Wanted to stop in for a late lunch Saturday. Place was empty, once food was order it took 20 mins to receive- only 3 of us there. My order was not correct I ordered fried rice and received white rice. I mentioned it to the young girl who took our order and brought it to our table. She apologized and went to inform the kitchen. 10 mins later she came to our table and said "there's an issue with the kitchen and the manager said you have to pay for the fried rice if you want it" crazy because it's what I ordered and the girl admitted she typed it in the computer incorrectly. 1st time here. We each got the Jr Chicken Teriyaki Bowl during the Saturday Market and it was so very good! The grilled meat was moist and tender not to mention the decent portion size, the brown rice was done perfectly, not mushy but flaky and the veg was all steamed exactly like I would have hoped. Was with a friend visiting from up north and we both really enjoyed our meals. We'll definitely be back and will be bringing friends with us. I grew up on the west coast and used to love teriyaki madness. I've been to this location before but apparently when the owner isn't around, the employees don't really care about the quality of the food or the orders. Mine was missing my egg roll to start. My bowl had about half a chicken breast on it and it was so overcooked and dry I ended up throwing it out. The girl at the register was very nice but I think she was new. I got in to order today, sad that it took me 5 years since its opening. I had an okay first experience, ordering their orange chicken, highly advertised right now. After I ordered, I discovered the choice was breaded or grilled and would've chose grilled. Oddly the grilled was higher calories than the breaded/fried. I was trying to digest the options of my purchase, choosing white rice (brown & noodles also offered) and choosing veggies, thinking they'd be stir-fried. Once home, they were raw cabbage & cukes. Tasted fine but wouldn't choose again. I was disappointed that the "heat" in the dish tasted like Tabasco sauce (or Franks or Louisiana Kitchen?) It outflavored the orange/citrus flavor. I chose the "junior" size which was just my size, but still $12. I'll continue to review the menu and try again if in the area, but didn't find anything really calling me to return. My teens picked fried rice with chicken and noodles with chicken... they both said it was just ok, they would prefer mall Chinese food instead. Yum!! My friend and I stopped in last night about 7:30pm after seeing First Fri had more desserts. The cashier was very sweet and made ordering easy. We grabbed a table after being told someone would bring our food out. How convenient! It was nice to not try to listen to your number being called or have to stand around waiting. The guy that brought our food out was also friendly, and even checked on everyone dining. And the food!! So good. I had a chicken breast teriyaki bowl and it came with an eggroll and I ended up eating my leftovers in bed at about 1 am. I wished I had ordered more. They have multiple make your own bowl options, with something for everyone. One unique thing you can make anything yakisoba style, which is with noodles, veggies and choice of protein. I ordered a regular size of the spicy tofu (yakisoba style of course) and it was fully of flavor, and super fresh-- literally straight out of the wok. The tofu has a nice crisp on the outside while very warm inside, and it even came with a side of sauces. Service is great and staff is kind. I love the food but honestly the service in the restaurant was terrible, I waited 25 mins in the restaurant for two bowls, while I watched the only two patrons in the restaurant leave with their food within 10 mins. And numerous to go and delivery orders walk out the front door. If a patron is willing to come to your establishment, please allow them the courtesy for prompt service. I've also ordered online for delivery. Apparently "Free delivery" on Tuesdays isn't set in stone. Store couldn't help with it. I made 4 different orders, even removed my "free bowl" offer, considering most places won't combine offers. Still a delivery charge. But here's the thing. When you advertise something, with no exclusions, (see photo) the offer should be accepted. Calling the store wasn't helpful and I got so aggravated I wasn't hungry anymore. Also, I have to wait 5-7 business days for the refund of the original order that didn't prompt delivery, even though I selected delivery and input my address. So my guess is they don't have the availability to provide the service they are offering. Again. Love the food. Just won't be going back for quite a while. read more
