Then, we suddenly received a text stating we had one day to make a deposit payment before the appointment. What makes this worse is that the office staff could not provide anything in writing when asked. First, we were told this policy had always existed for all new patients, then later told it was "new." The inconsistency and lack of professionalism were concerning. Their website has an entire page dedicated to new patients, and nowhere does it mention a $50 deposit requirement. It does, however, state they can perform insurance checks ahead of appointments to confirm coverage, which makes the lack of transparency around this unnecessary and poorly communicated deposit even more frustrating. When asked to run the insurance check, I was told they could do it up to 48 hours before the appointment, but we would still each be required to pay the deposit regardless. Policies involving deposits and financial obligations should be communicated clearly at or before booking, not sprung on patients at the last minute with no written acknowledgment or agreement. We never even made it to the office because this situation completely destroyed confidence in the practice. Put it in writing or don't do it. This is not about the money; it's about proper business practices, transparency, and communication.

FAMILY First Dental would be the 6th dental company to be the last to work on the same molar. I was happy to hear that Dr. Zavala came up with a technique to make a crown for my molar that would ensure it will not have a problem staying on. As soon as he saw my molar he knew why the other dental places had failed. He told me that in order for a molar to have a proper crown the length of the molar had to be atleast 2mm. My molar was 1mm on one side and 1/2mm on the other side. Therefore he exposed more of the molar by cutting the gum because the xrays showed my molar was long. He made a different type of groove to make sure it stuck. Instead of the traditional, he made a cross indentation in the middle. I was "wow" that looks like a cross which I loved. It made me feel like yep God is blessing me. He knows how much I've go e through with this molar. Today I got the permanent crown delivered and it feels great. I can finally eat food without worrying and my molar is protected. Family First Dental staff made me feel like they actually cared about doing the work correctly and also gave me information where I understood what was being done and why. They have made me very happy and I'm definitely bringing my kids here. I've had this fear of dental places because it seemed they just want to do things at a 50% quality not Famiky First Dental. I later visited another reputable dental office in Dr. Phillips, where my gums were measured and confirmed to be within healthy range. They assured me a regular cleaning was all I needed. It's now clear to me that this office was trying to upcharge for unnecessary treatment. What's even more concerning is the condition of their tools--they appeared worn out and poorly maintained, which is unacceptable in any healthcare setting. You may walk in with a smile, but after being misled and overcharged, you likely won't leave with one. Be cautious and get a second opinion before agreeing to any treatment here.
