I didn't realize until I got to the drug store that this closest one to my hotel was a part of a shopping mall. I don't visit malls all that often these days because they are a death trap as far as time and spending go. I am a shopper at heart and can spent hours at one. It was exactly what I did last weekend. From the outside, you can certainly tell which part was the original mall and which wing is relatively new. I looked at the new wing and it looked like it was detached from the mall. Nope, you can walk every part of it indoors without freezing outside in the wintertime. The store has a good selection of stores. It has many of my favourites, such as Winners, Kitchen Stuff Plus, Showcase, DAVIDs Tea, SoftMoc, Showcase, and Shoppers Drug Mart. There are plenty of places to sit down if you are too pooped to shop. The target shopper seems to be folks 60 years of age and higher, which could explain all the places for folks to sit down, chat with friends, and enjoy a beverage. Although I'm not in that demographic, it sounds pretty good to me! Signs are clearly displayed to help guide you around the mall. There is free wifi if you do need to connect online. There is a food court. I didn't eat there, but there are many options to choose from. And, yes, there's a Timmy's to get your double-double fix on. I had lunch at Sunset Grill on my final day in Hamilton. It was Family Day and this mall was closed. However, Sunset Grill has its own entrance at this mall, so I was happy to have lunch here. I used one of the women's washrooms at this mall last Saturday. It was clean and maintained frequently. It's a good mall if you want something smaller than Lime Ridge Mall, but has pretty much everything you need. I'd return to shop here again. (76)

Last month, when I was briefly in Oakville for a couple of days, I needed a Shoppers Drug Mart…read more(SDM). I did a search and ended up going to the one at Oakville Place. It was the closest one to me. I normally like standalone drugstores. I don't spend as much. Get me visiting a mall and I'm bound to shop. It happened here, but I contained my shopping madness down to this mall wing with SDM and the food court above it. It's a decent mall. It has Pearl, a Chinese dim sum restaurant that I like. I typically go to the one at Bayview Village. It was nice to see one west of Mississauga. The dining room looked gorgeous as I walked over to the mall entrance. The SDM is steps away from the main mall entrance, which I appreciated. I got what I was looking for and more. This same wing of the mall had Claire's. I ended up getting Squishmallows and a Grogu bucket hat. It was nice finally visiting the LL Bean store. I love the products, but there are rarely any sales that make me want to buy anything. The mall ceilings are nice. There's lot of glass that allow natural light to shine in. It's cool and cheerful. There are also various decor accents, such as triangular lighting and dangling spiral installations, that are pleasing to the eye as you walk around. The food court is cool. There was a bee installation where you could read up on how wonderful bees are. I didn't end up dining at the food court. However, there was a sushi clearance at the end of the night at Sushi Mac. I couldn't resist and bought some sushi to bring back to my hotel room. There is a Kernels-Yogen Fruz store on the main floor. I dropped by to get popcorn at Kernels before leaving the mall. Popcorn is my weakness. I got two bags to feed by popcorn habit. I was only in one wing of this mall and enjoyed being there. I would likely be broke if I had walked the entire mall that evening. It's a good mall. (428)

However, their food court is absolutely terrible. Very, very old, hardly any options and in major need of a revamp. It's not my first choice of malls but if I am in the area with time to kill, a little window shopping is never a bad idea

Who would have thought that tucked away in Hamilton lies a temple to authentic Japanese ramen that…read morewould make even the most seasoned noodle enthusiast weak at the knees? Certainly not me, until I stumbled upon Tomdou Ramen during an afternoon stroll that transformed into a culinary epiphany. The unassuming storefront practically whispered "come in for some ramen" as I passed by, and I'm eternally grateful I heeded that call. Having only experienced the pedestrian pleasures of Shin instant noodles, I was about to embark on a ramen journey that would forever ruin packaged noodles for me. The staff--absolute gems--guided this ramen novice through their menu with the patience of culinary sherpas leading a first-timer up Mount Umami. I began with chicken karaage that was nothing short of transformative. The exterior achieved that holy grail of crispiness--shattering with each bite to reveal impossibly juicy meat within, seasoned with an expert hand that balanced salt, spice and umami in perfect harmony. For the main event, I surrendered to the classic Tonkotsu Ramen with pork belly and soft egg. The noodles! Oh, the noodles--chewy with just the right resistance, worlds away from their instant cousins. They swam in a pork bone broth that can only be described as transcendent--slightly creamy with a depth of flavor that doesn't just tantalize your taste buds but seems to activate entirely new sensory receptors. It's the kind of broth that makes you close your eyes involuntarily with each spoonful, silencing conversation as you process the complexity dancing across your palate. The pork belly practically melted against my tongue, while the soft egg--with its jammy, golden heart--added richness that made me want to slow time to savor each heavenly bite. This isn't just food; it's an experience that transports you from Hamilton to a side street in Tokyo. The intimate counter seating (accommodating just about 10 lucky souls at a time) and authentic Japanese decor create an atmosphere of being wonderfully elsewhere. Fair warning to larger groups: patience will be required, but I promise every minute of waiting will be rewarded tenfold. I left with profound gratitude to the staff who facilitated this mind-opening food experience, already planning my return with friends who need to be initiated into this ramen revelation. In a world of culinary hyperbole, Tomdou Ramen deserves every superlative. It doesn't just serve food; it offers transcendence in a bowl.
