I love this place. The service is always fast and the food is always hot. It's a little restaurant that has like 3-4 tables but they pack out a bunch of food. My favorite thing to get is the boneless spareribs or the general tso chicken, I always get the pork friend rice. The prices are reasonable as well. This is a 4 star for Sumter in comparison to others which are less we've tried. By far this is no Peking Duck if you've been in DC, some of the "eureka" comments IMO are a tad exaggerated. The food for take out isn't bad. Fried rice, it's fried rice. Nothing super special. Had it with and without chicken. It is white meat they put in so a plus. White rice, it's white rice, a staple, can't screw that up. The boneless spare ribs in the appetizer section isn't bad. Not my favorite but the small portion is a lot and prob 2 cups worth of meat. Loméin we've had with chicken and pork. Not bad, nothing to rave about. Fried pork dumplings not bad either and a healthy portion. Our second time here for take out. In Sumter, probably your better option than other similar offerings but will not "wow" you if you've had better, more authentic in larger cities. read more

We are already thrilled that we found this place. It's a nice reminder of our previous favorite in Billerica, MA (Joy Luck Bistro) which closed. :( So, we really are overjoyed with this find. As others have commented, the location is small. Definitely meant for an order and pick-up location, but there ARE 4 small tables that you can use if you'd rather eat in. I got the bonless spare rib dinner combo with the pork fried rice. Looking back, should have went with the white rice. While the pork fried rice was good, it wasn't amazing... and with the favors from the ribs, I think it would have worked better with white rice. The ribs were really good. A candy type sauce and flavor, sweet enough to be delicious, but not so much that it distracts from the meat, or overwhelms the taste buds. We enjoyed it, and plan to make it a regular stop. Food Wise: I loved it! I got the hot and sour soup, hot and spicy beef, and an egg roll. First, the egg roll was great! So many places in larger cities are trying to pass off fried spring rolls for egg rolls,but not here. It was flavorful, crispy, and as mentioned had the right wrapper, in my opinion. Hot and Spicy Beef was great, essentially Sriracha Beef from other restaurants. A good amount of beef with fresh veggies like peppers and onions. The hot and sour soup came with fried wonton noodles. There's actually quite a handful of Chinese takeout restaurants within a 5 mile radius, but after taking a nice hot summer stroll at the lake, my tummy was rumbling, and I do what I always do: pick the nearest restaurant. My stomach, it just knows the way. *Pretends to be baffled at why her stomach is so smart.* I had the pleasure of trying the House Mai Fun, Vegetable Lo Mien, Chicken Lo Mien, and the Moo Goo Gai Pan. House Mai Fun: 3.5/5 - The noodles are the perfect texture. That's always important. - There's a slight excess of oil at the bottom of the plate, but no more than any other Chinese take-out, and far less than your average Chinese take-out. - The only thing keeping the rating low is that the flavor was a little lacking. Vegetable/Chicken Lo Mien: 3/5 - So one of the Lo Mien dishes ended up being uncomfortably saltier than the other, which bares a possible lack of consistency between plates. - The noodles were just your average run of the mill soft noodles. - The chicken was nice and tender, but slightly lacking in volume. I've seen Chinese take-out pack your plate with a nice meat to noodle ratio, but that would not be this restaurant. Moo Goo Gai Pan: 4.5/5 - Let's remember that I'm rating take-out food, and in take-out land, this baby is a winner. - There was just enough flavor that it kept me wanting to grab more. - It's also a very healthy option, with plenty of veggies, and it's not fried. - I highly recommend this. Service: 5/5 - The service is exceptional. You can tell the restaurant is family owned as there is a very friendly atmosphere (I was greeted with a smile from the female boss). - They gave us extra fortune cookies upon request. Yes, it is a big deal. I love this not-of-Chinese-origin cookie. - They give huge cups of water that didn't taste like it was straight out of the tap. I would even go as far as to say the water is filtered (Brita, maybe?). They're a take-out place, but they've got 4 tables of 4 seats, so you can have a party of up to 16 eat here. So overall, I'd say this place is a solid 4 stars for your run of the mill Chinese take-out restaurants. My Singapore noodle had the right amount of curry and fat meat,and vegetables. General Tso was not the typical ball of bread and hard chicken but better yet a perfect blend of soft chicken breading and sauce. Also had the chicken lo mein, small size and it was more than enough for one person. Spring rolls were good, not greasy at all. Great little spot for Chinese food done right! I don't know that I would go there and eat in, I'd probably just get it to go, but there is a couple tables to sit at. Staff is friendly and the food was ready fast!
