I'm extremely disappointed with the care--or lack thereof--my family received during a recent medical concern for my son. I was out of the country and sent a message through the patient portal early in the morning. Despite multiple follow-up calls from both myself and my mother, we received no response from the doctor. The office told my husband and mother to bring my son in, which they did--traveling over an hour to get there before closing. Despite arriving while Dr. Miller was still in, she never came out to assess him, nor did she or her team respond to any of our messages or calls. Over a week later, and her team still have not reached out to us. My husband ended up taking our son to urgent care. This is especially upsetting coming from a team that has cared for my child since birth, without any issues. We will not be returning and will gladly find care elsewhere. P.S. As several other comments state, yes -- the front office staff is rude! read more

My kids have been seeing Dr. Miller since they were little, and are now young adults. I am so gratefuI to have found her since moving from Los Angeles with Dr. Biederman. She is genuinely patient and thorough, and takes the time to explain everything. Her cut off age is 21 years old, and though it may seem old to some, it makes TOTAL sense. As your adult child becomes independent, they put their annual physicals on the back burner, and Dr. Miller tries to teach them the importance of maintaining good health habits. The office staff is rude and inefficient. I should have taken it as a red flag when during initial phone calls they were so rude and abrupt before I even met them in person. Important to note: this office takes 2 hour lunch breaks from 12 noon until 2pm with no phone coverage. The staff made sure to impress upon me that they get back from lunch at 2pm, clearly annoyed that I had called completely unaware of their extended lunch time. Then, when I arrived to check in for the appointment, the receptionists were so cold and tense. You could feel the discomfort in the room that was cut only by the kids TV show playing in the background. The receptionist asked for my baby's insurance card as expected but never gave me the new patient paperwork to start as I waited. Because of this I had to fill out the paperwork during the actual appointment which took time away from talking with the nurse and doctor. Thankfully I had my questions written down but it was still distracting to have to complete the paperwork at the same time. Dr. Miller and the nurse we saw were both friendly and efficient, which was a refreshing change from the office staff. The nurse completed all of the initial tests and measurements quickly and gently. She also was quick with the required vaccines and did her best to minimize the baby tears of shock. Dr. Miller answered all of my questions and was very reassuring. I had further negative experiences with the office staff when I called to leave a message for the doctor with a non-urgent question. I was told that they would take the message and the doctor would call me back in a day or two. The office staff told me that I could email the doctor pictures so I did. I didn't hear anything for a week and called again to leave a message. I sent a message on the Torrance Memorial portal because I wasn't confident that the emails were getting through and my phone messages were proving ineffective. I emailed again to follow up after not hearing anything for a week and Dr. Miller responded saying she was out of town (her office staff failed to mention that) and her tone sounded annoyed. We were able to get an appointment once Dr. Miller was back in the office and the nurse who did the preliminary checks was very rough with my baby. She stuck the thermometer up her butt really hard and deep and my baby started crying. What is more gross is that the nurse seemed to enjoy it. She had a lot of tattoos on both arms and talked about her vacation to Mexico. My baby also started getting rashes while we were waiting for the doctor in the exam room. Unfortunately, while I believe Dr. Miller and some of the nursing staff are professional, I changed pediatricians simply due to the office staff and that one nurse. I don't feel like dealing with their attitudes and I don't trust that they are actually passing along the messages. Thankfully I had this experience with a non-urgent issue and I don't want to wait to find out what would happen in the event of a truly urgent issue. read more

My review is long overdue! Years ago, my son suddenly started having joint pain, swelling, and redness--first in one ankle, then the other, and eventually in both knees. It got so bad he could barely walk. We saw two pediatricians, but neither could figure out what was causing it. Then we saw Dr. Teresa Miller, and she was incredible. She really took the time to listen, showed genuine care, and made us feel heard. Her bedside manner was amazing, and I'll always be grateful for the way she approached my son's care. She knew exactly what tests to run to figure out exactly what was happening in his body. She found the cause and the right treatment plan to help him get well. I highly recommend Dr Teresa Miller because of her incredible insight and attention to detail that the other pediatricians missed. She always makes time for us, doesn't have a long wait in the lobby, and is extremely knowledgeable, prepared, and personable during appointments. Most of our care needs have been typical check ups, but we've had a few more specialized concerns, particularly with a newborn born during COVID. Dr Miller's front office leaves a bit to be desired but the doctor herself is just great - we came to her based on several recommendations from parenting groups in the area. We really got lucky with Dr. Miller. She has been amazing with our daughter from birth until now, almost 1! The highlights: -She's very thorough. She asks a lot of good questions and gives you great feedback and answers to yours. -We've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to get into a room, never more than 15 minutes to be seen, -She responds VERY quickly when you call in with a "is this normal?" question. -She's sweet and great with our little one. -The girls on staff are all awesome too! 5 stars from us! read more

I am so happy I found Dr. Miller to treat my baby girl! I honestly wish I had been in her network as soon as she was born.We started seeing her when our girl was only 9 months for her well check-ups, and instantly I felt like we were in better hands. To start, the front office staff is so friendly, and kind. It's as if they like being around children (which weirdly, was not the case at my previous pediatrician's office)! The waiting room is also very roomy, well-lit, and all the times I've been there, never overbooked. I've had to go in pretty frequently since my little girl keeps getting longer but not wider, but every time I've gone, it hasn't felt unnecessary or unwarranted. Dr. Miller and her staff genuinely care if your kid is doing well! She takes time to answer any and all nagging questions, patiently and thoroughly. Finally, and perhaps most important to the new moms out there (especially in a big city like Los Angeles), Dr. Miller & her staff, will actually call you back to answer any worrying questions about symptoms! It's a big deal to me, because more often than not, most doctors in this area either don't respond to messages/voicemail, or will just have you come in, take your co-pay, and then say, well, the illness just needs to run its course (something that could have simply been said on the phone). On the flip-side, if you're genuinely worried, Dr. Miller's office will happily try to arrange a same-day appointment. Really can't recommend her and her office enough. They're amazing. read more

She took the time to get to know us and our family, our values and plans for next steps when it came to potty training, food, education etc and made us feel very welcome. So after I went to a pediatrician who had high ratings on Yelp I was disappointed by the misdiagnosis. My boy had a high fever for a week and he didn't even tell me to alternate between Tylenol and Motrin which may have helped break my sons fever. I finally asked a friend for a referral and got to Dr. Miller. My son had pneumonia. Dr Miller knew immediately and we got chest X-rays and did bloodworks all on the same day. What impressed me was the level of care and the speed of which they were able to treat my son and also the level of follow up care. She called me personally twice to give me the results from the tests and also to check up on my boys progress and also to proactively schedule any follow up care. She has awesome bedside manners and is super smart and intuitive. My son loves her even after he had to get 2 painful shots in the ass. Great facilities too with ample free parking. I found my pediatrician for life and I am proud to refer her here on Yelp after a long and desperate search. The staff is also sharp and very helpful. I was very impressed!!!! I really wanted to switch back to Kaiser after being disappointed with my maternity care while with Anthem Blue Cross, but I am choosing to stay with this group solely because of Dr. Miller...she is that good.
