What a hidden gem in Burlington! I've lived in Burlington for the past 5 years and only came upon this restaurant today when I made a wrong turn and saw this restaurant. Google gave them great reviews, Yelp however the reviews weren't that great. So I took a chance and boy was I glad I did!! Ambiance: It's a cute small but modern restaurant. Very clean and the decor was nice with Japanese dividers between tables to give you some privacy. Service: The service was amazing. The lady that served us might be a owner she was so nice and so helpful. She came by to make sure we were ok. Food: Ok this maybe simple but the simple things are what makes me love a restaurant. They water they kept Refilling for for us had a hint of lemon in it. It's so simple but a nice touch! We started with beef gyoza it was fried to perfection and so tasty. Then we had the agetashi tofu which is deep fried tofu drenched in teriyaki sauce. Tasted amazing! Our mains were spider rolls, steak bento box and chicken udon e stir fry. The dishes were all so flavourful and the steak was so tender my kids loved it. All in all an amazing restaurant! The prices were a bit high but that seems to be the case in Burlington for ethnic food. But for the price at least the food was excellent. Well worth it! I took a chance on this restaurant and will be my go to Japanese restaurant going forward. read more

Started working in the area and was looking around for good soup noodles on a cold day. Stumbled upon my old review and decided to give Kudo Sushi a shot at lunch. Getting here at 12:05PM you can tell the place was going to be filled (and it was half an hour later at 12:35PM when I was leaving). The waitress was so friendly and seated me right away. She comes back rather quick, like right after she's filled tea for you, to take your order. I got the L-13: Crunch combo with spicy crunchy salmon roll and spicy crunchy tuna roll. - The spice was real on this as most sushi places only add a dab of Sriracha but Kudo definitely adds more than a dab. - I would not get this again as the roll was mostly tempura bits, tempura bits mixed with the spicy mayo, and only very minimal amount of actual fish. I also go the beef udon: YUM!!! - This comes with the sirloin beef that usually comes with teriyaki rice and it was grilled as such! - The soup was delicious and savoury. MMMMMM!!! - I wish they had a bit more noodles but I am crazy over carbs so... Definitely will be back when I'm treating myself. But maybe steering clear of the rolls and just getting my udon instead. read more

We ordered take out (5% off with cash payment over $20), roll combo for $18.95 and beef teriyaki roll $5.95 was not worth it. *see picture* Rolls were poorly made as most the rolls were missing rice, and ingredients were falling out! Tried this place due to the proximity to my house. It was not good at all. The rolls were made very sloppy and were falling apart. The fish inside was minced up almost like a gel which was gross, and they put BBQ eel sauce on everything which I'm not a fan of. To be honest they put a lot of sauces and stuff on a few of their rolls that I've tried which really took away the taste of the fish, which is kinda worrisome since it could be masking the fishy smell if the fish is bad. I also tried the wonton soup which had eel in it as well, which was kinda weird. Try if you must, but if you want good sushi, make the drive to Spoon and Fork or August 8. read more

In and out in 40 minutes! Fast, friendly, experienced service. Casual yet elegant ambiance with tasteful decor and 80s easy listening. We got the medium dinner for 2 which was basically 30 pieces of sushi on a bridge. Not bad, but too much of the same thing. Comes with 2 waters or pop, edamame, 2 miso soups, 2 salads. We ordered a gyoza dish on the side which had a lot of gyoza but it was average. They didn't charge us for tea. Great for families with young kids. Tucked off the highway, Kudo doesn't necessarily look like it's going to wow you with an unforgettable culinary experience. What it will give you, however, is efficient and sometimes hilariously quick service, sushi that consistently hovers around 8.5/10, and a surprisingly intimate atmosphere. Some go-to rolls for me: The spicy tuna roll has such a quality kick to it and the volcano roll verges on epic for the good ol' tastebuds. I generally order one of those every time. Just enjoyed a shiitake mushroom roll for the vegans out there and it was solid too! Their salmon sashimi is also so, so fresh. Some critiques: The wonton soup is the one thing I've had here that I couldn't finish. Just did not go down well. The ambience here isn't 5 star worthy but it does exceeds expectations for a quick & casual sushi spot which is what the price points reflect anyway. read more

I am giving them 5 stars because on my first visit they exceeded expectations. We reserved for two, they held a large table, nice spot for us. The decor is very nice and it was quiet in there, they played goldie oldies, I am always good with that! The menu has a vegetarian section, always appreciated. We got the veggie sushi pizza and the veggie crunch rolls. Holy smokes! I try veggie sushi pizza every sushi place I go and drum roll please.... kudo is officially now in first place! They TOP that pizza like no one's business! Avocado, asparagus, radish, pickled something or other red cabbage, black olives, tempura bits and A TON of spicy mayo (forgot to mention it's spicy sushi pizza). Every mouthful was sooooo good. The crunchy rolls were avocado, yam tempura, rice and perfect! They delivered on the crunch. The sushi here was good and fresh, with generous portions of fish in the rolls. They have a good assortment of specialty rolls and I like that you can order them in half portions (so that you can try out more rolls at once!). The service was good, although not as friendly as Ichiban, where I'm always greeted by a chorus of "hello"s from the staff. read more

We have only ever had take out from here. The sushi rolls are fresh and tasty, and the price can't be beat. We LOVE our sushi, and have been on the hunt for a reasonably priced sushi place that also offers good quality rolls WITH good flavour!!. Surprisingly, it's hard to find. When we tried this place the first time, we knew we would keep coming back. Delicious! My only negative comment, and it's not really negative, but we find the sashimi is cut very thick and the pieces are very large. It makes it difficult to eat as you have to chew through it, but when we get them home, we just cut them in half and we are good to go :-) read more

Pleasantly surprised by this sushi joint. I ordered their dynamite roll and sushi combo at lunch. The service was friendly, the food arrived fast. The sushi tasted fresh, and the dynamite roll was filled with freshly cooked tempura, which is better than many restaurants that clearly precook their tempura to save time. The only downside to this restaurant is the "washroom smell" when entering, I think because the washrooms are right by the front door. It was a bit unappetizing. First time here. I'll be working across the road from this place so let's see if they earn my business. I walk in. Takes about 5 min for anyone to approach me to take my order. I've ordered the sashimi lunch special to take out. There is a table available to sit and wait. There is free wifi (although it is hard to see if it is offered by this restaurant) but it works. Another 15 min wait for food to be ready. Of the 8 sashimi, 5 were salmon, with only one each of white tuna, BC tuna and snapper. Quality was more than appropriate. California roll was tiny and disappointing. Tempura was ok, while miso soup and side salad were nothing special. $15 with tax. Kind of ho-hum really. I will likely try the place again, maybe have a sit-down instead of takeout. read more

We bought shrimp tempura, wonton soup and mito soup. Except Mito soup we couldn't eat any of them. Shrimp was so greasy and had very strong smell. I drunk wonton soup in different places and I like it, but this had a different taste and I could not eat it. read more

I've been here a few times, and keep reminding myself to post a review. This is really Burlington's best sushi gem, Kudo has never disappointed me. I am really weary of "all-you-can-eat" sushi restaurants (there are many in Burlington) because the quality is never that great. Here at Kudo, however, the food was all very fresh. I've lived in NYC for the past 4 years and I love good sushi, but I'm not about to pay an arm and a leg either and this restaurant is very reasonably priced. The portions are large, fresh and flavorful. I've brought friends here and they have also enjoyed the food. I've also picked up takeout and they are so friendly and prompt with my order! Good sushi but I've had better. I've only done take out in this place, usually on a Friday lunch. Miso soup is below par and the seaweed tasted very ill like it was marinated in sake or rubbing alchohol. Maybe I had a bad batch. Since I've done take out so far, I can't comment on the service. We love going to this place, food is amazing really tasty and well setup on the plate. Fish is great and fresh, portions are great. I like the kissme role it has a nice flavour contrast with the melted cream cheese. Only thing is its a bit pricey $$$. Staff are also amazing. read more
