The elements are easy enough to list: fabulous swimmable lake, fresh vegetables within walking distance, lots of hiking, farmer's market in town once a week, easy places to grill, many points of interest (a drive to an abandoned iron mine for the history minded, or visit the ladies that make goat cheese and pet a goat). And a sky filled with billions and billions of stars... but other places can make similar claims. As you see from the other reviews, many guests have fallen under the special spell of the place's enchantment long ago, and are drawn back. Me too, now.

The cabins are always kept nicely, the staff are extremely friendly and will do anything to make their guest's truly amazing. There is a swimming area in their private lake, row boats for each cabin, a tennis court, ping pong tables, a swing set for adults and kids, and of course beautiful hiking trails. The N is a magical and special place that anyone can enjoy and I hope to share it with more guests in the future.

Loved the Lodge decor & space, coffee station in lobby & daily choc chip cookies in the lobby. We used the game room, the indoor pool, the hang out areas. Favorite spots were the beach, snack shack, deck overlooking the lake. Beach swim area PERFECT for toddlers!! The sand was great & resort provided beach toys, chairs & beach towels (so helpful!). Loved the open grassy areas, fire pits & cute chairs, playground & mini golf. Only gripe was our lower level rooms were musty & water stain on shower ceiling (Rm 211) - would be easy to fix that stain. Daily housekeeping for the rooms is included but slow (I had to request it 3 times in one day; finally done around 4:30pm). Overall we would totally recommend this resort. VERY family-friendly! We made terrific memories & would definitely return. I just think a bit more refreshing of the rooms would elevate the experience to remove the negatives.

They gave us our campground and we were on our way. When we got to the lot, it was much smaller than it looked on the website which was unfortunate because we were 6 people. We went back to the office and while they were fully booked, we ended up getting switched to a lot 3x the size as our original. We were SO happy with this. The grounds were kept so nicely, the bathrooms were incredibly clean, and there was a firewood/ice truck making rounds to keep the fire and party going smoothly. The lake view is absolutely gorgeous and the beach is kept very nicely. Overall great experience!

There still some thing to improved on. 1st at the dump for RV the black top has this high mount where I saw an Van crack their bottom plate that should be fix car part are to high in price. There is just one little thing the shower heads are good if you are 5 foot 8. And not for anyone taller like 6 foot. But it was a great time camping. Good Job

They had a variety of sizes of lodging so it was easy to have one for our need. The price was so reasonable to be right on the lake. Fishing right outside the room in the morning and if we had only had time the most lovely beach and dock. The room was super clean. Making it very enjoyable was the host and hostess, Joe and Debbie. Super nice people and how they could make us laugh! I will most definitely be staying there again! I highly recommend it.

The water was a bit calm but there were a few parts that were crazy. I was in the back of the raft with our guide so that made me feel a bit safer (I'm adventurous but this definitely had my heart racing as a newbie). My fiancé and friends (they've gone white water rafting before) thought the water was too calm and mentioned coming back when the snow is melting and there are more white caps. Our guide was fun and was trying to get us to "surf" our raft next to a rock which was cool. He also jokingly led us into a rock and I flew forward (luckily he caught me before I went too far ha). When you do go, they provide all of the gear you need and more. Buses take you to and from the river. You will also have to help lift the raft to the water with your group (I ended up slipping and falling on the rocks going down to the river so that was "fun", there are snacks/lunch provided when there's a break in between rafting. Towards the end, it was so calm, we had to row for a good mile or two to get us back. When you get back, dinner is provided and it was delicious! I had a fun time and I do want to come back when the water is choppier. Summer was a good choice for a first timer. All in all, I loved this company and our guide (I want to say his name was Buzz). Our ride down the river was truly a lazy one and sometimes we had to push ourselves along because the current was so slow but we never felt in danger. Definitely wear sunscreen and I would recommend bringing bug spray too. We got bit by black flies a few times and they hurt!! Also heads up, the tubing spot only has one portapotty, so plan accordingly.

Fun songs, dad jokes told better, and I love to her say "Keep paddlin." Lori "Loves to SURF" . This is the best time in the Hudson. We spent several minutes in "Fluffy Box" and she even got the raft turned around!!! We also made it into Bus Stop and got in some good surf there as well. But wait - there's more! We went down Jiffy Pop Backwards!!!!! Bestest Ginger snaps and other super healthy lunch options too, washed down with yummy hibiscus pink tea. So - if you want the small company vibe that cares about you as a participant and partner, Square Eddy is the way to go.

In the short amount of time we spent with the owners, we got to know them and their friends very well. Linc was our guide and he was full of knowledge and information. He was also a tremendous guide as far as rafting is concerned. The lunch we all shared was homemade and delicious. The cookies we had were incredible. The fresh fruit was a nice touch too. In total there were 4 rafts and approximately 20 people. We didn't need to wait around for anyone and the entire operation felt smooth and well-planned. Very calm vibe, but there's plenty to do - there's water access from the cabins or the town beach is a mile away, a dock guests can use if they rent a boat in town (or come with their own kayak), basketball, cornhole, and a bonfire pit on the property, games and books available from the office, a good restaurant right across the street and more nearby, Lake George and Saratoga are a half hour drive away and there are hiking trails etc much closer. The Seagle Music Colony's right up the road too, productions with excellent young singers each summer. The owners are renovating the property, everything's new and clean. We stayed in the 3-bedroom cabin, very comfortable, with a good-sized kitchen and a grill outside, dining table overlooking the lake. Hope to be back next summer!
