This company has been mostly non responsive to my requests to increase my service . I had an initial pest inspection and an annual inspection. The inspectors that came to our house were quite nice and seemed to do a good job. However, I could not get the office to respond at all.....email, phone message multiple times. I actually wanted to increase my contract to include monthly pest control, however, because they would not return my calls I have dropped my contract and will engage someone else to help with pest control. A company that cares so little for their customers really should not be in a business that requires customer contact. Not happy with the service at all. read more

We contracted Terminix yearly for the past 14 years. The increasing problems/issues and excuses were over the top. They are FIRED! To date our home has not been inspected for termites in over 3 three years. First we had 52 ugly bait station disks driven into our lawn. Later to be told they stopped using them. The tech removed most and tossed onto adjoining property. I filled the 3" diameter x 2 foot deep holes myself. Then holes drilled into concrete with sloppy patch job. Schedule appointments result in no show. When they did turn up, milled around for 5-10 minutes & split. I could go on.... We found Terminix ineffective, unprofessional and costly. The yearly increases $450+ for subterranean termite protection is a joke, as we still had termites swarming 3 times a year. When I called Santa Maria mgr. he asked "are you sure they are not ants?" Wow, I know the difference between ants and termites. Hire a local company, I do not recommend them. read more

Neighbors have reported much better experiences in other years, but ours was just miserable. First we're told we have both drywood and subterranean termites, and that the sunroom has a fungus underneath. Drywood can be fumigated, subterranean can be baited, the fungus can be scraped and the surface treated to be impermeable (side question: Why can't everything everywhere be treated and impermeable?) and a vapor barrier can be laid underneath to inhibit the dirt-damp-wood combination that attracts them. We decide to take everything but the bait traps (which we could put out ourselves). Terminix will arrange to have the gas turned off, we will arrange to get it back on. The quoted price for everything (on house and shed) is nearly $1000 more than our neighbor paid, we say, and it is later reduced. Scraping and treating can be done at the same time, it is decided, so that goes from $800 to $400. The price seems very fluid, but we're glad it's going down (from well over $3000 for 1300+ sq feet plus carport and shed). We have to postpone fumigation for a week, our fault, because of trouble getting the cat boarded (which distresses our rep, as she fears she'll be suspected of putting in the order early to get the commission? or something like that), but workmen come to do the rest. Scraping/treating takes less than an hour, maybe less than half an hour, later explained by, "There's hardly any wood under there," which doesn't explain $400-$800, not that I'd want to crawl under there myself for any price. As it turns out it's *impossible* to lay down a vapor barrier because the piers are too close together, which should have been clearly evident from the beginning. We've wrapped all our food and toiletries, dug out all the rocks and cut back the plants around the house (took us days--neighbors didn't have to do all that), and wait all day for the fumigators to show up, until it's too late to cancel the motel room. They never come. We call the rep who says, oh I left you a message last week (nope--we didn't get one, nor a followup to find out why we hadn't responded)--they still haven't figured out how to turn off the gas without turning off our neighbors too, because the meters are in a cluster. We express astonishment that this should be necessary, rep says she'll get the neighbors to agree--she'll get the numbers of the other homes and we'll find out who lives there and she'll contact them. She doesn't call with the numbers. Next day she calls to find out whether *we've* contacted the people. In the meantime we've emailed the city and SoCal ourselves to find out whether strangers really have to go without hot water and cooking for 2-4 days just for us to get rid of our termites. They get back within hours and say absolutely not (and the person who comes out to shut off the gas says they've had that problem with Terminix many times, not knowing when meters can be turned off individually). Great, we're rescheduled. The credit card has already been charged for everything--the neighbors were charged after the work was done We're in the motel but, just in case, we drive by the house to make sure it's been tented. It has, but not the shed that was part of the deal in the first place (and the worst-infested). We call the fumigator, Leadership Fumigation, directly (Terminix contracts that out), and they immediately agree to do it afterwards, and it is done. They didn't put the skirting back after they de-tented, but oh well. We received a refund for the vapor barrier promptly, I have to say (although not the reimbursement the rep repeatedly promised, perhaps without authorization, for the wasted motel room night--again, oh well). This may be an anomaly, or a recent problem with this office. It's not just our rep, though, whose voicemail box was always full--there were times no one answered at the office either--when we needed to tell them the gas company wanted them to call we had to go through the *regional* number to get a response. I hope there's no next time, but if there is we have to try someone else. read more

Do not trust this company. If I could give them a zero I would. They promised to exclude bats from my house and I paid them up front. They did exclude rodents, but when it came time to exclude the bats (months later, which I understand because of regulations) they made a mess of my front yard and finally told me they couldn't do it. They then promised to refund me at least part of the exclusion price, but I didn't hear from them for nearly a month. When they finally sent someone out, which was after I contacted them several times, I was given a song and dance routine about how the inspector was young and didn't know what they were doing and they weren't going to refund me because they had excluded for rodents. They did a decent job at the base of the house, but I feel that I was misled and cheated. I did get rid of the bats, but it was with a device that cost me less than $100 versus the much more expensive price that Terminex charged and didn't refund me. read more

Can I give a zero star rating? If you are lucky enough to get Timoteo Torres as your technician consider yourself blessed. My father-in-law has had him service their home on acreage for close to 10 years. He performed our first service and all our ant problems were solved. He spent nearly an hour yet the work-order i received showed he only spent 7 minutes. Not only did he treat all rooms inside, he also treated a 1 foot perimeter and cleaned cobwebs from the eves and windows. I was so impressed i convinced both of my neighbors to sign up for the service. Then everything turned for the worse. The next service was performed by Brian Rietzke. I was home and never saw him, yet was charged for the service. This continued for almost 2 years. I am home during the day and the tech never rang the doorbell or knocked, and i never saw him perform the service. I grew suspicious when the service was scheduled on a day when it poured rain all day. I was home, I never saw Brian perform service, yet I received an email saying he did. Hmmmm. The next day scheduled for quarterly service I waited and waited to observe. He entered my backyard with a squirt here and there, walked down the driveway with a couple more squirts and left. I received an email stating he spent 20 minutes on the service. In reality, he spent less than a minute on the service, unless you count the time he spent sitting in his truck out front. Brian did not spray the perimeter and most definitely did not use the 3/4 gallon of spray claimed on the service ticket. I immediately called Terminix and cancelled the service. I made it clear that i would not pay for the last service. When i called they said they would credit my account so i would stop receiving the bills for the last service. I was then transferred to an angry woman that said i could pay or be turned over to collections which would affect my credit. In a nutshell, It seems like Terminix only cares about making money and not providing customer service. It is really too bad that it is sooooo corporate that they don't care about making their customers happy. I would have gladly continued the service if they treated me with a bit of respect and had a technician with "integrity" performing the service. read more

Justin Dolores of Terminix recently helped me with a termite inspection that I had a problem with. The original inspector had missed some items that needed to be addressed. This employee no longer works there and Justin stepped in to help me with the problem. He took care of the issue professionally and quickly and even discounted the cost of the additional work that was needed. I scheduled a consultation; the appointment time was set and after the first hour nobody came so I called call center to verify the appointment; they gave me the cell number of the assigned inspector and I called her to verify her arrival time and left a VM... no callback and no show for the appointment. I called and left a message for local manager and never received a return call.... really disappointing; will never go to Terminix for any help read more

I would give this company a big fat "0" rating. 1 star is too good for a company that DOES NOT follow through with their services & contracts. Instead of trying to work something out-especially when the bid was their fault, not the customer... this particular Terminix is only about the money and not the work. We used Terminix for termites at our house in California. The person who did the work was good. However, salesperson was misleading. He said the termite treatment had to be done from the inside and a big section of drywall had to be removed. He also mentioned that he had a friend that could do that for us -- which should have set off an alarm! While we didn't use his friend for the work, we later found out we didn't even need a big opening in the wall. We learned this from the Terminix person who actually did the extermination work -- when he arrived he asked why we had opened up so much of the wall. While the Terminix extermination service in general may be very good, we will never use them again because we don't want to deal with the salesperson again!!! read more

I give this company the absolute LOWEST rating possible. They were impossible to reach by phone. They did not keep their appointments, and when I cancelled my contract they reported me to a collection agency!! I can't believe I ever trusted them. They have been nothing but a grand hassle to deal with. I have spent hours on the phone with their corporate office trying to cancel a contract. I feel DUPED and CHEATED. I want my money back for all the years I paid for Ultimate Termite Protection Guarantee and I will be reporting Terminix to the Bureau of Consumer Affairs. This is a scam! We went with this so we could do preventive maintenance for dry rot or if termites showed up. Terminix inspectors found only minimal dry rot and no termites as they did the inspections year after year. We would fix the dry rot when they told us about it. We are now selling our home and called Terminix to do the Termite and Wood Destroying Organisms inspection required to sell a home. The Terminix inspector stayed about 45 minutes and said everything looked good - no termites and a couple areas of minor dry rot. My realtor was skeptical (he doesn't trust "guarantees") and encouraged us to have another inspection done by a different company. We did and they found termites AND dry rot to the tune of about $25,000 in repairs. All the dry rot will have to be fixed plus the home will need to be tented and fumigated. If Terminix had been doing their job, we could have had the work done as it appeared and not take such a huge financial hit as we prepared our home for sale. I talked with a Terminix rep via their "chat" option. She agreed my complaint was valid and that someone would be contacting me to discuss mitigation. That was almost 2 weeks ago and I have not heard from anyone. I have been happy with my bug control service, though. That rep shows up regularly and does the job. 3/30/2017. I'm pleased to report that Terminix stepped up and admitted to lapses in their service with our property. Eric, the new regional manager, worked with us to mitigate the damage and get our home Termite and dry rot free. It still cost us money but not as much as it might have. It still would have been better to have been informed of the problems as they occurred over time but we are fine with the outcome. read more

He did a thorough inspection and showed us the trouble spots. A team was at our home within two days to drill and spray. We haven't had any signs of termites since then. On March 27, 2019 I called Terminix in Santa Maria, CA to make an appointment for a termite inspection. I chose Terminix as my neighbor recommended them and they offer a termite maintenance plan for a yearly fee. I was a potential one time customer as well as a customer that generated a yearly fee (sales) for Terminix. I made my appointment for Friday March 29, 2019 between the hours of 3-5 pm. I was home waiting for the representative between 3-5. No one showed up. I called Terminix about ten minutes after 5 to ask what was going on. The lady that answered the phone was able to find my appointment in her records via my telephone number. She told me no one showed up "because the appointment was not approved." I told her that when I made the appointment nothing was said about it needing approval. I believe she was being less than candid and was just trying to provide an excuse I would accept for the no show. I suggested to the lady that she have a nice day and hung up. How any company can stay in business when they treat a potential new customer this way is beyond me. Had she simply said, "we made a mistake, can we reschedule" I would have rescheduled. I suggest caution to anyone considering this company. Oh, one more thing. Before I called to make an appointment I tried to make my appointment online. I went through the process and the website returned an error that it could not schedule my appointment. I immediately got an email from Terminix stating that my appointment was all setup. I received the email at 1:17 pm on Wednesday March 27, 2019 and the email stated that my appointment was for 2:00 PM on Wednesday March 27 2019. So nice of Terminix to tell me they can't schedule an appointment then schedule an appointment and give me a whole 42 minutes advanced notice ( I was at work) while giving me no choice in the date and/or time. Is this anyway to run any business? I think not. read more

I would never suggest anyone going here. They had came to my home on a Wednesday and we had scheduled to have our home fumigated on that following Monday. As part of the preparation you must clean out all food expect can food into these plastic bags they give you. So Monday morning we were ready for them having prepared the night before and making hotel arrangements to stay somewhere while the house was being fumigated. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP!!! I called several times trying to find out what had happen as I was told they would be there between 8-10 am, I finally received a phone call at 11:31am letting me know there was a mix-up and the technician that scheduled us no longer worked for them and they would not be able to come until Thursday. Needless to say I will not be doing business with them and will do my best to see that other don't as well. read more

We discovered indications that we had termites in our home - frass dropping out of a hole in our dinning room. I did some research and decided to try Treminix. Initial contact with Terminix received prompt response. Terminix representative, Joel, coordinated appointment with my schedule and arrived right on time. Inspection was thorough and confirmed termite activity in structure. Joel explained the situation and identified options for treatment. Fumigation was agreed on. We had scheduled a trip to visit grand-kids and Joel scheduled the tenting to fit our timing. He provided information for preparation and safety of our property when the tenting and fumigation took place. I was home then the contractor's crew who did the actual tenting arrived. They were very easy going but anxious to get the job done when we were slightly delayed due to pet kenneling issues before we could vacate our home. The crew leader Joey took time to explain the safety precautions and the actual process of fumigation. He assured me of the safety and security of our home - which was confirmed on our return home. I have no reservations about recommending this team for termite problems. read more

Had the extended control care plan for pest and termites.. They were to come out once every QTR or as we needed them. We had to call just to get them to show up for the regular scheduled appointment for pest control. I canceled that plan and kept my termite protection. The inspector that was scheduled to show up,failed to show on three different occasions. his name is Mike Ericson. I called all three times, got to talk to a regional support tech (Alex, in Phoenix, AZ), who referred it to the Branch manager. Branch manager contact me 3 days later to schedule someone else to show and perform the termite inspection. Still no one has shown up to perform the service I have paid for. This is the worst service I have ever experienced from a company whose job is to provide service to CUSTOMERS. Do not was your money, time, or breathe talking to these unprofessional, unresponsive pieces of human excrement. read more
