Note- party planning review. Went here on Saturday January 25th 2025 with my family to look at places to book my dad's 60th birthday party. I was very impressed with the room setup, as it was a big room with chandliers, nice tables and chairs, and looked very beautiful for an event. Even had an upstairs part where one can hang out if a person wants to. We met with a person who is no longer working there, but she was very nice. There are lots of options if one is planning a party: there are breakfast/brunch options, a buffet option, and a sit down option.We would have done a sit down option, which included salad, pasta, fish, steak and chicken dishes. (ask for a sit down menu for specifics) Including options like an open bar. She did a good job answering all our questions and concerns.Also just a small feedback, they should have samples of food around so that a person planning the party knows how the food tastes. While we encase our trust in them to make good Salmon for instance, i think it would be benefical for all party planners to know how the food is. We also checked the restroom, which was clean, and was big and roomy. It is also a little more on the expensive side. While we decided on another venue, I really liked this one despite not really being on the water, but having a small waterfall from the view of the window. This place is beautiful!! It has been re-done and it's a great venue! We stopped in for dinner and the staff were very friendly! The 3 of us ultimately enjoyed our meals but mine did have to go back because the pasta was under-cooked. They were very apologetic and we still enjoyed ourselves. This place was terrible. Was just at a function. They ran out of food. They even tried serving chicken with a piece of cheese on it and called it chicken parmigiana. When l asked where's the food was they give us 10 min. I waited nothing came. They also have no one checking the bathrooms they had no paper towels. You have this huge function. Wouldn't you plan to have more than enough food and paper towels. Gee They are definitely not ready to host functions. Update- so l heard from one of the guest that the Hudson took responsibility and gave them a gift certificate for some dinners. I had my daughters bridal shower here in March 2020 Just Before the "bottom dropped" out from under all of us due to COVID-19. What a Great surprise! We were in a bind for a school fundraiser and within 24 hours Terrace on the Hudson pulled together a spectacular event! They were gracious enough to allow us to stay until 10:45pm to set up the night before the event, which btw is when we booked it! The place was gorgeous and the food was delicious! All hands were on deck. Their staff was wonderful setting up tables and providing whatever was asked for. If you are looking for concierge service for your event look no further! Me and my husband had our wedding at Terrace on the Hudson just a few days ago on 08/08/20 and let me just say I would do it again 10 times! No one we were close to had ever had an event there, so at first we were full of doubt. Juan, the event manager, however quickly helped us get rid of the doubt. He was the only person willing to show us around the venue during the time when COVID-19 was starting to dwindle down. We fell in love with the look of the place; high ceilings, chandeliers, a waterfall, and a beautiful ball room. Jumping to the day of the wedding, we were left in shock with the wonderful service not only us and our family received, but the guests as well. So many of our guests have told us they were left amazed by the venue. Juan, his fiancée, and the staff were so attentive down to every detail. We were brought food and piña coladas to the bridal suite, which was amazing. The food selection and quality was great as well. All in all, every penny you spend per person is worth it. Can't say enough about this place. From the free valet parking to the great wait staff and the fantastic food. Our server greeted us promptly and took our drink order. The only issue we had all night was that he brought me a Bud Light instead of a Budweiser. When I told him I ordered a Bud he apologized and promptly brought me the correct drink. He took our dinner and appetizer order and allows us to change a few things around due to our children being picky eaters. I ordered the chicken parmigiana with ziti. It was outstanding. My wife, whose birthday we were celebrating ordered the pork chops with spinach and mashed potatoes. The dish was great as well. One daughter had grilled chicken over salad and the other daughter grilled chicken over linguine. They loved it. When it came time for desert our waiter brought over a pre arranged cheesecake with a candle in it and we all sang "Happy Birthday. My daughter had the molten lava cake. The desserts were devoured. The Valet guys were great (overworked and underpaid but they were still friendly)...However Pretty disappointed after years of seeing our old Tor Haven refurbished and the beauty of this diamond in a rough...the service and food were a B at most. Very expensive, they sat us (with my.mother who is on oxygen) in the bar area on Mothers day when we had reservations to dine. Saying they were tables also... It was noisy, distracting....poor bartender had no help and had to wait tables too. Food was NOT worth the $. Very amateur cooking. Wont return. My family and I were sad. read more

The shrimp were rubbery, the pieces of chicken were very dry, the rice was just okay and over cooked for my taste. Nothing special ... for $29 this dish should have been flavorful, not bland. Wow what a beautiful place! We sat outside and we felt like we were on vacation in some far away place, absolutely lovely. The food was excellent but the service, as with most Rockland restaurants was slightly off. Not terrible mind you, just a little slow and inconsistent throughout the night. There were some long stretches when there was no staff in sight. The French martini was the best I ever had! The rest of the food was all great. My only complaint was the bread which is a small thing, but it just wasn't very good. At these prices some warm rolls would make sense. read more

Went to a Cocktail Party there for a dear friend..I definetly believe they took advantage of her children..the set up was 90% her children, all they provided was the room and 3 tables, you expect people to stand around for 4 hours?? My friend had to request extra chairs for people to sit! Then came the appetizers...wow, HUGE disappointment! If you were going to charge these poor kids money per head for a cocktail party, then please have the decency of providing something more than frozen appetizers from a supermarket!!! They only had two people going around with these measly little springs rolls. miniature crab cakes(frozen kind), tiny empanadas, also frozen kind, etc. and some chicken on a skewer that everyone devoured cause it was the only decent thing provided! I felt so horrible for them, their kids hearts were in the right place but they got robbed! People left there starving and she had everyone over to her house to eat real food! Shame on you! The only thing was unlimited wine and beer but with no food. everyone was getting tipsy. If you're going to promote a "Cocktail Party" then at least give them what you see at a wedding cocktail hour! You should call these kids and apologize to them because I spoke to their mother this morning, she and her husband are NOT HAPPY! We went both to dinner and to two events. The first time we went it was dinner for two. The food is expensive and not worth the money. It tasted ok a bit on the salty side and we did not leave with intentions to return. The first function was in a ballroom downstairs. They had valet parking for that event and the food was simple and not that tasty. I didn't go up for seconds that's for sure. The second event was upstairs. This is a brand new facility built from the ground up and it does not have an elevator. They have this humongous stairway but no chair lift either. My husband is handicap and it was horrible for him not being able to go up the stairs. I want to know how this facility was able to get a certificate of occupancy without being handicap compliant. So, this new incarnation of Terrace on the Hudson is great. It has been renovated and the entire place is inviting. The bar area is a great place to have drink with your friends as you wait for your table. The dining room is tasteful and charming. The food is delicious it's their interpretation of Italian favorites. The service is great. The night I was there they had a great wine list with many selections reasonably priced. If you know the City Line in New City you will recognize Juan the owner. He gave me a tour of the place and I have to say that I was impressed with the manner in which it was the place was redone. If you are planning a function this is the place to go. You have to see for yourself but I think it's worth the time to take the tour. It's very impressive. I got married here September 2019. At first we were very nervous about booking here because there weren't many reviews on the banquet hall since the renovation. But we booked terrace on the hudson because we loved the look of the venue and they were the only hall that worked with us with having a saturday wedding with out intimate group (115 people). Everything went better than expected. Juan was so calm and understanding he met with us numerous times and was able to answer any questions right away. He let us put our own spin on things and made all our wishes come true. The food was amazing and the plates had hug portions, everyone's still raving. They also worked with any allergies or food preferences. Also the open bar was premium liquor and we were able to have his and her drinks. The bridal suite is beautiful and looks amazing in photographs. Juan let me get ready in the bridal suite and even had champagne for us. He also had food waiting for us after we did our last look photos and we were all starving by that time. I recommend terrace on the hudson to anyone looking for a banquet hall for any parties especially weddings. read more

First, we dealt with two different people when booking our venue. One would charge half price for all kids LIKE EVERY VENUE DOES, then the guy got fired so working with Maureen she refused to discount me for any child i had and we had 10+ kids charged ADULT prices! Then I left my $400 veil and my shoes there and when I was unable to pick them up Maureen said they were "thrown out", we spent lots of money on this venue and they could have at least mailed them to me. Maureen said she would come by the night of the wedding reception to make sure everything was going good and she failed to do so. She also failed to put a Television in the bridal suite as promised. We had problems starting with the cocktail hour. Since they set it up as if it was a sit-down dinner people started sitting down at tables that WERE NOT cocktail tables, since it wasnt a sit down hour there weren't enough chairs for everyone to be seated and many family members started asking us for chairs to be seated. When it came time to the reception, we had to ask them to dim the lights since they had not changed all night. Once they have your money you are treated like shit. Beware! read more
