    Chicken Teriyaki Bowl

I've been waiting to try this place since it opened up a few months ago. My wife ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl with noodles and veggies. She said that she liked it but that the sauce was a bit sweet. She did love her egg roll as well. As for me, I got the spicy chicken teriyaki. Now I have to say the spice level surprised me, but I loved it. The chicken was very tender and great chew. The potstickers were good but a bit soggy although I can't complain since I ordered delivery. Overall, it's a good place but I'll try other things before I up my stars.

This is newly opened restaurant in Elizabeth, NJ. - I ordered the steak teriyaki bowl. Good portion size. -The teriyaki sauce was too salty. - I think they should perfect this sauce as I've had better teriyaki at a shopping mall. - Staff was very friendly. -They did a great job with the decor, very modern. - There was plenty of parking options as it is in a small shopping mall with its own parking lot.

It was about 25 minutes away from where we were but the great experience here made our drive worth. The place is very homey with a wonderful staff. Service is impeccable. The owners are very friendly and has great customer relations skills. The foods are excellent. We had the pleasure of trying their bangus sisig, pork bbq and caldereta. The tastes exceeded our expectations. We learned that their chef hailed from Luzon so the degree of cooking style satisfied our taste buds. The calamansi drink I had was fabulous. Honestly, the best I had so far. Our halo/halo dessert was heavenly. Satisfied our sweet tooth. The serving size is in huge portion. Each order is shareable by around 2-3 people. Pricing is higher in comparison to other place but proportioned to the serving size. I have one star less for my review for two reasons- 1.The check includes a service charge that confused us if a gratuity should be given or not. We need to Google first for right information. We ended up adding gratuity for their hospitality . 2. Looking for parking spot is challenging. We ended up downloading the town's parking mobile app to get parked closer. We are willing to return if ever we are near the area.

Spring rolls 5/5 what a huge plate! Crispy and delicious. Bulalo soup 5/5 really hit the spot. Piping hot and could feed all 4 of us as a side or 2 people as a dish. Beef noodle soup (5/5) (had a bit of sweetness in case folks aren't into that) it was incredible tasty, ample meat and veggies and packed with flavor. My girls shared this and still had leftovers. Kare kare oxtail (5/5) anther awesome dish, heavy peanut flavor, loads of veggies (love!) and definitely had leftovers Would absolutely come back and highly recommend. Simple and hospitable space for small and large parties, would suggest making a reservation.

Normally, I'm not a big fan of steamed dumplings, so I was a little disappointed at first. However, the flavor was excellent and definitely exceeded my expectations, so I can't complain too much about the mix-up. The real star of the meal was the Yellow Curry Crispy Duck. Absolutely amazing! The duck was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the curry had incredible flavor. I ordered it with spice level 1, which was just right for me and allowed all of the flavors to shine through. My only real complaint is the portioning of the rice. While the half crispy duck portion was quite generous, the amount of rice provided didn't seem to match the amount of meat. For the price I paid, I feel like the rice portion should automatically be adjusted to complement the entrée. Having to request extra rice just doesn't make much sense when there's plenty of duck left over. I'm usually not picky about things like this, but considering the cost of the meal, I expected a little better balance. Other than that, the staff was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself is a small hole-in-the-wall spot with a cozy, authentic feel. It's the kind of place that locals seem to know and enjoy. I actually discovered it while heading to a Mexican restaurant with some coworkers and decided to give it a try because I'm a big fan of Thai food. Overall, I'm glad I did. The food quality was excellent, the flavors felt authentic, and the crispy duck alone is worth coming back for. Despite a couple of minor issues, I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. If you enjoy authentic Thai cuisine, you'll likely leave satisfied. Authentic taste and quality ingredients--everyone should give it a try!

The main entrance is next to the kitchen, which is designed for food delivery and takeout operations. The L-shaped dining room wraps around the kitchen and offers an impressive amount of seating for 80 people with ample natural lighting. The interior decor follows the same rigid industrial wood and metal aesthetic that almost every new hipstery restaurant chain has subscribed to for the past decade. In case you've forgotten that ramen is Japanese, you'll also see neon signs on the walls illuminating some common Japanese phrases (although without furigana). Two gendered restrooms are located left of the kitchen in the far corner of the building and each have two stalls and one sink. I ordered the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen with a side of Chili Charred Brussels for takeout. I placed the order 30 minutes in advance and it was ready at the scheduled pickup time. The Chili Charred Brussels were about five halved sprouts that were steamed and lightly sauteed with a light sprinkling of mustard greens and pepper flakes. I actually enjoyed these more than the ramen I ordered, but they did not have much noticeable charring (or the caramelization that comes with charring). I had a very difficult time enjoying the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen, which is the first item on the ramen menu. The dry ingredients are packaged in the main serving bowl and the broth in a separate plastic takeout container for you to combine yourself. The main attraction of the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen is the three massive slabs of braised pork, which did not disappoint. I tried some of dry ingredients first before drowning them in liquid, although I could not find any bean sprouts. The noodles were slightly undercooked, possibly to compensate for the hot broth. Everything kind of went downhill after I added the shoyu broth. Although the shoyu did impart flavor to the meat and ramen, it was so overwhelmingly salty that it was completely undrinkable by itself. After finishing the noodles, I felt like I was sipping boiled dipping sauce. If chicken broth was in the mix, I certainly couldn't taste it. This is particularly concerning because half of the ramen menu contains this same shoyu tare, and will most likely be too overpowering for most people. In retrospect, I should have ordered the brothless mazemen ramen. The food preparation, while adequate, seemed a bit rushed based on what I ate. Perhaps 30 minutes was not enough lead time for the kitchen, or perhaps this is just how Ani Ramen makes its food. While I appreciate that Ani has helped make ramen more accessible in Central Jersey, it's probably not my first choice for ramen or any of the eclectic side dishes on the menu, e.g. brussels sprouts, kimchi, and gua bao (none of which are Japanese).

On this day I got the B6- which has Grilled pork, Grilled shrimp, and Egg rolls. It was just ok for me. For a variety of reasons once 2010 or so rolled around I stopped getting take out from Red Apple. Recently I wanted to grab some food for dinner so I got off my bus before my stop to grab some food. This is not a sit down restaurant. You go in and order your take out, sit on a chair to wait and then head out with your food. The place looks very much the same as it did over ten years ago but they added a Hibachi extension next door. When I look back at my older review, I really feel that I should have given it 4 stars, but Yelp ratings were a tad different back then if I recall correctly. I have to say that after all this time I am very sad to give it such a low rating now. I am very sure at this point that the owners of this place are not the same ones from years ago (at the very least the chef is different). I picked up three dishes and well...read on... SHRIMP TOAST This is a Chinese take-out classic that I remember having back in New York City from several Chinese places so I've had this dish a *lot* in my time. Usually you want it to be crispy but light with a nice chew on the inside where the shrimp paste is sandwiched between two pieces of bread. For the most part they did an okay job here but the toast was fried too long. Much of the outside ranged from black to dark brown when it should really be golden brown. The flavor was good but if it had not been overcooked it would have been better. COLD SESAME NOODLES This is one of my favorite dishes from Chinese take-out places. However, it is hard to find a place that does it *well*. Even when it is only "okay" however, it has some commonalities. Usually there are egg noodles with some type of peanut or sesame based sauce, scallion and sesame seeds. Some places also add hot sauce to give it some extra kick. What Red Apple gave me was...not this. Oddly, I"m not sure *what* they gave me. The noodles were warm, the topping was a vegetable medley with...onions? There was no sesame or peanut sauce. Really, the whole dish just tasted like a light veggie lo mein which was *bizarre* and not at all what I ordered. GENERAL TSAO'S TOFU This was one of my favorite dishes from this place so I was excited to have it again. Then I saw it and I knew something was wrong. Most General Tsao's dishes should have fried chunks of something (chicken, tofu etc.) with a thick red sauce that caramelizes around the edges. The sauce should have some sweet and savory elements (and ideally a tad of spice via peppers). What I got? Was...not that. The tofu chunks were in a runny, thin sauce that tasted *terrible*. It just tasted like sugary sauce with a pile of salt on it. It was so terrible I wound up eating a few bites and tossing the rest. I'm so sad to be writing this review. I really had hoped this update would be a 4* celebration of a place I used to go to but I think I'll be staying away for a while.
