I brought my car to Glisson's for an oil change a few weeks ago. Yesterday, I was driving (long…read moredistance) and started smelling burning. I pulled into a gas station and found the oil was basically empty. I was surprised, as the oil change was so recent. I inspect further and find the oil filter has a major gash in the corner ... with oil stains around the gash. I add 2 quarts of oil and watch the filter. Sure enough, a drop of oil starts to form on the gash, eventually dripping. My question is: how could this have happened? The gash was way too big and obvious to not be noticed (on the edge where you grip w your hand). Did they knowingly install an obviously damaged oil filter? If so, why?? One theory (and this is only a guess, but I'm otherwise struggling to hypothesize a reason to give Glisson the benefit of the doubt here) -- I remember when I brought my car to them, I was under the weather, so as a courtesy to make sure I didn't spread whatever I had, I wore an N95 mask. The person at the shop looked at me weird like I was their political nemesis, so I explained that I was wearing it bc I was under the weather and didn't want to infect anyone else, but that didn't seem to change their disposition at all. Again, this is just a guess, but I truly cannot fathom why they would have installed a visibly obviously damaged oil filter on my car. (If someone can provide a valid hypothesis, I will delete this review.) Either way, my engine may have extensive damage due to driving without oil to the point it started burning. Arrggghhh.

The owner, Jeff Thomas is complicit in the abusive behavior of his employees, based on my personal experience. I brought my Range Rover in for diagnostics and a repair quote. When I politely asked for clarification on certain billing items, the service advisor (Tony Lesko) became increasingly abrasive and ultimately refused to continue working on my vehicle. I was instructed to pick it up immediately and pay only for diagnostics, which I did. At pickup, after I paid and signed only the receipt, I documented my vehicle with photos and video. *** While I was seated inside my car preparing to leave, the service advisor came out of the building, banged on my driver-side window, and then reached his arm inside my vehicle, multiple times, without my consent in an attempt to honk the horn, while continuing to make aggressive remarks.*** This behavior was intimidating, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate. The interaction was recorded. While on the premises, I also noticed that a brake warning light was illuminated, which had not been present prior to bringing the vehicle to the shop. That raised serious safety concerns for me. For clarity: tampering with a motor vehicle or interfering with its operation can constitute a felony under New York law. I am not making an accusation, but given the conduct and the vehicle condition upon release, this was alarming and unacceptable. Customers should be able to ask billing questions without being subjected to intimidation or physical boundary violations. I have filed formal complaints with the appropriate agencies and would not return.

Feeling good about the shop, I also asked for a quote on lowering springs installation. I was quoted around 900 dollars for the job, which I later looked up the book hour from BMW on this job was only 4.5 hrs. They also wanted 250 for alignment. Both these two quotes were on the higher end. I ended up driving to the stance shop at Queens and got the springs installed along with alignment for 400 dollars

They replaced the clutch on my Jeep Renegade when no other shop wanted to touch it. They sold it to me missing an ABS chip, which I was told I would get "as soon as they could order it" for the next three months, I was taking it in every week for repairs, battery dying out, just so many problems. Then I was late on a payment by a few days and they had it towed on me. So I payed to get it out of the tow place, and then paid them another $200. So, that should have taken care of the rest of what I owed. I heard nothing from them after that, so I assumed it was finally paid off. I took it to Pick and Pull because I'm finally done with the piece of junk. Shopping for a new vehicle as we speak. They told me there's a lien on it. So I call this place, to ask what the deal is. THESE PEOPLE SAID I HAVENT MADE PAYMENTS IN OVER TWO YEARS. for 1, IVE ONLY HAD IT FOR NOT EVEN TWO FULL YEARS YET. I got it in MARCH of 2021. THEN they want to say I still owed $1100 on it. WHAT! Absolute SCAM artists. Not to mention, they were SO quick to tow it when i was late by a Few days why would they have not towed it again if I really owed that much money...? I paid it pretty near close to off, if not completely off and then some! I'm beyond disgusted at how awful this place was. They were horrible to work with, they were just downright unprofessional, and not to mention massive scam artists.
