The diagnosis didn't seem right, so I took my truck to Les Schwab in Dallas for a free brake inspection before authorizing any repairs. Their technicians told me my brakes were in good condition, I did not need new brake pads or rotors, and the squeak was likely due to a minor lubrication issue. I specifically instructed this shop not to perform any work without calling me first with an estimate and obtaining my approval. I was told they would call me within a few hours, but I didn't hear back for about five hours. When I returned, I was presented with a bill for $195 for work that I had never authorized. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this repair shop. The diagnosis I received was completely contradicted by a second inspection, and work was performed without my approval despite my clear instructions.
