I genuinely feel like she wants me to be living my best life and can give me practical ways to get there. I struggle with anxiety and depression and after we tried a few medication strategies, she referred me to a psychiatrist. I really appreciated that she was willing to try a few things on me, but wasn't too proud to refer me to a specialist once things weren't working as planned. I have also had a few anxiety-related symptoms and felt like she handled them delicately and in a way that could help relieve this anxiety. I also really like the online portal. When something small comes up that I am concerned about, I am always able to get a quick answer- whether it's advice, prescriptions, or a visit scheduled. I also like being able to see our appointment notes easily. I definitely feel like she is my advocate. If something makes me uncomfortable or anxious she always has another suggestion or a way to make things better. With my physical exams, I feel really at ease. She is gentle and continues to check in with me and provide me with information. I like how she provides suggestions as we go and lets me know areas that I am healthy and areas to watch. I feel like we never miss anything and that I can be very honest with her about my physical and mental health.

She was the one that pushed me to investigate my symptoms with specialists which was critical to avoiding what could have been an emergency. She is a good listener and I would recommend her for women's health care.

(Darn it Yelp I was 'too far away to check in' for my 815pm sennin-so shiatsu session on 2/17/18!)…read more Just as well, because it's time for an update six months later after completing 23 sennin-so shiatsu sessions. A lot has transpired since my first introductory session where I was absolutely clueless about a transformative journey I was embarking on. I sincerely thank Edmond Gordon, DPT for referring me to Adam Hewitt, LMP owner and health practitioner at The River Stone Shiatsu Center. Yes, it took a reprioritization for time, finances, self care, and firm commitment to see it through. I had to also open my mind to learn new concepts and be receptive to change. Cumulative effects from stress, bad indulgent diet, lack of quality sleep, sedentary lifestyle, and a host of chronic conditions and other issues presented as a challenge. I needed to own up and do something to improve my quality of life. There was a time I could swim laps for an hour, run 12 miles a day, ride my bike 50 miles, carry multiple 50 pound bags of material. My mantra was that I can sleep all I want when I'm dead. Life's too short, eat dessert first. It was always go, go, go, go, go! That was then, fast forward to now. My lifestyle, attitude, and stressful environment caught up with me. Is the rest of my life just going to be full of pain, restrictions, medication, and essentially waiting to die. That's not how a two time cancer survivor and parent should celebrate life. What has sustained my visits? Realizing that this isn't placebo effect or some sort of unexplainable woo-woo mystical event. Each person presents differently, there isn't an instantaneous voila moment. Sennin-so shiatsu is an ongoing, fluid process. Adam Hewitt is the consummate and personable professional who takes his sennin-so shiatsu training and sincere wish to help others seriously. This is also the same sentiment shared by the other practitioners, Kacey Farrell and Taylor Guske, at The River Stone Shiatsu Center. You become a wellness team. What you put in is what you get out. Trust and communication are key. There's pain, setbacks, and life events that can easily derail you. But with Adam's guidance and consistent powerful healing finger pressure, gets you in tune with your body and learn what makes it tick efficiently. Eventually the improvement with circulation in tandem with retooling diet, hydration, exercise, lifestyle habits, stress management, and sleep quality...you will experience amazing improvements. Seriously. You stop internalizing, this reduces inflammation, identify and prevent pain triggers, and start feeling healthier and more energetic. All positive gains! Just have to give it time to see what truly works best for you. Health is wealth, and there's an immense return on investment on so many levels. I'm well beyond clueless, progressed past calling it Fingers of Death or Vulcan Death Grip, well past being an adoring fan, I'm a believer. The River Stone Shiatsu Center is truly life altering. If I could give this updated post ten solid Yelp stars, I would.

I also have multiple other bulging discs like I mentioned previously in my back and my next spines. I cannot bend over I cannot take care of my basic needs anymore I have become fully disabled and fully unable to work. Doctor Lee was the only person who ever took my treatment seriously and the only reason I had to stop seeing her was because my work for one didn't file my work injury claim properly, I work at the shipyard in Seattle as a longshoreman and marine machinist and marine heavy diesel mechanic working on all of the Washington State ferry boat machinist and mechanical repairs and all of the US Navy military warship destroyer projects department of Defense projects and contract jobs. My employer never filed my work injury claim at all and cut off my health insurance over a year ago. I haven't even been able to continue with the basic care that I need.
