Stopped by for the enticing €10 happy hour - a drink and a plate of olives, crisps and bruschetta. Absolutely worth the deal, everything was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere inside is charming and air conditioned which was great. We got the carbonara with truffle, wild boar, ravioli, pepper stake, and wild boar with tagliatelle. We went to a bunch of wonderful restaurants during our week in Rome. We wanted to do something special for the last night so we went to Terra di Siena which has a Bisteca a la Florentino on their menu. My husband and I recently had a great meal at Terra di Siena consisting of a burrata cheese, arugula and tomato salad, homemade pasta with mushrooms and grilled steak with fresh rosemary. Everything was absolutely delicious and fairly priced. The server spoke little English but was friendly and provided prompt service. We initially were planning on going to a different restaurant nearby that had good reviews but when we got there and saw the line, we decided to find some place else, and happened to stumble upon this place, and we are glad we did. Terre di Sienna is a medium size bistro a few blocks from the Patheon. It has approx. a dozen seatings outside and maybe 20 inside. AC inside was a welcome feature after a day of walking around Rome. They have one clean bathroom hidden in the back. Kristina and Ketty were delightful and patient with us. Our order was taken accurately and suggestions we're given. We had some Aperol spritzers to cool off, then a bottle of syrah with our meal. My anchovies on toasted bread were delicious an my wife's green beans were very flavorful. We shared a Florentine steak that was cooked to perfection ( better than the one we had in Florence 2 days ago). Long review short, we liked it a lot and would go back. read more

The best meat and cheese platter in ITALY. Yes i said it...in all of Italy or at least out of the three cities I went to in Italy. The cheeses were like butter texture and had all different tastes. The crostinis and bread were crunchy. I loved the honey and jams offered with the meats on the platter. You can get two glasses of wine and this meat/cheese platter for "happy hour". Came across this quaint restaurant on our way back from the Pantheon. We had a disappointing dinner last night so looking for some kind of redemption. I liked that the guy was not pushy... visitors in Italy know what I mean... He let us browse through the menu without hovering like a hawk, forcing us to eat at their restaurant. He answered some of our questions and waited until we were ready to be seated. The place is small, they had a few tables inside and 4 to 5 tables outside. Their menu is not that lengthy, which has the traditional antipasti, pasta and main course. No pizza here... I ordered their truffle gnocchi and the rest of our group ordered the traditional pasta. Spicy pici, ravioli, carbonara, spaghetti alla vongole, pear and cheese salad and meat balls with potatoes. For dessert we got tiramisu and creme brûlée with caffe latte and latte macchiato. Their food was tasty. Liked my gnocchi, it was made fresh and the truffle taste was perfect. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. My niece loved her ravioli and finished it so fast. I tasted the pear and cheese salad which was so simple but when you add the oil and honey, it was transformed. The desserts were also awesome! Tiramisu was just sweetened right. The creme brûlée was also not so sweet, just flavored well. I've never had bad coffee drinks in Italy... so as expected the coffee is superb. What a great meal to end our busy day. Both my husband and I LOVED the dishes we selected. He ordered a maltagliati pasta that was cooked to perfection. It was not a fancy dish but all of the flavors were so perfectly combined that nothing else was needed (salt, pepper, parmesan). I had the Roman - style artichoke and could not have been more pleased. Again, the flavors were so well combined. I absolutely loved the dish! The service was very good, as well. And, they were not aggressive about us coming to their restaurant, like others were. We will definitely come back before we leave. Side note: it is May when we're traveling and the mosquitos were bad, so consider sitting inside. read more

Me and my hubby went here for our last meal on our honeymoon and they did not disappoint us!!! Lovely atmosphere and the owner was so nice!! We started off with the liver appetizer and actually didn't like it because we thought it was French pate. Our dish sat there not eaten for a while as we drank our wine. The owner came by and asked us if we didn't like our fish and offered to bring out another app for us!! That is sooo unheard of here! She brought out bruschetta and it was AMAZIng! So simple and delicious! My main entree was the gnocchi filled with cheese in truffle sauce!! Ahhh sooooooooo goooood!! I had to eat it slow to savor it! This is a perfectly fine restaurant for tourists. The prices are fine; the wine selection is fine; the food is fine. If this was a restaurant in middle America, it would probably be everyone's favorite. But you are in ROME. The food is approx 97.5% of the reason you came and it should knock your socks off. Our favorite food stop in Rome! So good we went back twice (back to back days) during our vacation. I keep thinking about the Carbonara, delicious! Grilled calamari was amazing, I need to find a way to recreate at home. Customer service was great, too. We love this place!! We have been here two weeks on our honeymoon and this is the only restaurant that we have gone back to. We came across this restaurant for lunch after visiting the Pantheon. While venturing down some side streets we saw the restaurant next to Terra di Siena because of its patio. After looking at the menu, we moved on and saw Terra di Siena. There was only one other couple dining, but the menu looked good. The service was good compared to most other European restaurants we dined at. I had a dish with lamb in it, which was rather fatty. My husband had the lasagna and that is the main reason i gave this review 4 stars. the BEST lasagna ever! it's made with bechamel sauce --- yummm! read more

awful dining experience! when we were seated, they gave us stale bread after we politely asked three times and olive oil and vinegar with no plates! how were we supposed to have the bread? anyway, we went along with it until they served us the food, which was amazing, and we thought 'maybe this isn't so bad after all'. we were wrong. it took EXACTLY 20 minutes for them to give us and pick up the check after we asked several times. totally ruined our night until we had amazing tiramisu down the street. don't come here if you want good service!!! read more

After a long day of adventures and bike tour of the country we decided in this place instead of our favorite a few doors down. Menu looked good, and seemed to have a great deal of satisfied people, and they offered lasagna, which after two weeks all over Italy, we hadn't had, and it was our last night. All the places we had been served such large portions, and I was unsure how hungry I was. So we started with one plate, of lasagna, to share. That must have irritated our waitress, beyond belief, because after this she was so rude and unwelcoming. We would have ordered more, due to the little piece of lasagna was not enough for the two of us. We would have ordered dessert, as well, but the pure disgust she showed us, made us quickly finish our small, dry piece of lasagna, chug down our wine and beer, and head out the door. This was the best place we ate in Rome. My wife and I were there for eight days on our honeymoon. We stumbled across this place after about three days. We tried to find another place that was better, but we couldn't (and this is Rome we're talking about!). So we gave up trying and ate there three times in all. We highly recommend the pappardelle with wild boar, the rabbit, the artichokes wrapped in veal and the tira misu. Although everything we had was good, so the other stuff probably is, too.
