I decided to ask my husband to come sit with me. Also I do not believe the nitros was even on as it didn't help and it always has helped in the past. This time it was like breathing just extra oxygen. Let's go to the follow up. So I went in Saturday and had my extraction site looked at. Everything was fine, my husband wasn't with me at this time. The last thing she said to be is that I need to brush my tongue better as there was a black spot that was fungus. She made this diagnosis with no testing, no follow up information and walked out. I had sucked on a piece of licorice the day before because I was nauseous.however if she suspected fungus on my tongue I would think other than just brush it more would have been warranted. Oh also she almost refused to pull my tooth because I declined the $550 bone graft for the pulled tooth site. It was only after I got my husband that she seemed to halfway fix her attitude. Also she barely left the topical anesthetic on to help with the pain of the shoes and then gave me a shot in the roof of my mouth with no topical. She's a sadist. I would never recommend them to anyone.

She seemed kind of judgmental, even made the comment, "sorry for assuming, most people can tell what I am pointing at" when I asked for clarification on an image. I thought that was very rude. She didn't go over the procedure very much, or seem to want to answer my questions. At the end of my visit, I did not feel comfortable putting my dental care in her hands. The only nice person there was Ana who took my appointment, and the assistant who did my x-rays. They do not offer any kind of financing, nor do they do any kind of cash discounts or payment plans. So if you are a cash patient, I recommend going elsewhere.

I was able to connect Veronica, my mother and I on a conference call while we set up her next appointment which we were offered two options all within 48 hours. Veronica was very patient, kind and professional. My mother was able to see Dr.Ruiz within a couple of days and she was pleased with the care. She also appreciated Veronica coming to introduce herself during her appointment. My mother has a follow up next week and plans to continue care with Dr.Ruiz.

My children's school unexpectedly had a closed school policy for finals--even though I was still bringing two additional adult family members for cleanings that same day. Thankfully, I was able to make arrangements and still brought my kids to the appointment because of the great relationship I have with the school. When I voiced my concern about the rescheduling policy, the response I received was truly appalling: "Well, at least we accommodated you when your son was in the hospital." Let me be clear--my son was life-flighted to Memorial Hermann due to a life-threatening brain bleed. That traumatic experience was thrown back in my face as a justification for enforcing a cancellation fee. I was speechless. That comment was not only heartless but completely unprofessional. It's clear this office no longer values patient relationships. The staff seems more focused on their next group night drinking outing than delivering quality care or taking accountability. I've canceled all six of my family's upcoming appointments in June and July. A week later, I received a nasty letter from Amber Garcia herself--apparently unaware that I had already made the decision to take my family's care elsewhere. Dr Ho and the hygienist (I wish I remembered her name) eased my concerns and took time to explain to me that it was a very inaccurate diagnosis and why it was.
