For years I have been coming here on and off to get their ham fried rice! Stuff is amazing and typically we get at least two meals out of a single order. Sweet and Sour chicken is also very tasty. I can not think of a single dish I was ever disappointed in. Don't think I want to eat in, it's more of a "To Go" kinda place. Just a simple style for seating, but you could eat in if you wanted to. Tried this place for the first time based on a recommendation from a friend. Excellent choice! Great service. Got the hot combo gravy with fried rice, sweet & sour chicken and wings. Both mild and hot. Very large portions and excellent taste. Will be back again. As for the hot dishes, I like spicy food and could have gone a level spicier. If you're a spicy person, tell them to kick it up a notch for you. read more

Kind of a mixed bag for me. I was glad to see that they are still taking cash. But, I don't understand their resistance to diversifying to debit card transactions. They would get their money instantly, and they could easily verify identity. Now, as for the food. It's still very good. But, lately it seems that there must be a new chef, because the food tastes [way] different. It's still good. But, it seems to be missing the garlic POW and other spices that were what drew me back in with ease. Now, it's a little more involved decision. I still give it 4 stars, and I will be back. I have been coming to your restaurant for 30 years. I absolutely love the food as well as the people who work there! Last night I ordered my same order as always 20 piece teriyaki chicken wings with an order of beef, broccoli and beef fried rice. Normally the beef broccoli comes with all sorts of vegetables, carrots and onions, as well as broccoli last night it was literally beef and broccoli, it was terrible. My wings had next to no sauce on them. I have never experienced this level of service from your restaurant ever. It was very close to closing time and I do understand that but I also feel like for the price I should get what I paid for aside from that I have never had a bad experience with your restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised with Teriyaki Wok. They have large portion sizes for a good price. You could split a dish between two people. The food has a lot of flavor (it's not spicy, but it's not bland) and is cooked fresh. One thing to note is that they do not take cards- cash only. read more

I waited for 30 minutes on (2) 8-piece wing baskets on a Saturday late afternoon, about 5 pm. I did not call in beforehand. People were coming in the door ordering and leaving with their food before me. A gentleman had clearly been sitting for a long time waiting for his food when I came in the door. He was there at least 15 minutes while I was waiting. He left with a single container of food. Another lady came in and ordered a wing basket. We both sat for about 20 minutes. We joked after our food came up at the same time (despite me being there for 10 minutes before she arrived, that it would be faster to cook it ourselves than wait on them). The fact that they don't take debit cards and pay their employees under the table speaks to the GREED of the owner. What kind of food place doesn't take cards these days? I mean, even food trucks and vendors at pop-up festivals take cards. I will *never* come back to this restaurant. Maybe this is great service for little old Sumter County, but in Columbia, these folks would be out of damn business with a quickness. American Chinese House on Garners Ferry Rd in Columbia is delicious and fast if you like teriyaki wings! I think I'll grab my wing basket from there the next time I go visit family in Sumter on the weekend, instead of going to Teriyaki Wok. If you don't call it in ahead of time, expect a ridiculous wait. They clearly give precedence to call-in orders over walk-in customers, when the food SHOULD be handled and prepared in order of order received. Don't go there on the weekend if you have limited time! The excuse given for the wait was, "they are cooking more rice." Lol for a Chinese place to run out of cooked rice to fry on a weekend speaks to POOR planning...what a crock of crap. P.S. China Kitchen on Forest Drive at the Two Notch Rd. intersection beside Providence Hospital in Columbia also has flavorful and FAST American Chinese. Prices are great too, especially for lunch specials, and most entrees include an egg roll for on average $5.50, pre-tax total. Teriyaki Wok's service is just WACK. The wings were ok, but after the wait I could have sat down at Outback and gotten my food in the same amount of time. I am a fan of this restaurant. Their egg rolls are usually good. The other day I ordered 3 egg rolls. I asked if the were cooked when ordered and I was told yes. I wanted hot eggs rolls not cold ones. I picked up my order and they were not hot and they tasted terrible. No seasoning. No garlic or onion or pork. Just unseasoned cabbage and carrots. I was SO DISAPPOINTED ‼ It's the first time I had to add salt to eat an egg roll. I guess I'll be going to China Chef for my egg rolls from now on. read more

WORK ON YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE This is the second time in a year that I have had terrible service. The first time I ordered a young lady took my order. We were leaving one of my children's games and I had a car full of hungry boys. I ordered 5 wing baskets. The young lady said "cash or check ONLY"... OK FINE! I came in for the total because just like tonight, they hang up without offering a total... No big deal I can add... I get there and write the check in front of her after she gives me the total then engages in conversation with a friend. I hand her the check and she gives it back and tells me "oh we don't take out of state checks, you can go across the street to that gas station and use the ATM". There was NO sign posted saying that. At the end of the day it wasn't what she said it was HOW she said it! I told her I was military and my address matched my drivers license! I offered to put my local address as "other professional businesses would as". So I refused the food and left. I can handle a lot but when your customer service is accompanied with an "oh well" attitude I can't deal! TONIGHT I placed and order of 2 meals and 1 appetizer under my 15 1/2 yr old son's name. He got there, gave them his name and repeated the order... When he gets the bags home I untie them and they left off his order and gave us 3 meals (2 of which we did not order) and our appetizer. When he handed me 2 receipts I called to speak to a manager. I asked to speak to a manager as she was telling me they were closing. This particular lady said she was the manager. After I explained what should had happened versus what happened. She immediately found our order, then said there was nothing she could do. There was NO voice of concern, disappointment, apology or ANYTHING. I was not looking for a free full course meal but an APOLOGY or a small compensation on the next meal would had been nice. Heck those crab angels are like $3.50, you could see we ordered those... how hard would that be. BUT because they are one of few Asian like restaurants that does have tasty foods, I guess good customer service isn't needed, because this is a small town and there isn't much competition. I'll stick with the Thai restaurants here... The description on the right says they accept credit cards. THEY DO NOT have updated technology in their establishment and you MUST pay with a LOCAL check since they don't have a register that can run the validity of the check. read more

Called in an order at 5pm on a Friday and was told that the order would be ready for pickup in 15 minutes. I got there at the 15 minute point and the place was busy with people picking up, so I knew I'd probably have to wait at least another 5 to 10 minutes, was I ever wrong in that assumption. After 10 minutes (25 from the call in) of waiting I asked one of the young girls about how much longer it would be and she rudely replied that it wasn't ready yet and they would bring it out when it was, to which I asked why they gave a 15 min. pickup time if they we're busy and knew it would take longer. She replied that that was what they always told people and that was the way it was. This young girl was cocky and rude to the point that I felt like canceling the order but having already paid for it , I don't believe they would have refunded me the money. I wound up waiting about 30 minutes, 45 total, to get my order and wasn't the only one who commented about the wait time. By the time I got my order I was mad about the rudeness of the young girl, who by the way had had another person bring her some food which she was eating behind the counter, and her comment that it wasn't her business so she didn't care how long it took. Needless to say I will not be going back there as the food isn't any better than the other Asian fast food takeout places around town, and I refuse to be served by a young rude idiot who doesn't know or care about customer service. Hope the owners pay attention to the comments that get posted about their business and fix the problems, but it won't do any good for me to ever go back there. read more

let me start by saying i have been a loyal customer for many years. that changed yesterday on 2/14/2017. i called ahead and placed my order as i always do and told her my name is on the list to order ahead without paying. as i leave work to go pickup my food which should be ready, i receive a phone call from them. they promptly hang up. i call them back and ask if there was some issue and i got the response that i was on the wrong list i was on the one that had cancelled orders many times. i explained it must be a mistake and i assured them that this was not the case. never did she say well come in and lets try to straighten this out just hey im sorry you are on the " bad list" . after all the money spent over the years i was just told to bad sorry. so in a matter of weeks i went from spending 70 0r 80 dollars on wings for football games and gatherings to being on the bad list. they could have just asked me to come in and i am sure they would recognize me but they chose to take the other route. i really hate this cause i really enjoyed there food and have always been treated well in the establishment. this really is a slap in the face. a customer should never be treated that way especially when the establishment is at fault. read more
