She knew exactly how to swaddle and pose him, while Steve was a true artisan with the camera. Steve captured the most expressive shots at all the right angles. Beverly and Steve were also very receptive to our requests! My husband is a rock climber, so we wanted to create a couple of newborn pictures that included his climbing gear. Beverly made it come together so beautifully! Steve and Beverly were also patient and kind about newborn messes (spraying during diaper changes, spit up after feeding, etc.). They've seen it all (they are parents themselves), and the mess doesn't faze them. In addition, they gave some great advice to ease my anxieties as a first-time mom. Emma and her assistant (I am so sorry that I am forgetting her name) were able to capture everything we loved about that day. We got so many photos as part of our package, and there are no duds. It is an impossible task to go through and pick our favorites. The photos are the part of the wedding that last forever, and we could not be happier that we went with Emma. What my wife and I were drawn to about Emma's photos when we were shopping around, and what we saw reflected in our own photos, is her ability to capture little moments. She has a great sense for when something subtle but meaningful is happening, like a family member starting to tear up, or a speechgiver's friend in the crowd laughing at their joke. That's what is really valuable about the photos to us, and something I am not sure every photographer can get you. She is also a consummate professional. She is efficient and purposeful-she makes sure she captures all the important moments without consuming your whole day with photos. She provides clear instructions, which is helpful as the wedding couple, but is even more helpful when you are taking family photos with several different combinations of people. Emma is also so kind and lovely to be around. I normally do not like having photos taken of me, and it can be uncomfortable to be in that many photos, making serious faces, and allowing someone in during a highly emotional day. Emma makes that whole process comfortable and enjoyable. You can tell she has a real passion for doing this and truly enjoys getting to know the couples. Her friendliness and confidence put you at ease. This is a really important point-you spend as much time with the photographer on your wedding day as anyone else! Emma is a great person to spend that time with. I also want to note that all of the above is also true of Emma's assistant. Again, I am so sorry I am forgetting her name. But she was in charge of getting most of the groom and groomsmen photos at the beginning of the ceremony, and was such a pleasure to work with. He arrived on time and worked his camera tirelessly for almost 10 hours capturing our entire wedding. He even kneeled on the ground to take many of our photos which to this day we are still amazed by his professionalism. Great work ethic as well. You would think for a 10 hr event, many photographers would take several breaks but not James. He took so many photos and urged us to take more pictures. Communication was fast, responsive and stress free. We were very comfortable with him on our big day as well as for our engagement photos. The only thing I would mention is to practice poses ahead of time, some were a little repetitive and lacked the "instagram wow" feel but if you're someone not good with posing, James will give suggestions so don't worry. The best part is you get to keep all of the photos not just the selected edited ones. I now realized not all photographers will give you the entire gallery which would be a huge disappointment for your big day. I like his editing style which is realistic and authentic with enhanced color. As many mentioned, turn around time was super fast. James also made several small edits to our final gallery to make the pictures even better. Pricing was reasonable. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

After finding Karen on Facebook, I finally decided it was time to make the jump. She had created a Facebook environment that was friendly, supportive and inclusive so I knew she was the one I needed to do my photos. From initial conversation to the day of the shoot Karen was friendly, informative and communicative. She gave me all my options and walked me through my choices. Then on the day of the shoot, I had so much fun. I was never uncomfortable or nervous. Hair and make up did their magic. All three ladies made me feel comfortable and beautiful. I had previously told Karen that I had chronic RBF, wasn't fan of my butt, and couldn't pose. She promised she had tricks for all of those concerns. And oh boy, did she deliver. The pictures she captured were absolutely gorgeous. She patiently helped me go through over a hundred amazing photos to select my favorites.
