Do Not Hire - Disrespect, Poor Workmanship, and Broken Promises We hired Fireplace Solutions and Services for a $37,000 fireplace remodel, and the experience was extremely disappointing. Although, in general, the fireplace does look good from afar, as you get closer anyone will notice the inconsistency and lack of workmanship. Especially for a project at this price point. Note: We did use very large format tile (4'x9') but this was communicated to their whole team multiple times. The project finished on time (2 weeks) but was clearly rushed. Our biggest complaint was about the hearth installation. It was the last thing to get done and was rushed leaving uneven and chipped tiles, untooled caulk between the floor and tile, grout haze, and some other minor items. Also, I raised concerns about the original thermostat placement three different times and was told it wouldn't be an issue. It now reads 16 degrees higher than the rest of the room. Although it was moved when they came back that day - see below - it has left a drywall patch that I now need to take care of. The owner (Steve) initially seemed helpful and agreed that all the issues needed fixing. A crew came back but spent just 2 hours doing cosmetic cover-ups. They left a bad drywall patch, didn't recaulk, and left even more grout hazed than the first time. When I followed up, the owner (Steve) completely changed his tone. On the phone, he told me "All you guys do is keep b***hing" and called my wife and I ungrateful. Since then, he's ignored all my calls and texts. I've only asked for partial reimbursement for the bad drywall patch and damaged hardwood floor -- and have heard nothing back. (They damaged the floor by dropping a tile). Now I am left covering these costs and possibly redoing the entire hearth at my own cost. This company showed total disrespect, dishonesty, and poor workmanship for us as clients. I had my 20+ year gas fireplace serviced last year by a very nice company and they did a good job getting it running again, however, they really needed to go the extra mile as they left a huge amount of built-up dust under the decorative surround and in particular around the on/off switch which is why it failed again so soon. So after getting an appointment, Dave came out as scheduled listened to my story and took a look and found the dust build up. He just started right in cleaning everything out and checked the electrical components, made a fuel/air adjustment, and Voila! We were back in business. The fireplace is looks great and is doing fine. We will continue to use it until it needs replacement, and have it professionally serviced every few years. read more

We wanted to change to a different gas log from the one we had done a few years ago when we remodeled our home. The sales rep from Fireplace Solutions came out and took pictures and asked me who did the work before. I couldn't remember , but told him I would ask the contractor who did the remodel. The salesman for Fireplace Solutions said his technician looked at the pictures and said it was installed improperly and was so dangerous we should not turn it on. And, that we needed to tear it out and spend several thousands of dollars replacing it with a new one. Twice I texted the salesman and said I had some questions. He never responded. After a third text, he told me that he was busy and didn't have time to get back to me. Then, I called the contractor to see if he remembered who did the work. He looked in his records and said it was Fireplace Solutions. When I texted the salesman and told him it was his company that had done the improper and dangerous installation, he still didn't respond. I tried to email the company and it bounced back saying their box was full and not accepting emails. I've sent 2 more texts and still no response. Pretty horrible service model. We ended up going to Lehrers Fireplace and are thrilled with their service and quality of work. I wish I had read the reviews on Fireplace Solutions. Dave arrived yesterday on time to clean and inspect my living room fireplace. He was polite, courteous, and very knowledgeable. I had no idea that the gas fireplace should be inspected each year. Dave found that the glass cover was not reinstalled correctly from a prior cleaning and we were at risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. The fireplace is now working great and definitely will be calling on Fireplace Solutions in the future to do a safety check and cleanings annually. He was on-time, very courteous, and went out of his way to make sure that not only was our initial concern addressed (a faint burning smell that turned out to be 5 years of accumulated dust ... we hadn't known we needed to get gas fireplaces serviced yearly), but to make the adjustments to the way the fireplace was set up with airflow to get it burning the way it should have been all along. We now have a very pleasant, cheerfully glowing fireplace rather than the rather anemic blue flame we'd had for years and just figured was normal for gas fireplaces. Our Jotul gas stove bought in 2017 stopped working and original seller (Inglenook in Aspen Park) informed us that they no longer service Jotul stoves. 9/16/21, I drove an hour in rush-hour traffic to go to Fireplace Solutions. I saw a Pellet-stove I was interested in purchasing. They took my phone number and email so they could send the information...nothing was received. 9/20/21, Called to get stove information. I was asked to email pictures of current installation spot since I had a pellet stove prior and told they would send an estimate...I never was notified if they were received. 9/21/21, received an estimate. It was simply the final price. Elijah Q. did a great job! He was on time, for one. Thankfully my fireplace just needed to be cleaned even tho I thought something was broken. He was able to just restart it! He cleaned it thoroughly and was very nice and careful and detailed. He also wore booties and put a drop cloth down so my wood floor wouldn't get anything on it.
