I was up in NJ visiting when I realized that my car was due for an oil change. I gave Fastrack a call to check out their wait time, and though it was less than 30 minutes the afternoon I called, I was told that if I came first thing in the morning, it would likely be quicker. So taking that advice, I arrived just past opening time the following morning. I received a very friendly greeting upon my arrival, my information was taken, and my car was quickly taken to the bay for service. I was told that I was welcome to coffee or cocoa, all of which were available in a very clean looking coffee station area. I liked that they offered about six varieties of single serve coffee which you made fresh for yourself. Also in the comfortable waiting area, was a nice play area for little kids, which also looked very clean and organized. As I was the first car in to the shop that day, my service was quick. From the time I first walked in, to the time my keys were handed back to me, was just about 18 minutes. The guys seemed to do a great job, and my car was clean and neat just as it had been before they worked on it. I definitely recommend, and I would return to this Fastrack if I was in the area again and needing service.

They are no longer 24 hours, but are open 6am-12am which is more than enough. They have saved me more than once when I was in a jam late at night trying to finish up a repair. Lines can sometimes be long, but if you are just getting things off the shelf and paying by card, they have a self checkout (register near the door) which is very convenient. If you're there for parts, always double check what you are getting as the employees have varying levels of automotive knowledge and I've had the wrong parts searched and retrieved more than once. Lastly,expect pricing to be higher than online retailers, but know that most parts come with a warranty and if you need something on the spot, they most likely have it for you.

I'd been driving legally for about ten minutes, and ran another car off the road trying to get over in time to make the turn. It was an experience laden with heart pounding thrills. Sixteen years and a full scale renovation later, I worked next door to this place, and I was in three times a day. I could probably have expressed the amount of money I spent in the convenience store as a single digit percentage of my income. Wawa has once again resumed that role in my life, but when I'm in the Freehold area, if I happen to need something this Exxon might sell, I will always make a point of stopping in. The owner is a very nice fellow. The aforementioned convenience store is large and well tended, offers a decent cup of coffee that is never burnt, and features the largest and cleanest single occupant bathrooms you are likely to ever find attached to a gas station. I'd break out the old "eat off the floor" cliche, but I don't usually eat off of floors, and certainly not ones in bathrooms. As for the gas, well, it combusts in my car's engine and seems to be priced competitively, so there isn't much to be said about that. The cash/credit pricing scheme being back in fashion, they are doing that (which I find annoying), but so is almost everybody else these days.

Today their cash price was 4 cents a gallon cheaper than Wawa and credit was 4 cents more. The line for gas at Wawa was rediculous so I swung in here. No line, no wait, paid cash. Amazon and Walmart are great, don't get me wrong, but if you have an issue with a part you need a place to go to address your issue. Advance Auto fits that niche perfectly. The store itself isn't spectacular. None of the local parts places are that great. They don't have enough people working the counter so expect to wait to be helped. Their weekly specials aren't all that special. But if you put a little effort into it, you can save a lot of money at Advance. Go to their website and sign up for their "perk point" program. You get a $5 coupon for every $25 you spend. If you spend more than $25 they'll deliver your parts to your house for free or you can pick up the part at the store if they have it in stock in 30 minutes. Want more? Ok. When you order online you get a substantial discount, usually 20 percent. Still more? You can stack your discounts. Get your 20 percent and use a "perk Point" coupon as well. Plan out your repair ahead of time, order online, pick up in store, and save a bunch of cash.
