We came out here for a football game and decided to eat before driving back to Kingwood. We decided to stop here and have some authentic Mexican food. The quality of food was a disappointment. The price for a typical deluxe plate was $13 dollars and the tamale and enchilada was so skinny and tasteless- I will never return. I have gone several times and did dine in and take out. It's ok and better than some. The recent take out was not what than I expected because I went by the prices shown on their website. I did not use the photos of the menus people post since they might be outdated. I was expecting about $25 for two orders. Surprise!!!! It was almost $35. I mentioned to the girl I was paying that it was more than what the website showed. Her reply....."we don't have any control over the website". REALLY???? You can't update your online prices but you can print new in store menus with new prices. I will have to pass on this place next time I want Mexican food. I don't think I can express in words how amazed I am at 10 de Mayo. From the moment we walked in the door, to the moment we walked out, everything was great. This was our first time here. The service was fantastic, but the Mexican food is absolutely the best I've found in Southeast Texas, 100%. Of course, that's my opinion, but everything was delicious. The fresh guacamole . For my entree, I had the El Presidente, which is fajita steak, onions and peppers with cheese melted on top. It also includes four pepper-stuffed, bacon wrapped shrimp and of course, awesome tortillas. We finished dinner off with fried ice cream and sopapillas. I didn't try the ice cream, but my wife and youngest son destroyed it quickly. The sopapillas were out-of-this-world good, with honey drizzled on top. 10/10 for me for sure, and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't been to give them a try. read more

My only negative thought about this place would be the parking, definitely needs more. The servers are the best, they remember us, they are super friendly and attentive. read more

Tonight was my first night to try this place. My first impression wasn'tnt great as we stood in the front for 4-5 minutes as waiters stared at us not saying hi or really acknowledging us. Finally the hostess came up and found us a table fast which was nice. Our waiter was fantastic, wish I could remember his name. Despite being busy he kept a smoke in his face. I had cheese enchiladas, refried beans and rice which was great. Their queso was good but they forgot about it so it came with meal. Over all it was good. Can't go higher. True, "Meh" Saturday, 4o'clock in the afternoon. Quiet. One couple in the restaurant when we arrive. When dining at a place like this, we're talking Tex-Mex. Plain and Simple. Therefore, My wife and I use a comparison scale calibrated to the Casa Olé (C-O) standard. Price and Food. Cheese Enchiladas with beans and rice is a reliable acid test. Without a doubt, the food and price was significantly worse. Below is my expanded review. Presentation was standard; beans on one side, rice on the other. Cheese Enchiladas were small and only two of 'em. Regular size corn tortillas, rolled tight with a diameter no greater than a standard cigar. What the waitress presented were little enchilada islands surrounded in a sea of cheese-oil. Seems the "chef" overheated the dinner in the microwave. Some of the yellow colored cheese had adhered to the side of the plate. Grim. Negative C-O standard, big time. Beans. Generous portion. They were far from from flavorless; hints of garlic and or onion. However the taste and the texture we're thoroughly homogenized. Certainly not above the C-O standard but near equal. Rice. Tender. Not clumpy. But, does not mean it is good or bad. YMMV. Reddish hue. Maybe some cumin. Maybe tomato. Maybe. Inoffensive ~and~ uninspiring. Negative C-O standard. $9 for this masterpiece. This was truly some of the worst Mexican food I've ever had. I went with a group of friend (none of us are from here, but live here now). We've all been in search of great Mexican food, and have found one Mexican restaurant and one more Tex Mex place that were good. My husband had been here before and never enjoyed it, but since we all had heard that it was good, we wanted to make our own decisions. From a group of people who all either finish their meal, or take it to go, every one of us left about half of our meal on the table (even 2 kids who said their cheese enchiladas and chicken quesadillas were 'gross' - I'm not sure how you mess those up). This food cost above average, and really was 'gross'. And service was also very slow. Anyway, we certainly won't be back. read more

Their fajitas are very tasty.. and a good portion for two... the sauces here were also delightful. The only drawback, in our opinion, was the margaritas. They were quite strong... and awful. Ordered our family dinners to go (pick-up) including fajitas for 2 and a huge special dinner with lots of extras. Over $60.00 worth of food. Got home and the fajitas looked uncooked. The chicken and beef were pinkish raw in color with barely any evidence of grilling what so ever. The vegetables were raw as well. I called to complain and asked for the Manager. When I spoke with the manager he stated that the raw vegetables on top of the fajitas was only for display. No apologies or attempts to make a wrong right again. Stopped in the other day and had a chicken fajita salad. Tasty chicken on a pretty basic taco salad complete with fried tortilla shell. Chips and salsa were good. Prices seem quite reasonable. I hear they have a really tasty breakfast buffet. I'll let you know. read more
