Tire Barn was a pleasant surprise. This place was recommended by the Costco tire department people when the repair was beyond their ability. The service was same day. I put new tires and front brakes on my truck back in February 2017 , I was treated with such exceptional customer service and great prices I decided to go back for new wheels and tires on my16 yr old son's first truck . My son was able to go into the bay and watch . I was astounded!! My son was on cloud 9 . A couple days later I went back because it was time to get my oil changed and to have my back brakes done. This is a great place for almost every kind of repair. I have purchased tires here for many years and was never disappointed in quality or service. The road hazard guarantee has always been handled quickly and drama free. Prices are very competitive with big box stores and mail order. The difference with tire barn is if you call in the morning you will be driving home with the tires you want the same day. I have had custom exhaust repairs, wheel alignment and suspension work done on various cars and trust their abilities completely. This is a busy shop and it's best to get there when they open and consider picking up when it's ready. Bill manages the shop very effectively given the high volume of repairs and he will never promise you something he can't deliver. Not sure why I have not reviewed this place before. I have been coming here for years. I have had 6 cars and gone through at least 20 tires and various repairs with tire barn. They are super friendly and helpful. The only problem is the wait times are super super long and they close at 6 so it can be a tough one for us working folks. They have a drop box that you can leave your keys in after hours for drop off. If you cant pick up you can pay over the phone and they will lock your keys in your car. (use spare duh). If you plan to sit and wait I would suggest going at 7:45 am they open at 8 but start checking people in early. Mid day weekday could be 2 hours and weekend could be up to 4 hours. I only go here for tire related issues for that reason, an oil change I will go else where. I think the crazy wait times are because of the fact that in the last year or so they have been doing groupons and what not. The place is insane busy now. They also price match. I suggest calling Rodriguez tire in Perth Amboy to get a quote then going back to tire barn, I find that their stuff is cheaper but I sure don't want to sit in a tire shop in Amboy all day. read more

I came here yesterday to swap a tire I had purchased somewhere else to install on my Ford Transit Van. I assumed this would be an issue since I didn't buy it here but it didn't seem to be a problem at all. The place is busy with customers who seem to have been coming here for a long time as the owners and workers seem To have a friendly relationship with some of the customers. A busy location means people like the service so this is a plus. Despite that I was in and out very quickly. The girl who answered the phone and the cashier was very friendly. Went in for brake pads and an oil change to find out through a phone call that I have to get my rotors done as well (second time with them in two years). After learning of the "new problem" I'm told that the cost will be around 400$ excluding the oil change. Despite being overcharged for the parts I had to get the work done with them because of short notice and working tomorrow. Will not be going back. read more

Not a happy customer. Messed up our online appointment when we showed up. Had to wait to get the tires onsite, then it took 30-40 minutes to even take the car back, an additional 2.5 hours to finish it. Once we had paid and went to the car, it was all wrong. They had put the new tires on the back of a front wheel drive car and the old ones on the front. This was the reverse of what was told. Who would put old tires on the front? We wanted the new on the front and the old ones from the front moved to the back. When we went back in to tell them, the girl said, no, I wrote it down exactly what you said. Brought my Hyundai in for a new tire. Staff was professional and accommodating--they replaced and balanced the tire while I waited. Great service, Fair price, and friendly staff. The mechanic also took the time to explain another issue--for my benefit--which did not lead to added costs. He then introduced the owner who personally looked over the work. I had a flat tire. I have a Nissan Maxima and the dealer down the street didn't have ANY tire that would fit my car. But, these guys had a huge variety. Sure, you have to wait, but they did the job and had a nice comfortable waiting room (with TV and a table to put my laptop on). So, the wait was bearable. This was all very simple...put on 4 tires, balance them and get me back on the road. I showed up there on a very busy Saturday afternoon at 1:30pm and got out just after 3:30pm. Walked in Long time ago to get a flat tire repaired. I didn't get attention from the people there until I had to ask for it. Everyone seemed busy without any customers around. I asked if they could look at my tire and let me know if they have a new one and they said that charge a $50 consulting fee just for "inspecting" the car. Countless times they have steered family members away from costly repairs despite the obvious benefit to them to do otherwise. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Tire Barn. I find the whole tire buying process to be stressful - well I used to anyway. Over the years I've tried every local place from Pep boys to BJ's, TireRack.com and Sears. After every transaction from these other retailers there's always been that moment where they call me up to the counter to tell me that they found X, Y, or Z and that its going to be an additional charge. Every time I have left these other retailers feeling taken advantage of. That all stopped today at Tire Barn! They easily could have taken advantage of me as I thought I needed my tire pressure sensors replaced. They reset them all while installing my new tires and told me I was good to go. They easily could have gotten another 200+ bucks out of me but they were honest and that speaks volumes. To the staff who took the time to answer my numerous questions, who also specked out multiple tires for me and never made me feel like I was being difficult I say THANK YOU! Needed 4 new tires for my car, called Tire Barn and they gave me a breakdown of the brands of tires they carried and the prices. Couldn't make an appt because this is a first come, first served basis operation. I was able to drop my car of and within a few hours, the car was done. They even did a diagnostics test and changed a back break light. I felt very satisfied and will use them again in the future for break service and oil changes as well. read more

They advertise they are open until 6:00pm. Stopped in at 5:10pm only to be told all of the technicians had left for the day. The guy at the counter was not apologetic at all. When I asked if I could make an appointment for 8:00am when they open the next day, I was told no. They suggested I just show up around 7:30am and hope there weren't too many people ahead of me. I went in for a broken tail light. They fixed it. No hassle and straightforward business. But 5-stars for their service by the two awesome guys behind the counter. We started talking about the car and it turns out one of them is a former MLB pitcher, who started giving me tips on my sore rotator cuff. My rotator cuff was sore from surfing and so the owner jumps in the conversation and we start talking about surfing because he's an avid surfer. The former MLB pitcher joins back in because he knows all this stuff about wind conditions and waves because he's an avid fisher. I spent an extra 20-30 min hanging out with these guys after my repair. The meaning of 5-stars means the establishment is singular and not that they're very good or even excellent. I stood in front of counter like forever before the guy even talked to me and there was nobody in the line. After I asked for an emergency repair the guy simply told me "SORRY WE CANNOT DO THAT FOR YOU". I will not go back there again. read more

After waiting 1 hour to get a tire patched for a nail, they brought my car in which was fine because they told me it was gonna be an hour. After 45 more minutes in the shop, they tell me it can't be patched. Then he told me I needed a new tire. I asked them why they didn't tell me right away since I had told them I had to be at work. The older man at the desk was extremely use saying that this stuff takes time and yelled at me. I brought the car to Costco after to get a new tire and they patched it with no problem. I came into tire barn this past week in need of a dented rim repair and new tire only to be given the run around. After waiting 2.5 hours (relatively busy inside at the time) my car was looked at and one of the mechanics brought out the rim to display that it was dented. I was told that the guy who fixes the rims was out and that it would be easier to take care of it the next business day. The man at the front desk took my phone number and told me he would call me as to not waste the trip on my end when the wheel was ready. By 1pm the next day I still hadn't received a call. I went to the shop and waited at the front desk while the man from the previous day talked on the phone with a customer. After 20 minutes of standing there, another man came to the front desk and asked how he could help. The man on the phone told him that my rim wasn't done and went back to his conversation. I wasn't told when it would be done, if it could be done, or what to do next. When I asked for my rim back the man from the phone walked into the shop, handed it to me, and walked away. No conversation, no customer service. I was given no explanation as to why nothing got done and no plan of attack on how things would get fixed. The only reason they are receiving more than one star is because the were able to do a quick flat repair on a back tire. I wouldn't recommend coming here for anything other than a quick flat fix. read more

So overpriced. My mother-in-law had her car towed there. It was a 1 mile tow. They replaced the battery and charged her 386 dollars. A tow and a battery.... My visit here was incredibly uncomfortable. I am not very familiar with cars and I was nervous about going to the auto shop in the first place for that reason. When I walked in, the man at the desk seemed frustrated that he had to ask what I needed. I felt like I was disturbing him. He seemed annoyed when I didn't know my license plate off the top of my head and even more annoyed when he misheard one of the letters I said and had to go back and fix it. He also seemed extremely irritated and looked at me like I was a moron when I misheard one of his questions, even though he was mumbling and barely audible from behind the desk. I gave him my keys and he walked away, so I took a seat unsure about whether or not there was anything else I needed to do. I was too nervous to ask and be made to feel like an idiot again. The man didn't smile once. When checking out, I wasn't told any information about what was wrong with my car in the first place. I will not be going back. I will say another man I talked to there was extremely nice. If my experience had started with him, I bet it would have been 5 star service. read more
