I was introduced to this place by my brother. He found it one day when he was leaving the post office. We can hear for lunch to see what they had. They have a variety of different foods from sandwiches to soups and salads. Everything was big portions and each of the food items some with a bag of chips. This sandwich was ok. The first half was better as the tomatoes and other ingredients made the second half more soggy and not as delicious. The bacon was pretty crispy so that was good. Gourmet sandwiches! They use quality ingredients and my tastebuds can tell. Everything that I have tried has been delicious. The service is also very good. My only complaint would be in their ambience. You can seriously hear an ant fart in this place. There is zero music, which makes it kind of miserable and awkward to sit in there. A little music and raising the blinds could really give this joint some energy. Nonetheless, I look forward to my next TK visit. read more

What an amazing find......if this place was in Mission Valley or North Park or UTC I swear it would be an insanely popular place with lines around the block. But instead its a hidden gem hidden in an office park. I can't recommend this place highly enough, everything is done beautifully and with true craftsmanship. Their soup, especially chili, is delicious, their sandwiches are perfectly made and delicious and their salads were divine. I especially love the cobb and the chili, can't recommend them high enough. One of the great hidden finds of Grantville. Really, there's a test kitchen in Grantville? Well, yes...it's part of the Bare Back Grill, Queenstown Public House, Dunedin North Park, Raglan Public House, Arbor, UTC (coming 2017) chain of New Zealand inspired restaurants. Located in a business park, the Test Kitchen Eatery is very clean with a great casual decor. It's light tones make for a relaxing setting away from the office. Their menu is diverse with salads, soups, and sandwiches. All with a bit of flair that you wont find at most office park delis. I ordered the Steak and Blue. When the sandwich came to my table it did appear to be heavy on the bread but that was very deceptive. They nailed it with flavor, and I mean they really made this sandwich taste great. To put it in perspective, I paid $20 for a similar sandwich at Great Maple and Test Kitchen's version destroyed Great Maple on taste. There are no fountain drinks here, but they do sell Mexican Coke and very refreshing Sun Teas and Lemonade. I was fortunate enough to get their mint tea which was amazing. If this is truly a test kitchen there needs to be a feedback loop where customer input could be captured. How are they going to make the best product without getting feedback from the customer? Wife & I met a friend at Test Kitchen for lunch. This was first time visit to Test Kitchen for all of us. Mack greeted us as someone would old friends. Mack passionately explained their menu and presented us punch cards towards a free lunch after a set number of visits. I ordered the Roast Beef Sandwich. OMG, this meal was star of the show! Wife & our friend both envied my sandwich, which I didn't share! Wife had salad which she very much enjoyed. Mack had also oriented us towards the iced tea dispensers to which we could help ourselves to free refills. Quality of food and drink was excellent. Hidden gem! Hiding in a industrial complex in Mission Gorge this "sandwich shop" is serving gourmet quality food. Ample room for a sit down with friends or take out. I was in the area during a Christmas post office run. Luckily I did not have to wait as long at "Test Kitchen Eatery & Workspace" as I did for the mail! When leaving the post office, I saw a sign that said "lunch" I was intrigued as this is located in a business parkey type location. Upon walking in I was greeted not only with fresh smells but also friendly smiles and faces. Everything looked so new I asked for the scoop. Indeed it is a new eatery (that is also apart of a larger group of traditional sit down restaurants) that is having a "soft opening" through 12/23/2016 (get there fast!) I am told they are experimenting with the menu and seeing what works and doesnt work. See my pictures. From what I remember they are getting rid of the quinoa salad. After getting the scoop, I ordered my dish to go. I just went for a quick Cobb Salad. Who doesnt love bacon? The quality of the food was great. Bacon, Chicken, Tomatoes, Egg, & Avocado were awesome. The salad dressing seemed to be missing a little "umph" but overall everything tasted really really good. I dont always visit places multiple times, but after todays experience and being so close to home; I am for sure going to come back. They get my recommendation. We ordered a plethora of menu items, including: butternut squash soup, turkey chili, tomato basil soup, pineapple chicken sandwich, turkey + bacon + avocado sandwich and the Classic Caesar + ahi tuna. To drink, we enjoyed IZZEs, TAZO tea & bottled Coke. We not only received friendly and timely service, we received our to-go items in containers made from recycled plastic! Keys to my heart and my wallet! The decor is perfect - simple and rustic. The gentleman working the front was very pleasant and spoke kindly. Everyone enjoyed their food. Store is located within a business district complex. The restaurant is clean and menu is clearly posted in the wall. The food and service was excellent. They greeted with a smile as my family and I walked in. The front server asked us if we had any questions but the menu was simple enough. Wait time was minimal. Food was excellent. Sometimes you wonder how other places could mess up a simple sandwich. This place takes those same ingredients and takes it to the next level. Someone today came by and dropped off some 25% off coupons. I looked at it and saw the name "test kitchen" and thought to my self well for 25% off and the name sounded like it would be a test.
