I am active duty military and in route to San Tan Valley for my PCS move. Unfortunately my house was not ready to close when expected. I have dogs and needed a pet friendly hotel. I checked in around 0230 on the 1st of April and I can express how friendly the staff has been. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Not the cheapest hotel by any means and it could use a remodel however the beds were very comfortable, the daily breakfast was perfect! We stayed at the Green Tree Inn in Florence for my cousins wedding this weekend. I had the most pleasant experience with the shuttle driver Missy! She was absolutely fantastic. We have stayed before, so we are repeat customers. There were several issues this time, upon our arrival (listed below). The staff was friendly and accommodating, though, which is always a pleasant experience. Also, the beds are quite comfortable. The rooms were clean -- they just need to keep a better eye on maintenance. 1) The TV was not working when we arrived, so the hotel maintenance worker had to replace the remote, then left again to get a new piece for the back of the TV (not his fault). It took about one hour in total to get this fixed, and as a result, we only had one hour to get ready for the show we were seeing that night. 2) The light next to the couch was not working. 3) The hook fell off the bathroom door as soon as I tried to gently wipe it with a Wet-Ones wipe. 4) The curtains were badly shredded, so not much privacy there. 5) A dresser drawer was missing its handle. 6) They must have been shorthanded for breakfast the next morning, as there was hardly any food left at 9:15 am, even though breakfast was open until 10:00 am. read more

Please note we may have just gotten unlucky, and I do not believe every experience will be the same as ours. Service : staff is very nice, warm, and welcoming. Some of the nicest staff I've ever encountered at a non luxury hotel Room: spacious and homey, especially for the price! Feels like a mini suite. The rooms aren't as soundproof as I'd like as I can hear the Tv in the next room, but they may have had it excessively loud. Cleanliness- upon first glance it was a 5/5. After taking a shower and getting into bed, it plummets to a 1. Our room had hair EVERYWHERE. I found brunette hair in the sink, at the toilet base, and in the tub. It wasn't even hard to see - anyone would've seen it. I went to bed and have found MULTIPLE gray hairs in it!!!! I put my hands under the pillow to sleep - gray hair. My leg felt something on the sheets - gray hair. I've seen hair in the shower at hotels a couple times in my life, but never in my life have I found hair in bed! Lastly, I had an allergic reaction to SOMETHING in this room! It might be whatever detergent they use on the face towels/pillows, or maybe the bathroom faucet is contaminated with something . I used all my regular skin care products as i usually do. Each night after I washed my face here, my face developed red itchy semi-raised patches an hour after. It could only be calmed down my moisturizing face creams. I've never in my life had this happen!! Everything else about is so great. Usually I'd give a 1 for finding SO much hair, and i have no clue what caused my face to flare up. I'm hoping we just got unlucky. Im not upset with my stay, but just disappointed. It's tough cause the employees are wonderful. The management isn't taking care of the facilities. This is the 3 rd time we've stayed here and every time the air conditioner is not in great working condition. Tonight the air conditioner is filthy and keeps making noise. There is no filter in it either. Last visit the air conditioner made an awfull noise and was dirty as well. Carpets are filthy. The rooms are large and beds are clean. Nice linens. Sad thing is this is the best Hotel in this area. Deseree did a great job finding us a clean room. Not her fault the tv channels don't come in. read more

I didn't expect to be so pleased. We needed a hotel in the Florence area for high school graduation. This hotel was quiet, both inside the room, and outside in the halls and lobby areas. The room looked nice and had everything in the room that you could expect. We had a king bed with a sofa. There was a table and two comfortable chairs where we had snacks. A microwave, refrigerator/freezer as well as a Keurig coffee pot. They had dispensers in the shower for shampoo, conditioner and body wash. As well as hand soap and lotion at the sink. A nice touch was a packet for makeup removal and a black cosmetic wash cloth. There was also a "desk" area with a mirror that had a regular desk chair. They also had blackout curtains, so it was easy to sleep in. read more

called to ask if we can rent a space during our stay so we can host a dinner for the night before my sister's wedding. Daniel seem to be pretty busy laughing with coworkers when he answer the phone. He cut me off in the middle of my sentence and said "I'm gonna need you to hold. " he put me on hold and then he came back. " so what do you need help with hon?" told him I needed to know if we could rent a space for the dinner (which is 2 months from now, mind you) and was told "nope we can't do it that day" pretty much cutting me off again. Not 100% sure if you even checked, Daniel. Don't you think you'd be a little more kind if you're the only hotel in the area?? Incredibly rude. Overall we had a good experience. Two complaints, however: 1. There is a $9.00 "resort charge" that doesn't appear as part of the room rate. Why hide this until the customer is checking in, at which point it's too late to do anything? 2. A new(?) person at the desk told us a room with a king was not available (it was), and seemed more interested in texting on her phone that working the front desk. Mad so mad. Front desk person almost worthless. Phoned the front desk, rang for [literally] 15 minutes no one ever answered and finally times out with just static. Phone system had so much static it reminded me of the military, "How copy?", "Say again Blazer one, say again!" Wife just spent 30+ minutes behind the TV trying to get it working. Only power was plugged in, well there's your problem. Only buttons that work are power, and volume on the remote, none on the TV itself work, so can't change input or channels. Even the buttons on the side of the TV don't work. I gave one star because it's the lowest I can, as there don't appear to be roaches, and the AC works. All the staff was extremely kind. The general manager Genie is a sweetie. They treated me, my sister, and mother well and were very responsive to our needs. The only thing I would suggest is that they get new carpet or install linoleum or tile floors because carpet holds smell. The soaps that they provide don't smell good to me. Booked over the phone with the receptionist. They booked me for the wrong evening (the evening before we were set to arrive). We found out upon arriving in AZ that they had made this mistake. They wouldn't let me speak to a manager the entire time I was staying there. They said any changes to my stay fees would have to be worked out after the fact and that needed to sign the payment folio anyway, and it would be "worked out." When management finally contacted me she was rude they were unwilling to correct their mistake and charged me for both evenings. read more

A pleasant Oasis out here. Nice little pool to beat the summer heat. I liked hanging in their door area for breakfast to hear the unique sounding birds. My fav part - they are moving to sustainability nicely. Compostable bowls, cups, etc. Refillable soaps and shampoos. Compostable coffee in the rooms. Very impressive. Room is decent, good size, and appears clean, coffee maker and fridge with empty spacavailable in room. Good breakfast buffet with plenty of options even for low carb/keto eaters, run by a very cheerful and pleasant lady - probably the best thing about the place! Very convenient location for the winery/wedding venue nearby, though there's not much else in the area. Even though I called to reconfirm my reservation a few days before arrival, when I showed up they claimed I had no reservation (I had the confirmation email). Said they still had rooms available, but I'd have to pay the current rate - significantly more than the reserved price. I'm not falling for that, so while standing at reception I went to an online hotel broker site and got the room for within a couple dollars of the rate on the original reservation, and checked in. No housekeeping if you're there for less than 3 nights, and only when requested for longer stays (how hard is it to put up a sign saying this in the bathrooms, or somewhere at reception?). Small pool is good enough to do a few laps or just relax, except for the creepy guest hanging around who I'm sure was high as a kite, so I left as quickly as it felt safe to do so. There's not much they can do about bad guests, but I would recommend only going with others. If all you want is a room and breakfast near the event venue, this works fine. Just be ready for games about reservations. read more

Nice location its close to the windmill winery, there's a Burger King right next door and a dollar store, felt like the staff could have been nicer and the rooms cleaner. The free breakfast was nice but you can taste why it's free. The pool was heated and the jacuzzi! Best part is they allow dogs to stay for free, so bring your little homies with ya. read more

I recently stayed 3 nights at the Green Tree. I have stayed here many times over the years. I must start by saying the staff is friendly when making a reservation and in person. What I was disappointed in is upon checking in nothing was mentioned about breakfast and the breakfast hours. Then the neglect of not checking on my room for clean towels, emptying trash, etc. we did not have a sign to post that said "do not disturb" so obviously it was open for them to enter and or check with us. We had to find housekeeping to get towels each day. We were also unable to find where to dump our trash cans. The first morning I went for breakfast about 30 minutes before they were to stop serving and there was nothing left except for an egg with cheese. All the trays except the metal pan for the eggs were old, extremely well used, discolored and not very appetizing even if there had been food in them. The room rate was very expensive in my opinion but it's the only hotel in Florence. The other choice is a Motel. A new B-B was booked also. I forgot it was a busy month with events in Florence and weddings. On a positive note, the room was nice, clean and inviting. Kendall was not helpful, sometimes rude, was on her phone most of the time and would not or barely acknowledge you when you stopped at the front desk. Every time we asked for room supplies she was very annoyed and refused to even attempt to look for our requested supplies. One evening we asked for towels and toilet paper and she said there were none. But then we asked the front desk just after her shift was up in the morning and the front desk attendant (Lavanté)got them for us right away ( he stepped behind the office space behind the desk). The next evening we requested extra blankets for my sister's room and were told there weren't any. I attempted to call the Greentree reservation line to see if I could find a manager or have them put in a request for us... the reservation clerk was nice enough to call and reported back to me that Kendall was also rude to her and told her there were none because there was a big wedding and no thing had been laundered. How can you run a 300+ room hotel with no housekeeping? Or is she really that lazy and just didn't want to go get linens? Also, she told me there is only one person in the entire building to represent the hotel at night with no way to contact a manager. That seems dangerous to me. What if there was an emergency? I have no confidence that Kendall would have handled an emergency with customers in mind. It was a disheartening experience to deal with a rude employee who could not be bothered with guest comfort and have no alternate person to speak to with. This place is pretty bad . We're not easy to please but come on , when you pay as much as they charge to stay somewhere you deserve better than this . We had called for a late check in , our flight was arriving late .we arrived at 9 pm . We stood inside the lobby calling the front desk and ringing the bell for 20 minutes . There were others behind us waiting to check in as well . The woman finally comes down wearing some kind of robe looking like she had been sleeping . No apology at all just " I'll be with you in a minute and proceeded to take another five minutes to get to us . At this point the hotel was just about sold out , there were 2 rooms left . one on the 2nd floor and one on the 3rd right in front of the elevators and ice machine .At this point we're exhausted from a day of travel so it wasn't too much of a big deal . We get our room and the woman proceeded to tell us the elevator is out . My 80 year old mother was staying with my sisters 2 young girls . I would have rather she stayed at my home in Florence but it was full and she insisted she wanted to stay at a hotel. We started lugging the luggage up the stairs to the second floor and my niece trips on one of the 3 broken stairs with her luggage and hurts her hip. The stairs were completely falling apart. We finally arrive at our room get everything inside and realize the room is not clean . Empty water bottles on the dresser garbage in the pail and beds a mess . I go back down stairs to I tell the woman the room was never cleaned . She gives me a blank stare for a minute and says "really" . Again no apology, no other accommodation just informs me that the room she's giving me is the last one she has . Wow thanks . again it's back up , this time to the third floor . Not a big deal for me I walked the luggage up and helped my mom up the stairs and got them settled . I went back down to explain to the woman what just took place . That my niece just tripped and hurt herself because of the broken stairs . That they are dangerous because they are not noticably broken until you actually fall and break your neck when you step on the Tread . It's almost like a trap. Once again instead of an apology she tells me the manager knows . when I told her make sure he knows that someone hurt themselves maybe he will have it fixed and get on having the elevator fixed as well. The audacity of this woman . At this point she gets aggravated and a little aggressive . I don Know what the hell happened in this world ? Is it just because it's beutiful downtown Florence , is it AZ and the Midwest as a whole , or is it the world has gone to crap ? People are lost and haven't a clue at all . I would have given this place zero stars if I could . I've never seen anything like this . Has to be the worst. Complete bottom end hotel you can stay at . This place is nothing more then a super 88 truck stop. The one good thing is my mother said the maids and the people who set up breakfast were very nice and accommodating . Be warned if you need a hotel in the area best bet is to drive a little more out of the way to queen creek . much nicer places there for the same price or even cheaper . read more

Exercise room had 2 treadmills- 1 would not turn on, the other seemed as if it would break in half with each step i took. I did bring this to the attention of the staff. Curious as to whether it ever gets replaced! Hot tub was ice cold. Thought turning on jets would turn on heat- but 30 min later and still cold. Pool was warmer than hot tub. Wifi was spotty. I had a very good friend get married at a winery about five minutes away from the hotel, and because it was probably the only hotel within a decent distance of the winery, the entire hotel was booked by people attending the wedding. Check in was supposed to be at 3pm. At 3:45, about 14 of us arrived to checkin and get ready for the wedding. NONE of our rooms were ready. Around 4, we got the keys to our room, which was JUST starting to be cleaned. Because the wedding was at 5pm, I went into the room while they were cleaning, and the hotel staff was incredibly rude about that, telling me they had to wipe everything down still. Another friend also got a room across the hall and it smelled so much like smoke and mold that she literally threw up, so we had four people trying to get ready in one room that the hotel staff was also trying to clean. They were not apologetic, did not give out the welcome bags to at least half of the guests, and when my friend said she could not stay in the room that smelled like smoke and mold, their only response was to spray some kind of febreeze because the hotel was booked. The staff was incredibly rude to all of us trying to check in, rolling their eyes when asked when the rooms would be ready, and getting mad that we were all standing in the lobby with our luggage and suits/dresses. The rooms were not clean and I know a few people ended up not staying the night due to this. The staff was aware that the wedding started at 5pm, so the inability to get into the rooms to get ready until after 4pm was, needless to say, very inconvenient. Absolutely would not recommend, but I know options in the area are limited. If you must stay here, I would call ahead to make sure your room is actually ready or prepare to be ready prior to checking in. By the way- the hotel refused to refund the room that smelled like smoke and mold so badly that it literally made my friend physically ill. Unbelievable! read more

We live in Los Angeles, traveled to Florence, Az. for my Son's wedding; selected The Green Tree Inn as it was close to the venue, glad we did! The registration and housekeeping staff went above and beyond to accommodate our guest who were traveling from all over the US and Germany. Molly, Jenny and the manager Monica prioritized who got rooms, which was a huge task, as the hotel was filled to capacity the night before. The breakfast was ample, good variety and very convenient for all our out of town guests. Ample seating on the outside patio, as the dining room filled up fast. What we learned from this experience: Book early, this venue fills up fast when there's a large event at the Windmill Winery. Consider checking in the night before, if you're in town for an event and need to "glam up." Check-in is at 3pm, if you need to be at a wedding or an event, that gives you minimal time to get dressed and ready. Don't blame the hotel staff, they can only do so much to get room cleaned. Trust me, they did their best to help all of our wedding guests. If you are booking a block of rooms for your guests, tell them they need to book rooms very far in advance, if they want to stay the night before your event, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. We booked in January for an Oct. wedding, many of our guests were frustrated that the 3pm check- in did not allow them enough time to get ready for a 4pm wedding. Thankfully , Molly, the registration and housekeeping staff worked tirelessly to get as many rooms ready as possible, we so appreciate their hard work! Then we went to a friends wedding and the shuttle driver forgot to come get us and we waited for over an hour just to get back. the supposed manager didn't apologize or even offer any discounts for our inconvience, said if we wanted to complain we would have to take up with their general manager. We were confused as she is a manager, but couldn't do anything? in the morning we had breakfast which was bland and a little gross. The good part was that the people working at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, but that's where the positives end. When we first checked in, the room we were given had not been cleaned yet.. We walked into the dirty room just as the last occupant had left it. Honestly, not something you want to see before you stay in a room. The housekeeper on the floor quickly ran downstairs to get us another room. The room we were then given smelled completely musty. We debated complaining, which we don't like to do. We tried to tough it out but after about 30 minues couldn't take it. Dan at the front counter was cool and moved us to a suite. When I went to take a shower I cleaned up a dead bug off the floor. The next day we left to go to lunch then returned to our room. My card key got us in the side hotel door, but wouldn't open our room door. So another trip to the front counter to get that fixed. Once in the room, it looked like housekeeping had literally quit half way through the room. The bed was made, but the pillows were basically just tossed on the top of the bed. Our old towels had been removed from the bathroom, but not replaced (which I didn't notice until getting out of the shower.) I found 1 towel on a shelf in the living area. Basically, nice enough staff but the hotel in general is below standards for the price point. We forfeited the last night's rental cost and changed to a hotel in Phoenix instead of staying another night. read more
