While I have not had the chance to shop in person, the etst store is amazing with a variety of fabrics. The shipping was super fast!

Tess World Designs is a new shop in Decatur dedicated to African fabric and accessories. Due to their success on Etsy, they recently made the leap to brick and mortar. They're located in the downtown shopping district, about a five minute walk from the Decatur MARTA Station. The bold patterns and pops of color in the window caught my eye as I was driving down E. Ponce de Leon. I circled back, parked on the street and went inside to explore. They have a variety of merchandise: African print fabrics Masks and wood pieces Woven bowls Jewelry Purses, backpacks and sandals Wraps and scarves Kente and Greek graduation stoles A few racks are filled with ready-made men's and women's clothing but fabric is really their forte. Hundreds of beautiful swatches line the walls. Most prints are $7 a yard but the silks go for $12.50 a yard. Since I haven't ticked "learn to sew" off my bucket list yet, I felt in over my head looking at all that cloth. Fortunately, they have contact info for seamstresses so once I have a pattern I can choose the fabric and get something made. It might make sense for them to sell patterns but since they don't I'll need to find one elsewhere. Anyway, I left with a cowrie shell necklace for the boy and two pieces of jewelry for myself. I loved several of their fabrics and hope to be back for one soon. Tess World Designs is a great addition to the Decatur shopping district. read more

I've been to this shop 3 or 4 times, and it gets better and better! Their fabric selection is awesome, the prices are definitely fair, and the customer service is great! All of the beautiful, vibrant colors can make it tough to choose your final selections, but the staff are very friendly and patient. They are also very accommodating with pulling down fabrics from the high racks for a closer look, and allowing customers to purchase fabric by the yard. I will definitely be back soon! read more

I am feeling so disappointed . This weekend we was in Georgia for grandson's graduation and I also was able to visit my favorite place to buy African fabric. I had been ordering from this vendor for years and was excited to visit the actual store. I purchased 2 6yd pieces and some other items. When I got back home and started looking at my treasures, I found that one of the pieces was 4 yards instead of 6. Disappointing to say the least. So I called the store and told them what happened. The young woman that waited on me remembered me and said she would just send me the 2 yards. She remembered which fabric it was. About 5 minuets later she calls me back and says that she can't send me the fabric I will have to go online and order some more fabric then they would add the two yards to the order. Or I could send the four yards back to them and they would send me the six back. I said well this was not my mistake and I am not trying to scam you. I told them to check their records I have been ordering from them for years. The manager checked the records and found that I have been ordering from them. Still he didn't trust that I wasn't scamming him out of 2 yards of fabric. I finally told him to just keep the 2 yards and the money. It just wasn't worth the trouble. Needless to say I won't be ordering from them again. I am done thank y'all for letting me vent. read more

Their delivery process is one that needs much improvement. I've order from them twice and had to call to find out where my package was 14 days later. I placed an order on March 11th and I still don't have my items. I needed them for today and now i am highly upset. I call this place and I get an answer machine even during open business hours and to add to that the mail box is FULL!!!! This is ridiculous! I literally just called and no one answered and it's within open business hours. I will never refer this business. This has been a terrible experience! read more

On March 5, 2020 I ordered 1 yard of 2 different stretch fabrics (at $19 a yard) from TESS World Designs via the Amazon site. On March 11th, 2020 I received an email that my package had been delivered. When I arrived home, I opened my package to find only 1 of the fabrics. That night, I contacted the seller informing them that only 1 of the fabrics was in the package. They 'supposed' checked on it and responded with a statement that the package was 'delivered'. I immediately informed the seller that 'yes' the package was delivered, but it only had 1 of the fabrics that I ordered. After that I heard NOTHING from TESS World Designs. Then, I contacted Amazon to let them know that TESS World Designs was being unresponsive. Since, I have made a request to Amazon to have the seller either refund my money or send the fabric. This just all seems like a sham, scam to me. If you advertise the product, and someone purchases it, then SEND the fabric. What is so monumental about that! TESS World Designs customer service is HORRENDOUS! Buy your fabric elsewhere! read more
