What's a girl to do while on work travel? Try as many restaurants as possible! Well I usually never try Mexican spots in Texas but this place had a high rating. I follow my leads from my fellow Yelpers. Glad I did. I drive in, "aye Dios mio", the parking is packed. But I know this means it's gotta be good. I finally find a parking. I walk into a packed restaurant. I'm excited now. I spot a table in the corner and ask if I can sit there, it's just me. The lady says no cause the kitchen is backed up. I agree to wait. Owner to the rescue! The owner comes out (maybe manager) and asks if I'm there for a to-go order I say no, he seats me at the table I saw upon entry. He takes my order, I'm seated, and order taken immediately. Food took about 8 mins to come out. I was in a rush and got Nachos since another Yelp review said they were great and they were Amazing! The gentleman who helped me told me to come back to try the meats. I hope I have a chance to come back soon. Perfection! read more

Best ever fajita nachos... we got a full order and shared it. The chips were delightfully crispy... too Many times they are soggy at places we've tried. We asked for meat and queso on the fajitas (queso $1.50 add-on, and well worth it). Great service, refills without having to ask. Hubby loved the sweet tea! read more

My husband and I went to go eat after not always having a good experience but he wanted to go. We ordered appetizers and only his came. He had to go tell them mine never came. The waitress came with our food and apologized but wasn't very sincere about not bringing it to me. She brought my sauces for my food way after I started eating and I had told her I didn't want them. The service was slow and not accurate so I didn't tip at all and I had not done that in a very long time. I will not go back there are other Mexican restaurants that do way better. The dining area is quaint. The establishment utilizes simple long tables for seating. I assume as another reviewer posted that it was once a pizzeria as there are still Italian paintings on the walls. The food is a very pleasing TexMex variety. The service is astoundingly quick. They also have an old school CD juke box, which on my two visits seemed to be a hit with kids. This place is ideal for birthday parties and similar events as it is preset for large groups. Former pizzarea that is well kept up both inside and out. The dining area was updated some years ago and still is as tidy as ever. We've been eating here for many years and have never seen it wanting for busing or cleaning, those not waiting are always tending to the area. Large, varied Tex-Mex menu with a decent selection of seafood items as well. Their standard salsa is tame but they have two different salsa verdes (for the asking) that are fantastic. This is a fairly sizeable building and has lots of table space. It would be ideal for large parties and have seen our share of them there. Always excellent service, good prices and great food keeps us coming back. Edit: to correct a review on 8/9/14 there is no buffet at this location. read more

Good quality Mexican/ TexMex food here. It isn't spectacular, but nothing I had here was anywhere close to bad either. Chips and salsa tasted fresh (and were never empty), the food was well spiced and also tasted freshly prepared, and the margaritas I drank also tasted as though they were freshly made. This is saying a lot too, seeing as how so many places these days poor you nasty sweet and sour mix out of a plastic jug they procured off the back of a Sisco truck. So, simply by preparing all their food and drink fresh, Tequila's is heads and shoulders above 90% of all the other so called TexMex or Mexican places nearby. The waitstaff is also wonderful, and they're happy to speak with you in Spanish. If you want some good tasting fresh food, at reasonable prices, and boozy drinks, this might be the place for you. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll for sure stop in here. read more

This is my favorite tex-mex restaurant in my area.. The service is spectacular, and I especially love the different shrimp platters they serve...I've tried the grilled, diablo, coconut, pineapple, and cancun shrimp platters and they were all perfect. Jumbo gulf shrimps cooked just perfect and the sides are diff depending on the platter but r always paired greatly with the main course and always good:) this is my first 5 star review.. Service, food and cleanliness are all great.. But do not mistaken this restaurant with the one near central mall.. Central mall location is incomparable!!! read more

Went with a party of 5, nobody liked their meals very much at all except me. I got Costa Rican fish (which tasted like it was probably tilapia,) and it had a lobster sauce on it which was pretty tasty. Everyone else got Mexican type foods, which looked and tasted pretty sub par. Their salsa reminded me of BBQ sauce, wasn't a fan. Asked for hotter sauce and what they brought us was really sweet. Queso was not good, we barely touched it. Chips were thick and hard. If you're picky about your Tex-Mex, or food in general, I'd skip this place. Most of us found our margaritas too sweet. Step it up, guys! It's a very lovely building, they just need to take a little more pride in their food. read more

This was my first time at this restaurant and my last time!!! The manager/owner/brother of the owner was extremely UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I have never been to a restaurant where the customers get treated so poorly. The tacos that we ordered were burnt and we politely informed the waitress of that. We even indicated that because it was late they didn't have to remake it. Our waitress was very polite and took the plates. Another waitress proceeded to rudely talk about us to the cooks and other employees basically in front of us when she didn't even serve us!!! The manager approached our table and directly started a verbal argument with one of my friends. It was unbelievable. You could hear the argument all the way inside the bathroom (which by the way was gross!!). As a manager or even as a "gentleman", arguing with a table of female customers made you look like a jerk without any education!! You sir turned this MINOR incident into a major problem. I hope that in the future you learn how to be more diplomatic!!! read more
