I rule from Southern California - the Capitol of Burgerland. So maybe the level of the bar in my burger reviews is inflated. I believe the level burgerdom at Ter Marsch is good quality - yet mediocre in taste.
The bun is stale. At least mine was. I'm not sure if it was intended to be in that condition. The burger is thick and juicy, but lacking in the fresh beefiness that I wanted.
What sets it apart is the aioli sauce - really top notch. The lettuce fell out. Shredded lettuce would have been better.
The problem was the hockey puck burger sat high in the middle of the bun. When you bite into it, you get a mouthful of bun, and the hockey puck gushes out the side. If you bite into the hockey puck the rest of the ingredients gush out the side and down your hand, and you're left with disintegrated stale bun pieces.
Sweet potato fries were ok, and the truffle sauce sent it over the top.
But honestly, it's middle of the road in Southern California Burger Land.
Ter Marsch and Co was such a fun stop while exploring Amsterdam. I ordered the croquettes and the loaded fries and they did not hold back. The croquettes were perfectly crispy with a creamy filling and the dipping sauce was addictive. The loaded fries were a full-on masterpiece piled high with cheese, bacon, herbs, and all the good stuff. Every bite was rich, messy, and exactly what you want when you are in full vacation mode. The vibe inside was lively and casual and everything just hit the spot. Definitely a must-try if you are looking for something indulgent and delicious.
Service was lovely but the food was not so great. The restaurant looks trendy and updated but is definitely geared toward tourists and hotel guests. If you want a burger it'll do.
Ter Marsch & Co is a hamburger restaurant located about 1.5 km away from Central Station. It is an extremely popular location so is normally really busy so would recommend getting their early to secure a seat and be served on time. The sweet potato fries were great and hamburgers were pretty good. Service took awhile with how busy it was and interior felt very cramped. Still a great hamburger option while in Amsterdam and would recommend giving it a shot if you're craving fries and a burger.
The food was ok. The fries weren't super crispy and the cheese is only concentrated on top with little underneath. The inside of the restaurant is also quite dirty and not a cozy place to enjoy your meal.
Absolutely amazing burgers in the Flower Market District of Amsterdam! I was not expecting absolutely phenomenal food. We had such a pleasant evening eating amazingly flavorful hamburgers, fries and sweet potato fries with such sauces as truffle Mayo and also chipotle. Here's a surprise; the draft Heineken tastes amazing ( I guess because it's brewed here in town). I normally dislike sitting outside but the temperature was 72 with no humidity Very highly recommended!
This place has a cute vibe! The waiters were awesome about our keto burger requests (no bun). Sadly the burgers were way overcooked. The truffle mayo is delicious!
There is a reason this is the best burger in Amsterdam! I ate at Ter Marsch in Rotterdam five years ago and I still dreamed of that burger so I had to stop while in Amsterdam. I had the Gojira which had an outstanding flavor profile. It comes as two sliders which is perfect to savor the flavor. The beer is also amazing!
Good burgers. Perfect central location. It is part of the NH hotel building, separate entrance from the side.
Good menu, good meat and burger served right with great bread buns and all the good fillings promised. Fries are optional but are good with nice sauces.
Service is not stellar but it makes its job.
It would be a 4 star for quality but it is a bit too pricey. It's the location's cost probably and it is in a perfect touristic trap location.
I was there for lunch so not too crowded even on Saturday.
Drinks of any type, still over priced.
They make a pretty good espresso, Lavazza.
Terrible service. They spilled our beer serving and didn't take it off or replace it. Asked for burger well done snd it was raw. Worst experience in awhile. read more
