I hired TERMINIX in July 2023 to do an exclusion job around my house parameter and it was not completed. Waukesha manager claimed he came to check the job on August 1st 2023, after I complained about work not completed, and he stated he came to house, I was home and never knew, stating the job was finished. After several calls to TERMINIX and complaints. They came 8 months later to "FINISH" the original job I paid $4700 dollars for. Then when I asked for my Prepaid annual renewal fee back of $180, the Waukesha manager stated only if I cancel my service date of April 11, 2024. When that was for the work that was NEVER completed. Why would I want service for an additional year with the lack of service I received?? AND if still under the first year contract!! Manager was untruthful and argumentative when I asked Contact 6 to reach out to TERMINIX. Poor service, no follow through, and poor communication on TERMINIX as a company. Tenants BEWARE! Terminix technicians can be used to spy on you and report personal information they find in your habitation to the landlord and OTHER TENANTS! That is what happened to me. Terminix was suppose to just provide a quote for services. Instead, they came in to search for personal information another tenant of the building was demanding and then reported that information to them! I feel violated! I tried to file a complaint, but they don't accept complaints! No values, no responsibility, no accountability. Find a different company! read more

After months of a suspected issue but no proof we finally found a single bed bug to confirm we had a small infestation. We called Terminix first for a free inspection but their performance was lackluster. Their guy checked our bedroom and mentioned to me that there were holes in the mattress cover which could be giving the bed bugs somewhere to hide, but he didn't even bother to take the mattress cover off and inspect the surface of my mattress. ??? He never pinpointed the source of the problem and quoted me $800 for a treatment anyway. We called Affordable Bed Bug Exterminators instead and they did an amazing job for less than half the price. read more

I rarely say anything negative, but I am very upset with Terminix. I knew I had feral cats in my basement, but the technician insisted it was rats. I took a photo of the footprints, turns out it was a squirrel and cats. I was also told I __HAD__to take a year's contract. I can't recommend Terminix as I feel I was not listened to and was told it would cost hundreds of dollars to live trap animals. I think I was scammed and lied to about what was in my basement. We signed a one year contract for bait treatment as we had a vole problem. The representative told us that the cost on the paperwork for the bait stations was on there as we purchased the stations. We asked what happens when we decide not to renew. He stated that the stations are ours and the tech would just remove the bait. We were like fine. Well fast forward to February 2023, it was time to renew. The cost went up significantly so we did not renew. Called within 30 days of our renewal time and explained why. Following week tech shows up to take the traps. We stated hey we paid for those. He says he had a work order to collect them. We explained in detail how the sales representative sold the contract. The tech goes to truck after emptying the traps. Thought we were done. He snuck back up our driveway took the traps and did not even have the decency to face us. Called the office(what I thought was local). Turns out out just a help-desk. Filed a complaint. Next day we get a text no phone call nothing just a text saying traps were leased and it was against state law for us to own them. Then why did you charge us up front for them but in our monthly statements it just has service cost for checking and baiting the traps. No mention of a lease charge. Worst company I ever dealt with. Can't even talk to you or face you. As the saying goes buyer beware. Lesson well learned the hard way. read more

I called to set up pest control services in a Wednesday and was asked when did I want service to start. Admittedly, was my response. Sales person quickly took my credit card number and scheduled appointment same day. Get another call person said he could be at my home an hour before start time. So far so good. Person comes and now talking about an inspection. Understandable! Tour of inside and outside. Person says I will email the results of inspection. Why did I get an email recommended installation for ($2000). I want pest control services not installation. Wth!! Needless to say he could not say when the next appointment would be. I call back couple days later along what day would pest control services begin. No one could tell me when services could begin saying that a manager would call me... call again couple days later same story. Oh wait call sales rep, who apologized for his children being loud in background before being hung up on. COVID has nothing to do with this mess of customer service and lack of follow through. I canceled after waiting on line for over an hour. Do better!!! I only rated this a 1 because out of the 4 people I spoke with only one sales rep was friendly. LONG POST BUT DEFINITELY WORTH THE READ IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING TERMINIX! Service did not work and ended up with my dogs getting skin infections from their "pet safe" product... My dog got fleas, treated both dogs and both cats to rid of them. Then was still seeing fleas in my home (must have had eggs laid somewhere but was not like a crazy infestation, just an annoyance that I could not get rid of), so I called Terminix to come treat my home. Tech came on a Tuesday morning so I took off work to meet. Had to get all 4 animals, newborn and ourselves out of the house for the 3 hours time frame the tech said it takes to dry. He said once dry, it is pet and kid safe. Tech treated 2 floors of my home and exterior in about 15 minutes. Came home 4 hours later and everything was dry. That night and the following morning I was still seeing live fleas. I also woke up to new bites on myself. Called and the tech came back again Thursday (2 days later), had to take off work again (because their initial service did not work), get everyone out of the house. The tech only treated our 1st floor this time so he said we could keep our cats in the house on the 2nd floor. This time he spent roughly 25 mins inside treating the first floor. He told us to wait the 3 hours again, we waited 4. Came back and the house smelled so bad that my throat itched and everything was visibly soaked. All windows were open and fans were on. Our beds, couch, baseboards, floors, everything was soaked. Had to leave the dogs outside for the night and slept in the car with our baby. Came back in the house the next morning (18 hours after the service was done) to find the entire house still visibly soaked and our beds and couch wet to the touch. I had to go around and dry everything myself before letting the dogs in. And guess what.. still found live fleas that night. About 2 days after this second service, our dogs began scratching uncontrollably. We checked them very thoroughly multiple times per day to look for more fleas and they had absolutely none at all (we were experts at this point for checking for fleas, because we had been doing so for weeks). After the scratching had been going on for about a week, all day and all night, then one of the dogs developed an entire body rash, stopped eating and drinking, and was not acting right. And the other dogs continued to scratch aggressively and slowly stopped wanting to eat. Took to the vet to find out they have secondary skin infections now. The vet is positive it is from Terminix's "pet safe" treatment. Since the spray never actually dried in our house because the tech obnoxiously soaked everything, I am assuming it was not considered "pet safe" anymore. So why did this tech, WHO ALLOWED MY 2 CATS TO STAY IN THE HOUSE and KNEW WE HAD 2 DOGS AND A BABY TO BRING BACK INTO THE HOUSE, spray sooo excessively to the point that the product never dried...? He is the one that said it was pet safe once dried, and he had to have know that with the amount he sprayed, it would never dry. I mopped, vacuumed and washed everything to try to get the spray off. But now I am $100's of dollars into vet bills and medications to treat the infections caused by the treatment. And my dogs are absolutely miserable. They will not eat. I have to make special foods for them to be able to keep their antibiotics down. And now I am worried about the health of my cats who were in the house during the time everything was being treated. And to top it off... TERMINIX WILL NOT REFUND ME FOR THE SERVICE THAT FAILED AND CAUSED MY DOGS TO GET INFECTIONS! Because "the service was performed already and I did not fulfill my 1 year contract." Like why would I want to continue my service contract and have my house treated more after this?... I have called them 5 times in the last 2 weeks and just keep being told someone will call me in 24-48 hours, but no one will call me back. TERMINIX IS A JOKE AND I WILL CONTINUE TO POST THESE BAD REVIEWS UNTIL I GET MY REFUND. read more

I recently had my first complaint and the service manager - Chuck Semrad - who others have mentioned- had no idea how to treat a loyal customer. He was defensive and rude. I cancelled my contract. I had called the service line the night before and got a really nice lady who was clearly trained on how to handle complaints- Semrad had no clue - he should not be a supervisor- he should be fired. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. Called earlier in the week to reschedule an appointment because no adult would be here. Needed them to come inside. So rescheduled for May 18. THEY STILL CAME! Even after confirmation. They do not provide any confirmation numbers or emails. The customer service people are people from overseas, hard to understand, and they do not understand us. If I could give zero stars, I would. It's been nothing but a headache with this company!! I originally called for services and set an appointment. I needed to reschedule, so I called them to reschedule, the woman I spoke to told me I had to have an inspection first and she didn't know why I was able to schedule a start of service. So, ok, I schedule an inspection. The time was supposed to be from 10-12 so I waited and waited. Come 12 o'clock, no phone call, no technician and I needed to get to an appointment by 1 so I called them to reschedule again. Rescheduled for another day and on that day, I waited and waited all day and when no one comes, I call them again. Well, it appears that there was no appointment set for that day even though the rep I spoke to confirmed the date. Fine, I'll schedule another appointment. Scheduled another appointment for Monday, Sept. 29th and had my son and my brother's girlfriend wait ALL day at home. I called in the morning to confirm that I did have an appointment set and they said I did. I waited again. Still no one showed up. I called at least 5 times to find out what was going on and why the technician wasn't here yet. Each time, the rep tells me they tried calling the technician and they don't know why he isn't answering the phone. After the third call, I'm told a supervisor will call me back. Still I sit and wait. No phone call from a supervisor so I call back. I speak to someone that says they'll email the supervisor. After a couple hours, I get a call back, which by this point, I'm actually surprised. It wasn't the supervisor. It was the last rep I called and she was calling me back to see if the supervisor had called and to let me know that the supervisor contacted the technician and technician supposedly said he came to the house and left a note on the door and tried to call me. Uhh... no you didn't. There were people home all day and I had my phone with me all day. So rep says she'll pass the message on to the supervisor. I wait and wait again to hear from someone. I wait all day Tuesday to see if someone was going to call and not surprisingly, no one calls. So today, (Wednesday), I call and speak to a rep that tells me that I have an appt scheduled for Oct 3., which I didn't know about. How are you gonna schedule an appointment for me without notifying me? I've scheduled again for the 13th but we'll see how that goes!!! I'm starting to think Terminix doesn't want my business. It's fine though... I can always go somewhere else! Since I'm forced to give one star, I'll give the one star to the only rep who was thoughtful enough to call me back to follow up. read more

Poor communication skills. Poor ability to schedule. Poor / scheeming use of contracts. We hired them to get rid of mice. Part of this contract involved removing and replacing ALL contaminated insulation in attic and basement. However, when the tech's came (one worked inside - he was super lazy and kept trying to get the other guy to leave, the other worked outside: this guy (Dennis) is a hard worker and was the tech to return for follow up visits. Dennis was great, and always worked his hardest. Giving kudos where they are deserved) they discovered we have Vermiculite /asbestos type insulation underneath the "newer" type, and gave a super dinky discount (10%) to compensate that now I have a contract signed with them that doesn't include 1/3 of my home, but that 1/3 of my home includes probably 80% of the insulation they said they'd replace, which was quite frankly a selling piece. The salesman NEVER brought up the topic of asbestos, and when I called him back on his cell phone number on his business card (because that 1-800-blah blah number to the call center is a NIGHTMARE that makes it impossible to get anything done unless you're giving them money, of course), he negated my concerns telling me they "didn't sound right" when I complained about the one lazy technician, and then told me he'd call me back but never did. For three weeks. It took me 6 weeks and about as many phone calls that I documented each time for reference to make any headway in this amorphous corporate blob before I got a hold of someone who listened. My goal was initially to (1.) clearly understand what this contract would / would not or could / could not do to service the mice I could clearly hear scuttling in my attic since the salesman was negligent in bringing this up as a limitation to the contract, and then (2.) to have the service contract extended to compensate for the attic limitation or to have the price of the contract discounted by 30% to compensate for the third of the house they could not treat. This was all written up in a report that was "escalated" up the chain of command to the Servce Manager of the local branch for the salesman who sold us the contract. When I did n't hear back from anyone after 8 days, I called "the blob" again, and the poor gal who had only been working there for three days told me the report can been resolved and closed - hubbawhat???? No one called me or told me anything?!?!? Quite the "resolution", yet? Turns out, Chuck closed my ticket... The Service Manager (Chuck) had very poor phone manners - he spoke to me like I didn't know what I was talking about, tried to tell me that mice don't usually live in attics anyway (when the salesman showed us pictures of huge and gross mice nests IN ATTICS), told me the contract was "Iron Clad" but when I asked him to reference a copy of my contract to prove it he told me he wasn't a lawyer and that I'd need to speak to their legal department, raised his voice to me when I asked him to explain his statements further, told me the contract I paid for was only an "inside" contract even though Dennis had come to service my house twice already and had serviced both the attic and the basement (not to mention that the words "Outside Contract" were printed on the paper) - I mean, if you wanted a conversation that was a classic "Don't do This to your customers" phone call, it was the one I had with Chuck Semar. At this point I decided I just wanted to cancel the contract and get money back for the next 9 months that I ddn't want them to come back to my home. So, I was able to speak to Chuck's supervisor Adam (return phone call and solution still pending), who again tried to tell me nothing was wrong with the contract, but finally said he'd do some research to figure out a "fair and reasonable refund" for the remainder of the services I no longer wanted TERMINIX to do. He only changed his mind once I mentioned the other bad reviews for this particular branch on Yelp and Angie's list. All this came to a head just as the news was reporting on the company's use of Methyl Bromide on the house in St Thomas that landed a whole family in the hospital with paralysis Fromm use of neurotoxins and an $87 million settlement that did not include medical expenses. Needless to say, I would not recommend this branch or this company to anyone. Which is sad, because we used them at our previous home and were quite pleased. But, once bitten, twice shy - especially for mice and $1500 + dollars, and the risk of neurotoxins. read more

Told technician that I needed indoor treatment. Technician lied to boss that I threatened to leave dogs outside while I was at work. I am beyond shocked and angry. I have had a quarterly contact with Terminix for several years. Apparently there is a new technician servicing my area. He called last Wednesday to tell me he was going to do an outside treatment on Friday 3/30. I told him I needed the inside done too but would not be available on that Friday. A technician not be able to do a treatment without my being home as I my backyard is inaccessible without my unlocking the 5+ ft wooden fence that surrounds my property. (I do not leave my gate unlocked ever when I am away because if it is not closed and locked correctly it can slam closed and cause damage to the gate). I told the technician I would need to reschedule for another Friday and asked if he could reschedule. The technician said he would have to talk to his manager. After the call I logged online to the Terminix site. You can schedule online assuming there are available appointments that meet your schedule. I set an appointment for April 13 between 3-5 and created a note that I needed indoor service. Two days later I received an email that my contract was canceled. I called Terminix customer service to find out why since I didn't cancel it. The representative told me that the new technician told his boss that I threatened to leave my vicious dogs out to prevent him from doing the outside application. That never happened!!! #1 I am not that kind of person #2 my dogs are never left out while I am at work - I work 50+ hours per week. I live in WI and it is 30-35 degrees outside. When I am home my dogs spend limited time outside. They are indoor dogs, I love them and would never risk them being sprayed or injured by that Terminix technician. This technician lied and put my reputation at stake. I WAS a customer of several years and had been happy with previous technicians. I have called and written complaints to Terminix and have received no response. Branch manager called and was rude and hung up on me. Called and escalated further. Negligent and rude. I hired Terminix to seal and re-insulate my basement this fall for about $1400. This is our 8th year in this home, and we have never had a problem with freezing pipes until we let Terminix into our house. The first Monday morning of the new year, my kids and husband could not take showers because we had no water on the 2nd floor. I called a plumber, who showed me one section of the basement outside wall that was completely missing insulation and even had an unsealed small crack in the wall. The plumber told me how lucky I was that the pipe had not burst. He used a heat gun to unfreeze the pipe, and we stuffed a fleece blanket into the 1-foot wide section of wall without insulation. I paid my plumber $167. Terminix came the next day. The service man sealed the crack and installed insulation. I requested Terminix pay for the plumber since their negligence caused the problem. I did not ask for any compensation for the inconvenience they caused me. The "service" manager said it was my responsibility as a homeowner to make sure I had proper insulation. (Isn't that why I paid them over $1400???) I offered to send him a photo of the area where the Terminix had removed the existing insulation and failed to replace it. He had no interest in seeing the picture. The "service" manager would not give me his name, and hung up on me. I immediately called back 3 times and was immediately hung up on again. I called again and he just let it ring. What a coward. I have called Terminix corporate service and am awaiting resolution. Before the "service" manager hung up on me the first time, I promised him that my reviews would be posted on Yelp and Angie's list. I think I will also share this with my 1100 Facebook friends. AVOID TERMINIX. Follow up - I got a call from another person at Terminix, who explained that while he does want to resolve the situation, he does not accept responsibility. He is coming to the house to confirm that there are no more gaps in the insulation. We'll see what happens. And the name of the "Service" Manager is Chuck Semard.
