The food here was too tear!!!!! Our service was quick and easy. We was able to enjoy for the night…read more The ambiance is sooo nice too like gave me an under water theme. Loved it!

The first impression wasn't great but the food was exactly what I was craving…read more I ordered a combo which included potatoes, corn, sausage, green mussels, black mussels, and lemon pepper sauce. Everything I had was but delicious. It was also a big mess, but I expected that. I was glad the potatoes were soft but still solid enough to maintain their shape. It would have been a bigger mess if the potatoes were too soft. I'm not sure why there was a police car parked outside but that was definitely a surprise. I think the officer was on the phone(?) with someone but it wasn't obvious so people seemed to keep pausing to figure out if he was speaking to them. When I got inside I saw a big group which seemed to be a bit annoyed because they couldn't get seated until the rest of their party arrived. I do understand restaurants wanting to seat the whole table at the same time but it did make the entrance/exit a bit crowded for everyone else. I didn't look around inside too much but did see empty tables. I approached the two people at the front desk about my pick-up order and they pointed me to a different pick-up desk (with two more people there). They had maybe ten bags of pick-up orders but were able to find mine quickly. I was pretty glad to get out of there quickly and enjoy our food at home.

This is a very pretty, modern, well maintained airport, only about 25 minutes from Virginia Beach…read more There's a huge passageway that connects the terminal to parking garage and rental cars. The main lobby area has few restaurants, shops restrooms, and even a small kid's play area. The glass ceilings brings in lots of sunlight. They have an airport logo sculpture for visitors to take pictures. There are two concourses in the airport. They have big signs with airline names on each concourses entrance. The security screening was quick. Inside the terminal there were more shops and restaurants but we didn't see any airport lounges. At the gate, there were clear signs for each flight. But the building and interior seemed older than the main lobby section. The boarding was smooth and the flight left on time. Good work overall by the ground crew.

Norfolk International is what I would consider a medium sized airport. There are smaller and there…read moreare much larger. Major renovations are happening at present. Some airlines require you to fly smaller planes out of Norfolk with layovers and plane changes at a hub. There are convenient direct flights such as Delta to LaGuardia in NYC. This is an important flight for me. Another direct flight is one my sister took for many years on Southwest from Nashville. My earliest experiences with flying were in really small airports, some of which probably no longer exist. You haven't lived until you've flown a single prop plane that shook all the way up and down then landed in Greenville, MS stopping just as it reached the levee of the Mississippi River.. When I moved to Atlanta in 1971 my flying experiences completely changed with Hartsfield-Jackson. My first encounter with Norfolk International was when my then 4 year old son & I were coming to meet my already relocated husband to look at houses. My son flew with us a lot from Atlanta. So his experience was with the busiest airport in the world. As we taxied to our gate he said "Oh look, a baby airport. Have you ever seen an airport so small? Isn't it cute?" The more I shushed him the louder he became. People started looking at us. I thought "These people are never want us living here." Forty years later the airport has grown. A new terminal has been built, parking has been expanded with more expansion in progress. An extremely convenient "Park & Wait" lot has been built for those waiting to pick up someone at baggage claim. A new rental car building is in planned and in progress. The airport is convenient, close to my house and meets my needs and those of my family flying in. Forty years later it's served me well.
