He even told me about an issue with a rubber coating that was pealing away on my mortar around the chimney surface. I received a post card in the mail from Terry's Chimney Cleaning which prompted me to realize I had never had a chimney sweep done in the 7 years I lived in my home. Being on the HOA board, I contacted my management company to see if we could negotiate a volume discount. Terry's prices were reasonable to begin with but we were able to negotiate nearly another 10% discount. I decided to schedule a sweeping for my home and the rental unit we own. Scheduling was easy and they were very flexible. The chimney sweeper came out and was very professional. He performed his work efficiently and noted that it was definitely time I had the chimney cleaned. He also noted that the chimney should be swept after about every 100 fires. This is good information I did not know before. It took less than an hour for both homes' chimneys to be cleaned. Terry did a fast and thorough cleaning of our chimney. He showed up when he said he would. He explained to us that a chimney should be swept every 100 fires or 2 cords of wood. We thought our damper was broken but he said it was a little stiff and just needed a good shove backwards to close it. We appreciate honesty. It works just like he said it did. We had him put a screen on our chimney stack on the outside as the old one was not keeping birds out. This was also fast. He told us if anything goes wrong with it he'd come out and fix it. I was looking through the reviews on yep for a good chimney sweep when I came across Terry. I've used him twice now and have had great service each time. Terry came out both times, once to clean the chimney and once to seal up the cap on my roof. He would have done both at the same time but my roof was covered with ice. Terry was quick, honest and informative while he was helping me out and saved me some serious money by sealing the cap (I had previously been told that it was possibly going to have to be replaced). We just moved into our house earlier this year, it had been vacant for a while so we needed to get the chimney inspected/cleaned. I ended up scheduling a cleaning/ inspection with Terry after calling around to a few different places. He was so nice and super affordable! He was very clean, left no mess and was in and out in 30 minutes. He let us know right away that there was a small crack on the inside of the chimney, showed it to us and told us how we could patch it up ourselves! Most people might try to steal our business by writing up a list of repairs but not Terry!
