Later, when the Novocain wore off on my cheek, there was a lot of pain there too from the drill damage. At the time it happened my mouth would fill up with blood, and I had to keep swallowing it because everyone left the room. (he sees multiple patients at one time - chaos). I told him at the time there was a lot of damage to my tongue and he waved that off saying: "little cut". Well, it was a LOT more damage than a little cut both on the tongue and where he drilled into the cheek. When he works on you his hands shake and as another reviewer said it appears he has some kind of problem. When I got to my car I called my wife and told her the situation. By the time I got home she had looked up other reviews and found numerous references to the hands shaking. I quote them below: "Also, the dentist shakes like he has parkinsons. I recently went in for my first cleaning in two years and to be honest, it was probably the most dirty my teeth have ever been! I was worried I'd be judged for my recently poor dental health (I was traveling overseas for the past year in countries where I couldn't drink tap water to clean my teeth), but they didn't make me feel bad about it at all. I left feeling very positive and hopeful that I can take better care of my teeth. Dr. Nartea has a very gentle hand which makes going to the dentist a lot less scary. The cleaning lasted 15 min, fastest one in my life, he used a tool i had never seen before and when I asked him what it was he said it had been around for 50 years, which meant it was OLD and also old technique. I felt anxious throughout the whole cleaning as he was scraping my teeth and hurting my gums. Then he proceeded to polish with flouride, each tooth was warm after the polish, also something i had never experienced. 30 min after the visit, my teeth are not 100% clean and I have a very sore mouth. Sat in for a 'register' today with some kind of wax-like appliances he had built for me. The process called for choosing what brightness (color) of 'teeth' I'd like to have him install in the dental fixture. Didn't have 'Hollywood teeth' so I opted for the next closest thing. Nancy and Michelle do a great job running the front office and Michell is most often in the room with Dr. Andrews assisting. Seeing as how the particular chair/room I was in is the coldest (due to A/C placement), Michelle offered me a blanket. She entered the room with a very small clear plastic pouch contains a shiny, silvery colored item. Upon unfolding the 1000 +/- squares a space age blanket appears. Surprisingly, the blanket was quite warm. Upon leaving I asked Michelle is she could re-fold the blanket so it could fit back into the tiny pouch it came in. She just looked at me. LOL. Dr. Andrews has been doing dentistry for 35+ years and is also an instructor in dentistry. He has excellent chair-side manners and keeps patients informed as to what's happening. So glad I found him. I don't know if she was a dentist or just hygienist but she worked on a filling. Very first visit, they took two X-rays of areas that bothered me, I had to hold the X-ray machine up with one hand because the assistant couldn't get it to stay. She also either didn't know the name of the instruments dr victor asked for, or didn't understand. Double red flags I know. Needless to say, I ended up going to another place for a second opinion and I ended up switching to them! Beffa looked in my mouth and didn't even look at my insurance as that second opinion was totally free and other places wanted to charge me an emergency fee! (I had pain even after going back to dr V to adjust the bite where actually the woman ended up adjusting but it made no difference) Long story short, I feel they over charge, and when I went to the other place I felt almost embarrassed when he asked to me "so you just told him 'this tooth hurts' and they drilled it right then and there? They didn't review all of your X-rays?" Because the answers were "yes, and they only took two X-rays".... Apparently, when you're new to a place they X-ray you all over the mouth and review the work that needs to be done. I guess I hadn't thought about it because after that was realized, I remember my dentist in Texas had done that on my first visit too! I scheduled my initial appointment in advance, it was not urgent and I was not in pain. It was an occasional discomfort. Also, as a rn/surgical technologist, many tests have to do with what the instruments are called and used for. No idea how she passed anything by "forgetting the names of the tools". One taught well is trained to know what the surgeon and/or Doctor needs before he even hands over the previous "tool".

We finished paying off the bill in March/April 2016. Then a few months ago we got a call from them saying our check had bounced. I thought maybe they'd called us by mistake, but my roommate's son hadn't seen him lately either. So, they sent me a text with a picture of the bounced check. The first thing I notice is that it didn't bounce, but was stamped, "VOID." Upon closer examination I realized that the check is dated March 2016. It had expired. I spoke with them again and learned that they'd discovered the old check during a recent office move. After spending time pulling up old bank records and printing them out, which showed that our bank had withdrawn the funds, I realized what had happened. In March of 2016 I made the final payment on the bill. IN April 2016, I received another bill for the amount I'd paid several days earlier. The bank at that time showed it had gone out. I called the office to discuss the bill, but they were on vacation. Knowing that the bank sends out a physical check in situations like this, I contacted them and explained that I was worried someone had intercepted the check. They put a stop payment on it and issued a new one. End of problem as far as I knew. After I explained all this to the office manager and pointed out that if they had been in the office, I could have dealt with this at that time. She said they had a right to go on vacation. I said, "Sure, but don't do it right after you send out the bills. People may have questions." Then after asking me if I could prove the bank had pulled out the money and being assured that I could, she told me they wouldn't pursue it as it wasn't worth it. Here's what bothers me most. One, this could have all been dealt with without contacting us if they'd done two things - check the date on the check before attempting to deposit AND when learning it had expired, check THEIR billing records to see if we even had an outstanding balance. Two, we received no apology for the inconvenience they caused us for something that was completely their fault. Just a verbal assurance they wouldn't pursue it any further. We won't be back. I no longer trust the office staff.
