The attendees were nice and directed me to the main building. Once inside a wonderful staff person showed me the way to the pop up sale. Many tables of items for sale. I did find some acrylic paints for a great price so picked up a few of those. They offered me brownie, cookies and a beverage. How nice! They have their own parking lot.

I was honestly expecting no wifi & no TV. I got the no TV part but wifi accessible. I was in something called a suite but it's really a common area with two rooms & two separate entrances. Each entrance to the common area has its own physical key. Then each room has its own private bathroom & shower. There was a nice sized balcony with table & chairs to enjoy the fresh air & quiet. I will also admit to being surprised by twin beds. Other than my cruise, I cannot recall the last time I slept in a twin size bed. The bed was reasonably comfortable I did bring my own pillow because I feel a certain way & have some neck issues but the pillows they had were used to support my back while I sat up & read. The food here is fabulous. Well, what I could eat anyways. Too many food issues to list. The ladies I was here with this weekend were all thrilled with the food. They raved about the roasted veggies, the Spinach lasagna was a huge hit. The other massive win for the ladies was the homemade hot fudge w/ice cream, cookies, & Pecan Pie. The Pecan Pie seemed like it was truly a transformative experience for so many who did not like Pecan Pie before eating it here. Not too sweet & had chocolate chips in it. The cookies were the other really big hit. Crispy outside& soft, warm, chewy inside. Lovely spaces for retreats. I could absolutely see coming back here. P

I've been to C.O.D. Five times in the past two years…read more I'm gluten and dairy free and I've been to A LOT of workshops, classes, retreats, etc. Normally I pack my own food with me because for some reason, even in today's world, people find gluten free & dairy free to be an insurmountable challenge. Not this place. I have never enjoyed such a wide variety of choices. Yes, I said choices. I could actually choose from different dishes at each meal and every lunch and dinner came with a GF/DF dessert option! In all my illustrious travels, this treatment is unprecedented. I feel spoiled when I come here. One night they even made homemade dairy free ice cream. Stay here and say goodbye to the old "I guess I'll just have salad all week since there's nothing else I can eat" syndrome. It's not all about the food either. The location is beautiful and secluded with plenty of hiking trails. Seriously incredible views of the desert/hills. The rooms are a bit rustic, but I enjoyed their quirkiness. It helped me to remember I was someplace special, someplace not to be taken for granted. I stayed in three different rooms over the years and each had its own bathroom, multiple beds, dresser, heater, and I think they had A/C (never used it). I was always comfortable and slept well. They also have a pool, jacuzzi and wonderful fire pit with benches around it. Cell reception is spotty (that's a plus in my book), but they provide wifi, so if you need to stay connected, you can. The staff is also really friendly and helpful. I'm not sure what else to say other than I'd recommend coming here. It isn't a fancy resort, but if you want to find a place where you can slow down and fall back in love with the world again, give C.O.D. a shot!

If I had to describe our experience at Miraval in one word, it would be: Peaceful. Personally, I…read morehadn't felt this much peace in my life in such a short amount of time in YEARS. Miraval is definitely now one of my 'Happy Places'. Upon check-in the staff took care of everything, we were greeted, bags taken away to our room and our car taken away by the valet. The staff were all smiles. Dee Dee checked us in and offered us tour of the property with Steve since it was our first visit here. She also walked us over to the cafe to grab a smoothie to enjoy while on our tour. Steve picked us up, and showed us the whole property while explaining where everything was and small details about the property such as the MULTIPLE pools! We did several classes with lots of variation from Meditation to Vison Boards + health and wellness classes. We really enjoyed spending time with all of their experts learning things from them to improve our daily lives. All of them answered every question without hesitation. A true all-star line up I must say! Let's talk about the FOOD! Every meal/snack we ate here was VERY tasty! Our bodies felt amazing after just one or two meals. Mostly everything they serve is locally sourced and organic. We looked forward to finding out the Chef's special with every meal we sat down to. Diana and Alice were amazing to us, providing us such great service at every meal. We did the "Just cook for me" dinner session with two other couples. We were all strangers, but it was very enjoyable! We spent about 3hrs with our new friends, talking, laughing, enjoying great food and wine cooked up/Served by Zach and Hannah. We did spend some time at the Spa and both of us were very happy with the staff and services provided that we chose. Other visitors we had spoken with said they enjoyed the massages they got. I think we will add that to our list for next visit. The property and staff as a whole, just embody peace, serenity and calmness. My favorite thing about the property is that the pools are 24/7 - We laid on our backs in the saltwater pool at midnight, just looking up at the stars in the Arizona night sky. I didn't have a care in world, just living in the moment. We felt so disconnected here from the outside world (in a good way), and that was something I will always remember and enjoy. Nobody had their phones out (Our stayed in our room the whole time!) and as someone who has to be connected 24/7 usually, this was VERY refreshing. I took all of these photos with my sunglasses. My partner and I had no problem striking up conversations about everything we were experiencing and how we could apply it to our everyday lives.
