This is a very popular spot -- it's located very near Stage AE and the stadiums, so it gets pretty crowded after concerts and sporting events. Students from the local universities come here all the time. There are bars and ice carts with beers + seltzers all over the place. The main room has a pretty big dance floor, and there is another room with karaoke + some outdoor space. You'll probably have to wait to order at the bar, but not longer than any other bar. One thing I will say is that staff is all over you from the moment you walk in. I've never felt like I was being babysat so much. There are attendants in the bathroom, which helps keep it clean and stocked and keep things moving, so it was nice in that regard. And I understand they don't want there to be long lines or have people crowding there. But it made it tough to keep track of everyone in our group when we were constantly being shooed out of hallways and away from doors and alcoves -- pretty much the only place they just let you be is in the middle of the crowded floor. Came in before a Steelers preseason game and the place was electric. They had a live band who was good. We came in after there set started and they never gave their name while we were there. The drinks were balanced well and there was plenty of police officers and security because this place can get a little rowdy. Our server was fantastic as we sat up by the tequila bar even though she was completely slammed. We had already had dinner but we ordered the pretzel app and it was solid. The highlight was while the country band was playing the Steel Line came in and took over when they finished a song. The band on stage had absolutely no idea that 35 drummers and a couple of horn players were going to take over. The place lost its mind and the band was recording everything for their socials. After having gone, I can't say it quite lived up to the hype, but that may be a personal opinion. I'm really not big on dancing, but if you are then this place is for you. There are at least two dance floors from what I got to explore. The energy is very dance bar-esque (I can hear how stupid I sound in saying this) and if you are in the market for that then this is the place. I do think the addition (or re-addition, rather) of a mechanical bull would make this place more appealing to more people. Overall, this was alright. Im interning in Pittsburgh this summer and Tequila Cowboy had to be the first bar I went to. My first day there was really good, a lot of young people my age and they are strict with ID so there is no under 21 people coming in, which is good. Something I would say about it is that there are a lot, and I mean a lot, of older gentlemen just sitting by themselves. At first I thought it was me and it only weirded me out, but after talking to a couple people they felt the same way.
