I definitely WOULD NOT recommend Terry for any computer repairs. He had my sons laptop for an hour and 20 minutes and texted me it was unfixable and charged me $150. Said he worked on it for over 2 hours, but definitely did not. Time stamps don't lie. He also has a car just for his business, but didn't offer to drop off or meet or anything, so I didn't have to drive an hour. read more

I was thinking of replacing my sluggish 5-year-old MacBook Air when I did some research and saw that perhaps if I just got it professionally cleaned, it would function much more smoothly. I found Terry's website and saw that he offers computer clean-ups for $49.95 - and he was offering free local pickup and delivery during the pandemic! I texted Terry and he came by the next morning (properly masked up, hooray!) and picked up my laptop. He texted me a question as he was working on it to make sure he wasn't removing a program that I actually use, and then dropped it off just a few hours later. It's now super-speedy - it feels like I have a new computer. Among other things, he removed a program that I had that I thought was helping maintain my Mac, but he told me it was slowing things down massively. Now that I know that laptop cleaning is a thing, I'll probably do this every year. It's a small investment and will save me a ton of money down the road. I went to Terry's house, which is also his business address. He was able to install the new battery for me (that I already had) immediately. I was a little uncomfortable in that I went there and wore a mask to protect both of us. He did not and did not offer to. I was there about 30 minutes and he charged me $40. read more

My computer literally stopped working. I searched for computer services in the Salem Or area and TerryByte came up on a Yelp site which made me feel more secure. The ease of communicating via frequent texts was wonderful- He was prompt to get the laptop into his hands and rather than an expensive replacement of the case, he was able to get a small part and do repair along with a few extras that he did even after he quoted me! I have used 2 different computer services over 3 years . I decided it was time for a fresh look so I called Terry bytes. He scheduled me at my convenience , arrived on time. He started my computer clean up and even though I was really having no problems he found tons of stuff in my computer that needed to be removed, updated and cleaned up !! None of my other techs had ever even mentioned all the stuff he found !! He replaced my worn out surge protector , took my hard drive back to his shop and thoroughly blew out all the dust , set me up with new malware and virus protection. The best thing about him is his willingness to answer any and all questions and take the time to show me how to do stuff. As a senior who doesn't know a lot about my computer , this was wonderful ! From the moment I called Terry in a panic, I knew I was in good hands. I picked him blindly based on location (in Keizer near my uncle's senior apartment) and on a Saturday was delighted to get an answer by a real human being. I explained my problem to him. The phone company had failed to start the internet service on time, which meant I wouldn't be in town to help my 96-year-old uncle get his laptop and new printer running. Terry reassured me that once I got the phone company straightened out, he would go to my uncle's, install the router, hook up both the laptop and the printer, and make sure everything was working perfectly -- all for a very reasonable cost. When I called with the go-ahead, he gave us same-day service and went the extra mile, even hauling away the old computer and destroying the hard drive for me before dumping it (and all at no extra charge). I can't say enough about his great service ethic and his ability to work well with a non-tech senior citizen. I'm keeping him in my phone contact list for the next time I need help remotely.
