I reserved a table online and wrote down my preferences in the comment section. The staff were able to follow all my prompts to celebrate my cousin's 40th birthday. All the staff were very welcoming and super attentive. The food was great, but you do have to wait at least 30 minutes for your entrees. The food all came out at the same time and my entire table enjoyed their dishes. The potato gnocchi was crunchy and soft in the middle. Amazing flavours. The steaks were cooked to perfection. We were all very full by the end of the meal. The only complaint I have is the menu prices. The prices in the menu do not match with our receipt and we realized this after we left. It's only a couple of dollars more, but as a fine dining experience, you want the prices to reflect correctly so you don't deceive the customers. Overall, the food and service was good, but you need to make sure you're getting charged correctly!!

If you are looking for a nearby spot in the north end of Thornhill to celebrate that special occasion, you found it. We came early on a Saturday, and from arrival to departure, the service was impeccable, and the food was amazing. We received complementary bread, following which we went direct to mains of the 12 ounce sirloin and Arctic Char. The steak was well done to my wife's request, and the fish came with row and rappini. We also shared mushrooms and truffle fries, which were all finished. The prices were on the higher end, but when you got folks pulling up in Ferraris and ordering champagne, this is definitely worth a once in a while treat. We finished with a shared pussong cake and feemxh press coffee. I. terms of service, prepare to be fawned over from end to end. A great time and experience, well worth the tax and tip included. Have fun -Zuk

For a perfect dining experience for both food and service, Terra is definitely the place! I've had this place on my list for awhile and finally made it here for dinner yesterday. It was so hard to decide on what to order as there were too many items that I wanted to try. It's probably not proper fine-dining etiquette to share dishes but we did it anyway with our starters. The 3 of us shared the beef carpaccio, grilled calamari and soup of day to start. Oh my goodness...all the dishes were delicious especially the beef carpaccio. Both my daughter and I devoured this dish and we both said that we are going to order our own next time! As for our main course, we really enjoyed all the dishes as well. My seafood spaghettiini was amazing and my daughter loved her Gnocchi dish. And my husband had the Branzino filet which was also perfectly done. I would definitely have a hard time deciding which main to order on my next visit. Overall, impeccable service, great atmosphere and amazing food! Just note that the food is a bit pricey. We will definitely back.

This is my first fine dining experience ever and it was great! Came here on a Saturday evening for dinner and it was hard to find parking, they do offer free valet though. We didn't want to valet and had to park on top of this ramp at spots not reserved. For appetizers, we had some oysters (super fresh and tasty), foie gras and some calamari. I thought the appetizers were decent, nothing stood out expect for the oysters. For the main course, I went with the Branzino with side of mushrooms and mixed veggies. The Branzino was super flaky and the seasoning was spot on. I enjoyed it very much and the portion was decent for a place like this. For dessert, I got the creme brulee with a biscotti and once again delicious, but not outstanding for the price. What made this experience for me though was the amazing service! Everyone was super lovely and took the time to chat with us and made sure that we were all well taken care of. Overall, a great experience!

I came to this restaurant for a wedding anniversary and overall it was a great experience. The ambience was nice. The service was too tier as the server as well as other staff. Consistently checked up with how we were doing and offered complimentary goat checking for us. The food which what we came for was great overall. We had ordered 3 main courses to share so that we can taste everything the pork chop was grilled to perfection I loved that it was all cut up a d made it easier for us to share. As well as the fingerling potatoes and veggies attached was smoothered in a very beautiful tasty creamy sauce. Definitely as great dish. The seafood platter was good overall. Had a good mix of different seafood grilled up nicely. Although red pepper puree is not my personal favourite. It was very flavourful and I can imagine how for others would be a clear highlight. I loved the seafood without it. The stuffed portobello was nice. Although the tomato sauce that was with the veggies was something else. That I appreciated the most flavour wise. We did end off the night with a good lemon meringue cake. And this nice platter for cheese and nuts. Which was. Very flavourful m especially the premissian cheese. I think this place is worth a shot for those looking for Italian food that is. More than just pastas. Good variety. Would recommend

I have bookmarked this place for a while after seeing some good reviews on yelp. However, the service was not very good and food was mediocre and overpriced. It's a 2.5 stars rounded down to 2. We ordered the halibut and the beef cheek raviolo as main. The halibut had no flavour at all and was so dry. So did the side vegetable. It had a weird sweet taste. I had strong incentive throughout the meal to tell the chef that I would rather cook the fish myself. For the raviolo, the mushroom tasted yummy. However, the sauce was a bit too heavy with too much creams and spices applied. The minced beef cheek tasted a bit fishy. The portion of the dish was small for a small eater like me, not as was recommended by the waiter. Throughout the meal, we got almost no service. It took us a long time to call for the bill and the machine. The waiter did not have a good understanding of the portion of the dishes neither.

Summary: Upscale restaurant with upscale service, food and price. Came here for a business dinner. Parking is plentiful as it surrounds the restaurant and there is additional parking above the restaurant. Service: Very good. From entering to exiting, was greeted and asked if there was anything they could do for me. Food service is organized. Food: Prosperity slaw was pretty impressive. It must have had at least 15 different ingredients mixed together. I enjoyed that items were fresh and crunchy, not overly drenched in salad dressing. The salad dressing was very light and had a hint of spice. I do wish it was just a bit stronger flavor but overall good. 4.5/5. Had a seafood plate - came with half tail of lobster, 1 scallop, 2 large shrimp, some pieces of salmon and a piece of grilled branzino. All this on a bed of tomato soup/stew - not thin enough to be soup but not quite thick enough to be stew. The lobster was grilled perfectly, the shrimps were tender, firm and juicy. The scallop was decent sized but may have been a tad overcooked. Salmon and branzino was good - good grill flavor to the branzino. 4.5/5. Dessert duo was a slice of chocolate cake with chocolate sauce and a slice of plum pound cake. Good flavor and enjoyed the contrast between the two. Small but in my opinion, just right portion size. 4/5. Price: Definitely on the higher end of pricing but you do get what you pay for. This place is meant for special occasions, not a "just-don't-feel-like-cooking" night.

Loved the food! Ordered the Caesar salad and pan fried gnocchi! Both tasted excellent! Fantastic service and very romantic and cozy vibe!

We ordered a couple of seafood pasta entrees. It's not the typical red sauce pasta, but with a strong garlic oil taste. I LOVED it! The pasta was al dente and all the meats and oils balanced nicely. The lobster could have been fresher, however, as you can tell that the lobster had been dead before cooking based on the texture of the meat. In fairness yet sadly, this is a common flaw with lobsters from non-Asian restaurants. All in all, if you have $$$ to spend, try their seafood pasta!

Can't believe I've been going here over 20 years. The restaurant has gone though several evolutions, a lot more casual these days. Can't wait until it opens up in doors and they bring the jazz back? Service is impeccable as always.

The restaurant is super quiet and they offer great quality of food with great service, and the price is expensive if you choose to order sukiyaki set (expect $80+ per person). You can choose between sushi sets at different price level or sukiyaki from the menu. This suits the need of our group given some people prefer sushi but some couldn't eat raw food. They also offer a couple of limited appetizer dishes such as tempuras and unagi don. If you booked the sukiyaki table and want to order sushi, you need to call them in advance to notify which sushi sets you want. We tried the sashimi and sushi courses at $55, which included miso soup, 5 pieces of sashimi, 8 pieces of sushi (squid, toros, salmon, scallop etc.), handroll and matcha or black sesame icecream at your choice. The sushi is smaller than average, suitable for small eaters. The course is totally worth the money. I love every piece of sashimi and my favourite sushi include the scallop and the squid. Everything was super fresh. The dessert was also having the perfect sweetness level for me. In addition, we also tried the sukiyaki for two ($110), which includes mushrooms, cabbages, great quality of Angus beef, yummy tofu and udon. Again, all the material was with great quality and super fresh. I especially liked the sweet sukiyaki soup, the tofu and the udon. We also ordered some shareable dishes including chawanmushi, unagi don and cod. Cod was cooked to perfect (soft and flavourful), and unagi don had quite decent portion. It would be better if the unagi could be softer from my personal opinion. Chawanmushi was mediocre. Overall, I strongly recommend this restaurant to fan of Japanese cuisine. It meets different people's needs by offering both cooked and raw food options, and the sushi set definitely has great value for money.

That's because every other guest was a well-known "regular" -- a very good sign. We were ushered through the tranquil restaurant and seated at the sushi bar, a zen ambience. We chose the $55 sushi+sashimi omakase lunch course, and it didn't disappoint. The eight pieces of nigiri featured a somewhat typical selection of fish (and hotate/scallop), but slightly edgy and unique in the choice of seasoning and flavours, prepared by Chef Takinami with all the pomp and ceremony and you would expect from fine omakase. The pacing was excellent, we never felt rushed from piece to piece; the wait staff were attentive as would be expected from a high-end Japanese restaurant, on par with omakases that cost three times as much. Overall, incredible value on the meal, for both the food and experience. We couldn't help but look around at what the regulars were enjoying (in addition to their omakase nigiri) -- botan ebi nigiri with deep fried shrimp heads, chawanmushi, cooked dishes featuring monk fish livers, tempura appetizers and more... some great ideas for our next visit!

We were brought to a table that was just being reset, and when asked to switch to a larger table, they had no issue with it. We asked for pu-erh and tieguanyin tea for the table; they brought us two pots of tieguanyin. Relatively easy fix but when we asked for pu-erh they almost brought us heung-pin. The wait staff was okay, most were pleasant. A few didn't look very happy to be there, maybe they were bored, it wasn't busy. I did find it was somewhat difficult to get their attention when we were looking for someone. Some of the food was served hot (dry fried beef noodle, glutinous meat dumpling) but unfortunately most of the food was warm, at best. The beef noodle was actually very tasty, and probably the best item we had. Sadly, the part that really leaves me uneasy is their fish tank. Three out of the four tanks were empty with green algae, with a dead fish at the bottom of the fourth. The optics really don't serve the restaurant in a positive way whatsoever. Honestly speaking, I lost my appetite once I realized what I saw.
