it, can't give an explanation on what happened. He puts in his remarks that the screen is cracked. (There's not a mark on it, I even kept the packaging incase I ever had to move it.) So I was told that I was out of luck. I argued my case, explained that there's no damage to it whatsoever. I even had Aircraft electronics engineers here at work look at it. Again no explanation on how it happened or why. So finally Teppermans says that W3 will do a one time courtesy replacement and that we just had to wait for the RN paperwork to be sent and that I would be able to pick up a new replacement tv. Well after weeks of phone calls and being put on hold, talking to managers ect. I was told that they decided not to do the right thing and went back on what they said. I'll never shop here again. Had a new washer and dryer set delivered by Tepperman's June 2019. During the delivery Tepperman's spilt water all over my floor and didn't tell me, the dryer they delivered was non functional and I had to bring it back to the store myself in exchange for another unit. The washing machine was dented which they did give me a small credit for. When the Teppermans employee was doing the delivery they gouged my flooring. Teppermans sent an employee out a few days after the deliver who put some liquid on my floor to hide the damage, this failed. I was told they would look into what they can do. Since then Tepperman's has done nothing with respect to the damage to my flooring. I had to get my own contractor out give a quote on the damage this was provided to Teppermans almost a year ago and they have yet to do anything. I have been forced to start a small claims action against Teppermans for the damage they did to my home. I have dealt with Tepperman's for years, including buying nearly all the furniture in my house 4 years ago. After how they have treated a loyal customer when they caused and admitted to causing the damage to my home I would never let them near my home again. read more

They decided to notify me the day of that the delivery time was now changed from early morning to last one in afternoon and if I couldn't be there it would be another week for delivery. Terrible customer service. Sold me a 5 year warranty on a brand new sectional I bought not even 2 years ago and the thing started falling apart at the seams after the first year. I thought I could live with it, but it got worse and so I called to have my sectional warrantied with the extended 5 year warranty I purchased. The woman on the line made me feel like I was stupid. She explained to me that the warranties purchased on couches are for upholstery ONLY, and so therefore the only thing they could fix under the warranty was a ripped cushion. Unfortunately the wood is splitting all around this thing and it's sharp and dangerous. I'm very disgusted that I paid for a warranty under false pretences and I plan to launch a Better Business Bureau complaint against this company. It took 3 of them to just figure out how to start and one was so snarky, I will never return. My fridge died... unexpectedly so, we decided to head to the Bargain Annex to scoop up a deal and replace my fridge. We had a price in mind - we found a couple in that range but were disappointed there was only about 8-9 fridges in the Annex to choose from. The sales associate came over and greeted us. We asked for the fridge measurements which she wrote out for us. Then we asked about delivery. She said yes, they could deliver for $49 - then she asked for my postal code to determine delivery... she looked it up and said, 'ok next wednesday we can deliver'. Now, keep in mind - my house is a 5 minute drive to the store. This was Thursday. My fridge was dead. I needed this today! I asked if arrangements could be made to have it delivered today... she assured me that was not possible. Honestly, $49 for delivery is a tip off, no matter how you look at it. You are a furniture store... pretty much ANYTHING purchased instore needs some sort of delivery or large vehicle to get it home. Delivery should not be an extra charge - (considering I'm less then 5km away) - that's just money in the bank for them... you buy something here at a 'great price' we nail you with a $50 charge. Thanks! Also... for $50 dollars... if I were to pay that... I should have a little more flexibility in when and where my fridge is delivered. A week? really? When your customer has already declared it's an emergency... thanks for being so understanding teppermans. We ended up taking the fridge measurements out to my small SUV trying to figure out if it would fit in the back... didn't look good, but may just fit! We then asked the sales associate if there was any packaging / wrapping on the fridge - she said yes... it's new in packaging from the warehouse - but we could easily remove it with the loading dock guys and make it work. So... we bought it. We had to. We needed a fridge. Even though we said we wanted to pay cash, we were offered financing. She tried to talk us into it - no sorry, cash is king... we'd like to pay cash please. Then she tried selling is some 'insurance' on the product for $160, gave us some speech how devastating it would be to lose groceries the day before Christmas. I told her no thanks, I probably will sell the house in a year or so with the fridge - she persisted it was transferable to the next owner... Again, I advised her NOT interested. Finally, paid... and drove around to the dock. Waited about 10 minutes and someone arrived with our fridge, wrapped in styrofoam and plastic. We asked to unwrap it... he said he could not. They were not allowed to unwrap packages for loading purposes. (What? This contradicts what the sales associate said...) So we unwrapped it ourselves and then tried to get it in the back of the car... it was just an inch short... drat! Luckily, we have family with minivans... so a quick call was made, we waited outside with our fridge - and loaded the van ourselves when my mom arrived to save the day. Overall, Teppermans - you have selection. That's nice. You offer items at varying price ranges. Your customer service however... blah! Your sales associates shouldn't make things up or be so pushy. Listening to a customers needs is key - having the ability to be flexible and help them is crucial. Your delivery system needs to be revamped. We likely won't shop here again - if we can avoid it. You may be close to home... but we'd rather travel farther for better service. read more

I purchased a custom couch from Tepperman's in the summer of 2009. The couch came with a "lifetime" guarantee which was one of the reasons we purchased it. In the summer of 2012 a spring broke in the couch. I called Tepperman's to see when they would be out to fix it. They told me that the company had gone out of business and that they won't be able to help me. The were able to give me a number to call to get it fixed. As luck would have it the next day Tepperman's called to ask when we would like to take delivery of our dinning room table. I explained that we won't be taking delivery unless they fixed my couch. They sent a man out within a few days. My parents purchased a living room set from Tepperman's in fall of 2010, with a five year warranty. A spring broke in their chair and they called Tepperman's and were told that the company that made the furniture had closed and that there was nothing that they could do. I find it quite interesting that companies that supply Tepperman's end up closing. However, a quick internet search produces a company website with contact information. This leads me to believe that the company is NOT out of business and when I called the number I was able to talk to a representative. Additionally, when my elderly parents made that trip to Tepperman's to talk with customer care they were asked to sit in a room with a phone. The customer care person from Tepperman's called the room. She wouldn't even face my elderly parents. She told them in a fairly rude fashion that Tepperman's couldn't help them. That is when my parents were given the number to the "Furniture Medic". If I was Tepperman's I would give the person that was too GUTLESS to talk face to face with my parents the title of "Customer I DON'T Care person". I am thinking of replacing my kitchen appliances and now I have one less place to shop. I will be sharing this poor example of customer service with everyone I encounter. read more

They had delivered a couch with a nail sticking out of the foot that scratched the hell out of my hardwood floors. Upon their review, they accused me of doing most of the scratches! HOW BOLD IS THAT? They also never offered a satisfactory solution to fixing the scratches. They pointed the finger at the delivery company and told me to go after them. They couldn't provide a phone number or address for them. NEVER again will I deal with such a poorly run customer service department again. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I went to vacum my room and under my bed and to come to my acknowledgment the leg of my bed is cracked ,go to lift up my mattress and boxspring, the leg of my headboard had split right in half and I can t even use my frame for my bed,my Husband got a hold of teppermans and they tell us they want 300 for the head headboard,oh and when the guys put it together they did nothing right the support s in the middle of my bed don t even sit flat on the ground ,they are now on a slant,so we decide to get a hold of ashley furniture where the bed came from and they are sending the pieces out for free,what a RIP off this company is ,a 3000 set and teppermans can t fix it but wants to charge us ,so everyone buying stuff make sure nothing falls apart read more

First order was a couch, loveseat, and table set. Tableset drawers did not match up properly and technician you sent said it was a factory defect. So we were invited to order a different set of tables. Which we did. The new set of tables that were delivered had missing pieces and scratched all over the wrought iron (i took videos as I unpacked tables). I sent pics and video to you guys and you came and took them back. I did not want to receive another table from you guys so we left it at that. Now two weeks after purchase some odd clumping of batting in the couch cushions was occurring so we called yet again and once again had to have a technician come out. He said it was not fixable and we were offered an exchange. We came back to teppermans and ordered a sectional (which took a month to come in, meanwhile left with couch with odd cushion issues) and a separate chaise lounger. Upon delivery the chaise lounger s back support was broken, frustrated I called and another technician came out, he said perhaps when it was fit through the door it cracked. A new one was set up to be delivered. So today you came to delivery the new replacement chair. GUESS WHAT? the wrong piece was sent . How? the technician took pictures of the broken piece. I am beyond frustrated. the driver said he would call the store and give us a call back within ten minutes. That never happened. I called the store and after being transferred SEVEN times I spoke to a joanne who said she could arrange for the correct piece to be delivered but it would not be today. WOW, so more time off someone has to take to be there for delivery. This is not my mistake. I asked to speak to a manager and magically no managers are available unless by request. How odd , that an employee cant reach out directly to a manager. At this point in time I want all my furniture picked up, not one single thing has been correct or fixed properly.I am at my wits end and it is not fair for me to have to keep dealing with this. I have shopped at Teppermans for years, generally I am quite happy with my purchases. However when I purchased my home I went in to buy new furniture and appliances. With these purchases I was also offered extended warranties and care packages.... Being that I am in the sales industry myself I went ahead and purchased these extras thinking it would save me in the long run. The sales woman listed all the different damages that would be covered by the warranty for my dinning room set.... including pets, kids, breakage etc./..... Fantastic.... until I actually called because one of the chairs broke and was told ... No that wouldn't be covered. So here I am paying for extended coverages that are useless. read more

I have purchased several appliances now from Teppermans. The fridge I got for a good price and it was easy to make payments on it. I bought an Electrolux W&D with steam. I paid for delivery and SET UP. The guys show up a couple hours late, and even though I had everything there said they don't set them up. I showed them the recipe where I clearly paid for set up and they were very rude. I called customer service and they really didnt care. When it came to finishing paying I called to make sure I had paid it all so that I didnt have to pay the interest. At some point in time I must have made a couple double payments because I had over paid by two months! No one called me to tell me. And I could only use it as store credit. The salesman in the Bargain Annex was very helpful. I am very disappointed with the delivery service and the customer service when I called. read more

Wouldnt give it a 1 but there is no option for less. When you buy new furniture that cannot be repaired when it is brand new, (and I am taking about expensive leather reclining furniture) because you cannot get spare parts from the manufacturer, there is something wrong. After buying a fridge and setting up a delivery date, they didn't show. After calling them they accused me of getting the date wrong. How and why on earth would I get the date wrong? After they delivered the fridge, they damaged it and my floor. When we called to complain they said they would be sending someone out in a few weeks to see the floor. After a month or so, they flat out told me on the phone that they didn't cause any damage and that I'd have to contact the delivery people about it anyway. They also have THREE people working in the delivery office with the same first name, and they will not tell you their last names. This just made the process of communication impossible and they couldn't care less. They had the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Avoid this store like the plague. read more
